This charming, sunny little flat-access multi-level home perched up above the township is one of the early chalets just a short two minute drive or fifteen minute walk to the town centre, cafes, bars, pools etc but is well away from the day-to-day bustle of the busy village.
Snowdrop Chalet is very handy to the network of walks and mountain bike tracks. Average fitness is required to walk up the hill to this property from the village – there is handy walkway next to the property that provides a shortcut via Alpine Ave. For those who are keen to take advantage of the views and tracks, just up around the corner on Acheron Heights there is also access to Conical Hill and the Majuba track.
The property offers open plan living including small kitchen facilities (including crockery and utensils, 2-hob cooktop, benchtop oven, microwave, toaster and Nespresso machine [BYO pods]), dining/lounge area with a log fire for the colder nights as well as a heat pump. A deck area flows off the lounge where you can take in those amazing mountain views or dine with the BBQ provided. The shower/toilet is also located on this level.
The two bedrooms are on the lower level. The cozy master bedroom has a very comfortable plush Queen bed (with an electric blanket fitted) and the second bedroom has a set of bunks (double bed lower, single bed upper).
There is a third sleeping space - an open mezzanine sleeping loft which is accessed via a ladder from the main living area. It has a Queen sized bed as well as a single and trundle option, and a couch that can fold out. Please note that this space has a low sloping ceiling.
Please note that due to the steepness of the loft ladder access and the bunk beds, this house is not suitable for young children (unless well supervised). The loft ladder and stairs are polished flooring and can be slippery in just socks.
This property is best suited to a single family or a maximum of four adults, although there are sleeping options for up to nine, the compact open plan living areas are not ideal for larger groups - as per the photos - and definitely not for parties.
Wifi is included.
Tenants are required to clean this home upon departure so that it is clean and tidy for the next tenant.
Guests are required to bring their own sheets and pillowcases for the beds (or sleeping bags), towels, facecloths etc . A quilt and pillows are provided.
Pets are only permitted to stay by arrangement – please ask first and provide details including breed, age, whether they have their own sleeping crate etc, and that you agree with our rules:
- There is no fenced “yard” area; there is a small grassed area for comfort stops.
- Only obedient, toilet-trained adult dogs will be permitted and must be kept under effective control at all times.
- All flea and worm treatment must be up to date before arrival.
- It is preferable that you bring your own sleeping crate and that dogs are kept outside. If your dog does come into the house, they are only allowed in the lounge area and are not allowed on the furniture.
- The bedrooms/downstairs are no-go areas.
- You must clean up after the dog daily – poop and hairs – including hosing the grass area as required.
- The dog must not be left alone in the house at any time.
- Any damage or stains must be paid for in full. A security deposit may be charged.
No EV charging is allowed at the property due to the capacity of our older switchboard and the risk of fire and complete electrical melt down. There are 4 free electric charging stations at the Thermal Pools - ensure you have correct adaptor to use them. There are also 2 electric charging stations at Culverden which is 30 minutes drive south.
