We came into town to visit family at the RV park nearby. They suggested we be there for the big 4th of July celebration in Creede. This was a great place for us to stay. It's a small town so the grocery store, gas station, liquor store and downtown shops are just down the road. The view of the mountains is very nice when the morning sun comes pouring into the big windows. We saw prairie dogs running around out of the back windows in the morning as well.
The owners are very nice and accessible if anything is needed.
The cabin had a dispenser with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which was appreciated. Plenty of towels available, and the kitchen was fairly stocked with basic cooking utensils, pots, and pans.
There is a grill available for use.
We enjoyed our stay and it was nice to have the cabin feel like home even though we were very far from ours.
We wanted to see snow and mountains for New Years, so I found this lovely cabin for my family. It was perfect for our getaway. Apparently winter is the off-season so some shops and such closed early. We enjoyed sledding and the beautiful snow fall.
This cabin was the perfect place to stay for hunting season. The loft was spacious and our family of four slept comfortably there, while my parents enjoyed the main bedroom downstairs. The beds were comfortable. The full-size refrigerator and small stove/oven in the kitchen were great and met our needs for meals and meal prep. The location was perfect-close to town and close to trails.
This cabin was perfect for our stay. Great location with access to the best scenery and wildlife. Easy access to get over to South Fork and Wolf Creek for skiing.
Hosts were great and easy to work with for anything we needed. Can’t say thank you enough!
We really enjoyed our cabin. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. Short drive 5 minute drive into town. Tv had Hulu and cabin has WiFi if needed.
Easy access to Spar City and Creede where we were meeting with family.

Good spot to use as base camp
The cabin was clean and a good spot to use as base camp. I would probably pick a different place for a family vacation, but it worked well for a guy’s trip when we were spending most of our time out on the trails.
The cabin was very cozy with great furnishings and comfortable mattresses. The owners were extremely thoughtful with all the small details! Will definitely stay there again.

About the host
Hosted by Amy
Our family discovered Creede in the early 2000's, and it was love at first snow. All the scenery you can chew and the familiarity of good people all around made the town a mountain oasis that needed to be made available to everyone... so in early 2008 as the market began to change, we set out to carve out a cozy spot for all to feel welcome and experience what some of us enjoy year-round.
Why they chose this property
Five cabins and a house, gutted and remade with love and care, followed by two apartments in the summer of 2022 make Silver Threat Escape the best getaway no matter what the occasion. When we aren't hosting wedding parties, we're housing for the hardworking miners drilling for silver, musicians of the Head Waters Music Festival, or the actors from our nationally recognized repertory theater!
What makes this property unique
Let us be that for you as well, whether you come to fish or hunt, forage for wildflowers and mushrooms, are a diehard rockhound, or just a longtime or brand-new lover of Mineral County and all it has to offer. Welcome, to sunshine in the snow, sweet air with the rain, and smiles in every forecast, at Silver Thread Escape!
