Comfortable cabin on Lake Michigan. Great fireplace to relax by as the fall weather set in. Beach to take walks on or many great hiking areas near. Great place to get away from the hectic pace of life.

Always perfect!

This was our third time staying at this beautiful property, and it has been great every time! The cottage is very clean, comfortable and homey, and right on the water. Communication with the owner has been great! We love it!

Fantastic Getaway

This place is just perfect. Its far enough away that you feel remote but close enough to go to town. This would be my perfect place to live. Its a great cozy cabin right on the steps of Lake Michigan. My pups loved it here, they could run the beach and it was remote enough to have them off leash.

Perfection!!

We absolutely love staying here and have several times! Not only is the clean and charming cottage located right on the shore of Lake Michigan on the gorgeous Tunnel of Trees, but it has such a relaxing and creative ambiance that nourishes the soul. We have enjoyed the many memories we’ve made there and look forward to making many more!

Cozy and quiet

The perfect place to get away from it all. The deck is almost close enough to jump into Lake Michigan with beautiful views in either direction. We made sure we were around for sunsets every night. We loved all the raw wood inside and you could tell there was a lot of history behind the cottage. Exactly what we needed. Thanks!

Another wonderful week in CrossVillage

This is our second year in a row at Diane's home. It is a wonderful rustic home in the perfect location. Our kids really enjoyed the beach, and water. We had a few days of storms that made Lake Michigan a huge wave pool. It was a lot of fun. We took trips to Harbor Springs, and Petoskey, and also the near by sand dunes at Wilderness State Park. Overall another great time.

Location, location, location!

Relatively private beach and crystal clear water steps from the deck made for a wonderfully relaxing getaway. My dog loved splashing through the waves although the water was rather chilly for those of us with only 2 legs. Great little local farm right around the corner. House was very comfortable. Would love to come back later in the summer when we can actually get in the water. Thanks for sharing your charming family lake house!

Welcome Home..

Sitting here at work... missing Agamiing Minwendam ..... I can not begin to describe how relaxing and peaceful this place is. This is not your typical modern rental, with the sterile feel. This is Grandma and Gramdpa's cottage... Cable / internet / cell phone coverage.. you can have them.. Gorgeous sunsets, Frogs, Campfires, Foxes, Snakes, Bats, Deer, wild turkey, Wine on the deck while watching the kids on the beach.... Boss I'm taking another vacation... hope the current renters don't mind a drop in guest....

Cozy cottage on Lake Michigan

This was our 4th trip to the cottage, so visiting has become an end of summer tradition for our family. We hope to return next year as well. The cottage feels more like a home than a rental, and is full of the family's art and collectibles. We appreciate the well stocked kitchen since we tend to eat most of our meals there. There are also tons of DVDs with movies our kids haven't seen for cloudy days. The cottage is close to the water so it is easy to keep an eye on the kids and the dog playing on the beach. The cottage is close to Cross Village and the landmark restaurant Leggs Inn. Mackinaw City or the ferry to Mackinac Island are an easy drive (about 30 min). This year we sometimes had cell service (with Verizon) but the wifi was a great addition! We had a great time and highly recommend Agamiing Minwendam.

We have rented here a few times and the location keeps us coming back. The cottage is getting a bit run down & definitely needs some updates. If rustic beauty is your thing than this is for you. When we had issues, Diane was right on it which is a plus.

Family Summer Vacation 2022

Lovely property with gorgeous, private, sandy beach. Our family of five had the best time and loved the beautiful views, cool breezes and calming Lake Michigan waves. This was our first vacation bringing our golden retriever and she loved being with us, playing and relaxing on the beach. This was our second trip to Cross Village and we love it. Thanks for a memorable week!

A wonderful getaway

Enjoyed the sunrise and sunsets, nice beach-walks, sounds of waves at night. So happy the store in town is open now. Looking forward to see how the Petosky Brewery works out! Thanks Diane for letting us stay here. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Lovely cottage on a lovely section of beach!

My husband & I, along with our 18 year old daughter, had a wonderful weeklong visit to this lovely beachfront cottage! The lake views are incredible & the cottage has many special touches! Our week was relaxing from start to finish! Diane checked in via text with some little details at the very start of our trip & we always felt we could reach out to her at any time. We are planning a return visit next year!

Beautiful Lake Michigan Views

The cottage is located in a prime location with beautiful views of Lake Michigan. My family and I made lasting memories and my dog was in heaven. Despite the rainy week and brisk temps we experienced, we enjoyed the fireplace, hikes at Wilderness State Park, and cooking meals. It was difficult to leave. Thank you Diane for your excellent communication, prompt action and for sharing your special gem with us!

2020 Escape from Reality

We spent a week at this adorable cottage late Summer of 2020. Everything was as expected. The space was clean, welcoming, fuss free and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. We spent the week reading, playing games and swimming. The lake levels rose in the week that we were three, so lake access was a bit tricky. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay here again in the future.

Heaven on Earth

We had six women for our 27th annual getaway. We cooked, ate, laughed, crafted, beached, swam, and slept in comfort listening to the waves. So many wonderful little things about Agamiing Minwendam made this our new favorite place, and we hope to return next summer.

Position A on the beach...could see four lighthouses night and day

This is obviously a cottage with a lot of family history. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet once we got used to being cut off from the internet for extended periods. Cross Village is a real jewel.

About the host

Host profile image
We are "the kids". We summered here all our growing years. We get here as often as we can, taking turns loving, caring for, and enjoying our special place. We have played on the beach and in the woods for decades. Family gatherings here are a treasured tradition. Welcome to your own gatherings and memories, we hope they are as treasured as our own.

Why they chose this property

This beautiful, private land has been in our family for multiple generations. The lake house is built on a corner of the original family land. Thirty acres above the waterfront property were donated to the Little Traverse Conservancy. Over three acres are retained as part of the waterfront home. The cabin is open for paid guests, during weeks when the family is not using it. We are pleased to be able to share our piece of heaven with others. In the "off" season, we lower the rental fee, which makes it possible to host couples and artists for a lower cost getaway.

What makes this property unique

Just being down here on the big lake is a peaceful and refreshing experience. After a few days, you can feel yourself unwind and feel at home. Being close to the lake, the weather and wildlife is good for the soul. The sun doesn't always shine. Sometimes there are storms. They are wild and beautiful. Being close to the variety of weather is all part of the experience.
