Repeat Stay

This was the second Thanksgiving we’ve spent at this cabin. It is spotless and well-equipped to cook a feast! Cozy inside and near the National Park. We’ll certainly return.

Relaxing, lovely home and beautiful setting.

We truly enjoyed our stay! The home has a rustic wilderness feel, but is completely updated, clean and cozy. Peace and quiet, coffee on the deck in the morning, enjoying the amazing view of the stars in the evening. Check in, communication was seamless. Would definitely stay at this property again! Hopefully for a longer vacation!

Great Cabin in the Woods

Really enjoyed our time at this property. We spent most of our time around the fire pit outside. A great place to get away from the city with all the conveniences of home.

Short Stay in the woods

We wanted to check out the area for a possible move coming up. Although, it was a bit more in the woods and up into the mountain than I had realized (people were not kidding when they said to make sure you have 4 wheel drive) it was a really great stay for us. My husband and two sons had to meet us there the second day so I guess that is why the cabin straight in the woods was a bigger deal to me and my daughter going it alone. It is a super cute cabin in the woods with the most beautiful view and surroundings. We even walked around the woods a little and found a cute little stream trickling through. They truly had everything you needed to get through your stay, well except a normal ol' coffee maker but I just ended up making mine on the stove with a pot and then mesh strainer. They have a keurig but I didn't want to buy refills because I do not have it at home. I think it is perfect for some time away in nature and I can only imagine how beautiful it is come spring and fall. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, relaxing, and close to adventure

The cabin was perfect for my family. We were under an hours drive to Lurray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, University of Virginia, and Monticello. We loved exploring. Thank you for a lovely stay - we got to see spring arrive and the red buds all over your property were so beautiful.

Really is a gem

We had a wonderful stay. The property is well-maintained, well appointed, and beautiful. The drive up was through idyllic countryside, and the property feels isolated even though it's really not in the middle of nowhere. We were pleased with the beds, bedding, and linens supplied. Communication from the property owner was easy and sufficient. We'll be back!

Fishing trip

We stayed here to do some fly fishing in the local rivers. It was a great quite place to stay. The place was clean and comfortable. Location is great if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. Super quite and relaxing. The drive way is steep and long not a bad thing it was kinda a fun part of the place.

Perfectly secluded

We absolutely loved this place! We had such a relaxing time. It is easy to get to but very nicely secluded. It is a beautiful cabin that is very clean and with more than you need for a relaxing stay Outside of shenadoah. There is a lot to do nearby. We will definitely return. Our puppy loved it too.

Winter getaway

The house itself is really lovely- clean, sunny, and spacious. The owner was prompt and accurate in his responses. Our only issue was that local access to Shenandoah was cut off - maybe ad hoc- because we could not cross the Conway River locally as described. The owner committed to supplying future guests with more information on alternatives. We highly recommend this spot for short winter getaways like ours!

Clean and Renovated

The last house on the street. Secluded by trees. The street is steep and gravel. Since it was in summer we were fine without all wheel drive. I can see how you would need it during winter months. Our dogs loved the wrap around porch. They chase each other, and we kept an eye on them as we closed off the exits with gates. Firepit was great, comfy chairs. Kitchen was new so cooking was enjoyable. Overall great stay.

Beautiful, Secluded Property in Shenandoah Area

If you are looking for a secluded, well kept property in the Shenandoah area, this is it. Property is remote, beautiful, and will defintely require a little extra ground clearance to get to. If your coming at night like we did, this adds to the adventure. House is well kept, clean, and pretty modern given the location. We only stayed two nights to do some hiking in the park but it was a great spot for us. As the ad states, no WiFi but if you have Verizon your good. Only minor gripe was pillows in master bedroom left us a little uncomfortable but thats an incredibly small nit pick. This was a beautiful location and we would love to stay again especially in the Fall. Dont pass this up !

Adorable cottage in the mountains

This home is set in the upper reaches of a valley on the side of a mountain. With most of the leaves down, we had views of the surrounding mountains in every direction. The house was immaculate when we arrived and well appointed for a lovely stay. We were out and about most of the time visiting Monticello and attending a concert in Charlottesville (about 50 minutes away), but the drive was so scenic we considered it part of the vacation. Everything was as pictured, the beds comfortable and plenty of extra blankets if you wanted them--though they weren't needed--the house was nice and cozy. The supplied hot cocoa cups were definitely a treat on a chilly November evening. There's lots of outdoor space for little ones to roam and run and a fire pit that we didn't have the chance to enjoy because of limited time on our weekend. I concur with other reviewers, you need an all-wheel or four-wheel drive vehicle to climb the last 1/4 mile to the house. The road/drive isn't rocky or uneven, it's just steep, so a front-wheel drive vehicle would struggle to complete it. The 4-wheel-drive Jeep-owning and frequent off-road driver in our group suggested a front-wheel drive vehicle "might" be able to make it if you backed up the whole way. But being a little difficult to get to made this secluded mountain home just that much more wonderful to us. Bottom line, come stay here. You won't regret it. Also, don't miss the fresh donuts (on Saturdays only) and breakfast sandwiches at the Dutch Pantry in Ruckersville--simply phenomenal--you would regret missing them.

Rural Retreat

My family left the city behind and luxuriated in the VA mountains! We hiked the AT in Shenandoah National Park, toured UVA campus and enjoyed an amazing day at Monticello! I think Monticello was everyone's favorite. There is a Thomas Jefferson actor who speaks for about 45 minutes in the afternoon and he was fantastic.

Quiet get away with beautiful views

Property was secluded and had great views. There was a fire pit on the property that we used every night and plenty of firewood available which made for a lot of fun! The mattress in the master bedroom was comfortable and everything looked updated and clean! They had a Keurig machine in the kitchen rather than a coffee pot which I would’ve preferred. And it required four-wheel-drive to get to the property which we had but did not find out about until after we had booked. Only about 30 minutes from the Barboursville vineyard which is where we were going to visit so great location!
