Wonderful family vacation home on the Lake Michigan shore of Pier Cove. Only two hours from Chicago, this spacious house is located five miles south of Saugatuck/Douglas and ten miles north of South Haven on scenic Lakeshore Drive in the heart of Michigans 'Art Coast'. This large and wonderfully decorated 1870 vintage restored farmhouse can sleep 8 adults in 4 bedrooms. Three bedrooms have queen beds, the fourth room has twins. Additionally there is a nursery attached to the largest upstairs bedroom that has a twin bed, full crib and bassinet which will accommodate 1 infant and 1 toddler/child for a maximum of 10 persons. The house is equipped with central air conditioning and a wood burning fireplace. The beautiful large, eat-in kitchen with a granite topped island and stainless steel appliances opens on to a wooden deck for outdoor eating/grilling/cocktails/and sunset watching.
The kitchen has 2 high chairs and 2 booster seats also for the kids. Baby gates also provided as well as toys and books for toddlers.
There is a large second deck on the bluff above the beach with more seating to enjoy the lake views and sunrise and sunsets. This is a lovely spot for your morning coffee or evening beverage.
It is only a few steps to your private beach ( beach chairs provided) Bring your towels and toys for relaxing days in the the water and sand. Perfect !! We provide wood for your nighttime beach fire. In addition to playing on the beach, the house has a large yard and is surrounded by woods with walking trails through the adjacent Pier Cove Ravine . There is a jogging style stroller that can be used on the trails or road.
The Gauntlett Beach House is perfect for families, girl friend weekends, couples and friends wanting to do wine tasting or visit craft breweries or play golf at the 3 courses within a few miles of the house.
And if you are an art lover you will find it all here in the many fine galleries and shops in Saugatuck, Douglas, and at Ox Bow School of the Arts.
