What a beautiful little cottage. Christine and Winston have seen to every detail. It looks, at first, to be such a random sprinkling of cottages and yet it is perfect in every way. We can see the lake from the deck with choices of sunshine or umbrella shade. The bed is wonderfully comfy and the softest bathroom towels ever. Best of all there is such peace and tranquillity to enjoy a truly relaxing stay. We have already booked our return visit and simply cannot wait.
Small home away from home. All necessities, close to beach and wineries. Lots of fresh produce available on road sides. Pleasant host that I would definitely consider again.
Olive's Place was my home away from home. It was located near to where I grew up and being close to my family and friends was very special for me. I would recommend it to everyone.
I was looking for a retreat to the Essex region where I grew up. I came across Christine and Winston’s place and booked it for a month - and I’m so glad I did. The cottage is absolutely perfect, small and spotless with every amenity that you could possibly need for a peaceful and relaxing get-away. And the Colchester area provides a lovely background to the place, with lots to do and see if you choose to tour around a bit (although I often preferred just to sit on the deck listening to the waves and the wind in the poplar trees!) My Hosts were welcoming and responsive and kind. Everything I hoped for. Highly recommended.
Chris and Winston were excellent hosts, with personal touches making us feel very welcome. The cottage was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The location was fantastic, quiet, lovely views of the lake. We used the bikes at the cottage to explore the area. Found several nice restaurants (so didn't do a whole lot of cooking, lol)
The beach was great, easy to get to, busy, but never too crowded. All in all an excellent stay!
Good wineries, lots of room for bicycling and walking and the beach is great for adult and kids if you like. walking distance to everything, overall lots of fun.
This spot was perfect for my wife and I. Well maintained and nicely updated. Thoughtful things provided throughout made the stay easy and comfortable. Will definitely want to return some time!
Christine and Winston have thought of everything at their property. We had every amenity we needed and more. The property is quiet and in a great location, close to wineries, markets, trails and beaches. The cottage was immaculate - clean, bright, tastefully decorated and just felt like a home away from home. It was very hot while we were there, so we didn't get to use the patio as much as we would have liked, and the bugs were pesky as well while we were there. We would definitely book this property again if we visit this area in the future.
Perfectly quiet and cozy get away! Beautifully decorated and well maintained cottage equipped with everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Lots of choices of nearby wineries and places to pick up farm fresh produce. We totally enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I stayed at this property for one week and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. The cottage itself is wonderful, it is very quaint and cozy. It is very clean, modern and nicely decorated. There is a really nice deck to sit on with a great view of Lake Erie and we really enjoyed our campfires under the stars. Everything you need is at the cottage including a couple of bikes to explore all the amazing scenery in the area. The cottage is walking distance to a couple of wineries. The cottage owners made the experience so great. They were so welcoming in their hospitality - when we arrived there was a nice note with a bottle wine and a couple of beer in the fridge. Not only did they have a Keurig but there was a variety of coffee pods. The owners were great with communication - very clear instructions for when you arrived and instructions in the cottage. They responded quickly to emails and they checked in to make sure everything was okay and all our needs were being met. The experience could not have been better, I would highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a get away in the Harrow region.
