Before booking this place i asked the host, do you have bugs, specifically roaches? "We have an exterminator come out every month, but if there is a problem the property manager will help you, she says." That should of been my clue!! We checked in at 5pm, went straight away to the beach then the pool then got food. Get back to the room at 9:30 pm. As I'm preparing coffee pot for the next day i find a huge roach in the coffee pot water reservoir. I think oh no. Well to make a long story short, i stay up all night on roach patrol, killing off and on all night, as my little boy sleeps. We immediately check out the first thing in the morning. We booked 3 nights, i sent the host a message at 12 am asking for 2/3 of the money back and why I'm asking for it, (Which i was being nice by only asking 2/3). They finally message back at 9:30 the next morning saying my 2/3 refund had been issued, minus cleaning fees and other fees. No apologies, no nothing! Cut and dry business. After saying, not even an apology, they then replied, we're sorry for any inconveniences... really??? Terrible uncaring, cold, host, and then asked me to send pictures of the roaches to the property manager (to help her out), which i did. If this were my place i would of been so apologetic, embarrassed, and instantly refunded ALL the money without being asked, but that's ok, what goes around eventually comes around!. I had two choices, go home or find last minute reservations. I found last minute reservations and altogether ended up losing $600+ on this whole deal. What a waste, but we had a great time down the road at a clean bug free place. I've stayed at bogue shores suites before and we absolutely loved it. The property manager told me (not the host) they were going to get the problem corrected. If they do I'll consider bogue shores suites again, BUT NOT WITH THIS HOST!!! If you don't mind roaches, and possibly carrying them home with you, then you'll love this place and this host, but as for me... Never again!!
