We could manage the steps to the place, but suggest it be noted in the description that there are many steps and a small incline to be navigated.?our ages are 78 to 80.I was not aware we were on the other side of Jim Thorpe away from the activities and had to drive to the other side. We enjoyed our stay.
Myself and three friends stayed here and it was the perfect space for a girls' getaway in Jim Thorpe. It's a short drive from the busy part of town and easy to park on the street in front of. We spent a lot of time in town, but while at the vrbo we cooked breakfast, used the TV to watch shows, and were comfortable hanging out.
This is a great spot to stay - minutes away from the city center and a 5-min walk from a great restaurant/pub. Would definitely stay here again and again!
This was the first time my family and I have been to Jim Thorpe, so we definitely had to go during the winter fest weekend. The rental had a gorgeous view out the front window. It was very spacious and they provided a lot of item for us; sheets, blankets, towels, shampoo and conditioner and so much more. The fireplace was super nice. The drive was only about 5 minutes into town which wasn’t bad at all. We brought our two chihuahuas with us, the place was very pet friendly and clean. I wish the ice would’ve been cleared from the deck and yard so we could’ve actually used it for our dogs bc they would’ve loved it. The only thing we were really upset with is the electric heat didn’t work over the weekend we were there and it was FREEZING. I did call the owner about the heat not working and she responded right away plus came over to check it. Unfortunately, we were out to eat so when we got back to the rental I called her so she could walk me thru it but the baseboards were warm. The next morning we checked and the baseboards were back to being cold. So whenever we were at the rental we had to have a fire going to stay warm. It would be nice to be refunded some money bc of the heat not working and being frozen all weekend. Other than the heat and ice and it a gorgeous place to stay and I would definitely stay again as long as the heat would work next time.
The house was perfect! And very spacious . The views were so beautiful and so close to the town! Definitely would stay again

Not what we expected.
The property wasn’t as we expected. The outdoor areas were unsuitable and/or unsafe. The neighborhood had burned out and abandoned homes. The home itself was cozy, although the memorial wall and childhood cancer references were a bit unsettling. The beds were comfortable. There was no wood for the fireplace.
We enjoyed our stay at this property very much. It was very quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed Jim Thorpe so much. We are very interested in staying at the property again this summer
Great stay. Location close to town and the Gorge for hiking. So nice we were able to have our furry companion with us. Clean and has everything you need.
Great, little fun town to visit. Property was very well taken care of. It's a good walk downtown, but not bad, and Ubers were usually available. Cool neighborhood bar, good priced food just down the street if you want a more local experience on the east side of bridge. Nice stay all around, good property. Would recommend.
This place was perfect for our quick trip to Jim Thorpe. My son loved the decor. Made him feel like he was in a log cabin. Beds were all very comfortable and nice amenities in the bathrooms. Owner was very quick and friendly in responding to any question that I had.
The house was clean and equipped with basic needs like laundry soap, paper towels etc.
owner was east to communicate with. Very cozy and great for our dogs. Fenced in yard was a real plus. Five minute drive to town
Happy with our stay, place was as advertised. Comfortable and great views. Snowed like crazy so more shoveling than anticipated also lots of shops/restaurants were closed. People/kids with pet allergies will need meds. Would recommend however. An instruction list for cleanup and do's and don'ts would have been helpful.

Property manager needs to be more accessible
Property was okay, I will rate it a 4. However, we accidently got locked out and waited over an hour before someone showed up. During the time we were locked out, we repeatedly called, texted and emailed the manager. This trip could have been improved, if the property manager was personable.
My family just visited Jim Thorpe, and we really enjoyed our stay in this VRBO. The location is super convenient. Historic Jim Thorpe is three minutes away, and there are plenty of cute restaurants and an ice cream shop right around the house. We spent a lot of time on the porch, and even could see all the way to fireworks on Broadway.
The house is just as pictured. We had every amenity we needed. Everything was super clean. Individual ACs in each room kept everybody comfortable. The beds were comfortable. Note: the shower in the hall bath is super weird! You have to pull down on the bath faucet to get the shower head to turn on. That puzzle took us a while to figure out :-) And the place is not super friendly to a toddler! It doesn’t suggest it is, so I guess no surprises there. But we had to be extra vigilant with our one year year old. Lots of glass tables, sharp edges, and pretty decorative pieces that can fall over. They do have a solid baby gate on the deck, though, so that was great for the kids and the dog.
And communication with the owners was very easy. I asked a few questions about check-in, and they got back to me right away. They even suggested we check out their other properties if we go back, which we will. They clearly know what they are doing.
And we enjoyed the special touches for their daughter, Josephine, who we learned lost her battle to childhood cancer in 2019. Their love for her is clear in these rentals. Highly recommend.
Comfortable and spacious, in a quiet neighborhood.
We enjoyed our weekend and would recommend this property to people who want a comfortable place to get away for a quiet weekend of hanging out and de-stressing. We felt it wasn't ideal for anyone hoping to really walk around the downtown of Jim Thorpe...unless they have tremendous patience to drive in circles hoping to luck into a parking space. (Weekday stays might be less crowded for tourists/parking.)
On the day of our arrival, but before we got there, we had a hitch in our plans and tried to reach the contact person provided in the welcome email. We left a detailed voicemail and detailed text message at the number provided and never heard back from the person, which surprised us. Fortunately, the hitch worked itself out without her assistance, but it left us wondering what our options would be if we had any issues during our stay. Lucky for us, we did not.
All in all we had a good experience and will assume the issue with communication was an unusual glitch. We recommend to others.
This house was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and bedding was nice. Towels were good quality and very white and a generous supply was provided. Very spacious and accommodating for our dog. My family of four were here for the weekend to celebrate my daughter’s 14th birthday. When we walked in the door and the first thing we saw was the shrine on the fireplace mantle for their daughter who passed away from brain cancer in 2019, my daughter immediately burst into tears. Not to say that it wasn’t beautiful and touching but it was SO personal and devastatingly sad with large photos of Josephine, her childhood artwork, many burnt candles, prayer card and tribute from her class. My daughter who struggles with anxiety and depression could not spend much time in the main room of the house because it was so triggering for her. She sobbed and said “i was trying to have a nice getaway and forget all my problems and now this just makes it worse!”There is also a binder with about 20 pages detailing their daughter’s entire cancer journey including all the procedures and trauma she suffered and several pictures of her in the hospital which was very sad to read. We didn’t show this to my daughter, but my husband and I both sobbed reading it. We initially thought it was a Welcome binder with information for our stay. This is a very nice house with a very pretty view of the mountains and a five minute drive over the bridge into Jim Thorpe. If you are someone who would not be affected by the memorial described, then this house is great. My family was very touched by the tribute to Josephine but we also thought it was not appropriate for a rental property where people go to have a good time and sometimes to escape their own difficulties and sorrows. We felt it belonged in their own personal home. We have tremendous empathy for what this family went through and wish only peace and comfort to everyone affected by their tragic loss.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was close by and convenient. I loved that the property was dog friendly. My dogs loved the yard. It was a quiet and peaceful location. We will definitely stay there again.

Outdoor person happy to point you in the right direction for a fun time. I have enjoyed everything that Jim Thorpe has to offer with my family for the past 20 years. My six kids are nature lovers. I moved to Jim Thorpe in 2019 after loosing my 13 year old daughter Josephine to DIPG brain cancer. Josephine had a lust for life and loved this town. She enjoyed its numerous trails, rafting trips, and biking paths. After Josephine’s passing in June of 2019, this place has allowed me to feel connected to my Josephine thru our immense love for nature. She is everywhere. Josephine would wish everyone to enjoy these mountains, lakes and rivers as much as she did, in the company of your love ones. Life is precious. Enjoy it.
