Amazing location and setting with breathtaking views

This villa was beautiful. Our group of 5 adults and 4 kids stayed here for Dream Week (Jamaica’s Emancipation and Independence holidays). We truly enjoyed our days looking out from the varanda admiring the amazing views, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, and eating some of Ann’s delicious dishes. We spent 4 unforgettable days. Ann was also very helpful with restaurant tips and in setting up a boat tour for us. The kids enjoyed playing with the very friendly dog, Stella, and cried the last day because they didn’t want to say goodbye to her. While we had an incredible time, there are a few things that could have made our stay more comfortable. The access to the rooms upstairs is through a very steep and narrow staircase which is not ideal for kids. We thought we would be okay without A/C but it was very hot at night, and it was hard to sleep. Also, with the lack of window screens, we all got attacked by many mosquitos even with the mosquito nets. The plantation shutters are very charming but not very functional for noise and light. We could hear the noise from the cars/motorcycles (road nearby) and from the concert nearby until 5 in the morning. We brought loud noise machines for the kids but their sleep was heavily disrupted. It’s a lovely house with so much history but in need of some TLC and updating: fans out in the varanda and new windows are certainly a must. Despite the sleepless nights, we still had a great stay and enjoyed the time spent in the villa with the friendly and accommodating staff.

Relaxing stay on private grounds and beach

The property was great for our purposes as we were all at Negril for a wedding. It was a very relaxing stay with two private beaches right outside our porch. Floating lounge chairs, two person kayaks, SUPs, a hammock, clay tennis courts and horse shoes on the beach were just fantastic. The staff was attentive and Ann was a fabulous cook. Overall the property was perfect for our stay. One thing to note is that noise from the road can be distracting at night. We had ear plugs so the road noise did not bother us. Really enjoyed the stay.

Tranquility and history plus the fun of Negril

We were so fortunate to find this beautiful home in Jamaica. It is a truly unique place with the kind of rustic charm we appreciate. I understand this is the oldest home in Jamaica and it has the kind of genuine old-world details you would expect: heavy hardwood louvered doors and windows, a gigantic covered porch overlooking the sea, rustic furniture and antiques, natural ventilation instead of AC (totally comfortable!), and lovely beds with mosquito netting. Beyond the house, you have a private 2-acre property all to yourself that includes lawns, gardens, a full tennis court, and two completely private beaches with no outside access. It is a little bit of paradise. Your stay is all the more comfortable because of the wonderful staff -- two full-time cooks who also clean, maintain, do laundry if asked, or pick up groceries. The lovely Anne, Nathalie, and Talesia make you feel well at home and prepare some amazing Jamaican meals. Donnie takes care of the yard and garden and helps you get a taxi, launch the kayaks or anything else you need outside. And at night, there is always a security guard, usually Charmer, walking the grounds with two dogs -- the intimidating Sam and the lovable Stella. We barely ventured off the property because we had absolutely all we could want at home. It was very relaxing. We did venture out for an excellent dinner at Push Cart (at Rock House) and a few other good local meals. But by far the best excursion was "Reggae Horseback Riding" near Little London. Highly recommended. If you are someone who appreciates an older home and the history it provides, this is the place you will adore. I cannot wait to return.

Beautiful, Relaxing & Fun!

Our stay at Llantrissant was absolutely wonderful! The staff was amazing and so helpful. Ann and Natalie served us the most delicious meals and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed paddle boarding, kayaking, tennis, croquet, snorkeling, floating in the blue water, and just hanging out on the veranda. It was an incredibly fun and relaxing week in a stunning location!

Paradise!

There aren't enough good things to say about this place! From the moment you arrive you automatically begin to relax and just take it all in. It's impossible to not fall in love with this old creole cottage at first sight. The long porch is everyones favorite place to hang out, and Ann and Natalie's cooking is a highlight not to be missed! We enjoyed Lobster cooked 3-4 different ways, Jerk Chicken, Callalloo, Ackee and SaltFish and the list goes on. The beaches are protected so the water is calm most of the time, great for teaching a 3 year old to swim!!! Also perfect for lounging on rafts and floating the day away. There were beautiful sunrises and sunsets out on the point that may have been my favorites part of the stay! Danny takes extra care to ensure the grounds are beautiful at all times. The ping pong table on the point or the tennis court beside the house is perfect in the late afternoons for a quick game before dinner. Barry and Charmer are a welcome addition to getting everyone comfortable to their new surroundings, and its hard to not wanna just call in sick to work and stay forever!! Highly recommended! Love Love Love this place!!!

Perfect Getaway!!

Such a wonderful place for a getaway! We had a small group this time and cannot wait to come back again with more people. The helpful friendly staff felt like family before the week long stay was over, & being able to swim out to the reef from the property 1st thing in the morning was one of my favorite highlights. The views from the porch were mesmerizing & as beautiful as the rest of Jamaica is, we found it hard to leave the property because everything you could possibly want was right there! Will definitely be back for more-can't wait to bring the kids and friends next time-it would also be an excellent choice when traveling my older parents for a destination holiday.

Wedding Vacation

As I look back on the pictures from our 2014 wedding in Jamaica, the ones that stand out as my favorite are from the time we spent in Negril at Llantrisant. The relaxing atmosphere, the men and ladies who assisted us, and the beautiful and well kept villa and grounds, all bring back wonderful memories. My husband and I both agree that It would be a great place to bring our children and grandchildren someday (we are both 60 so this wouldn't be too far in the future). The arrival date is incorrect as I couldn't go back to the actual date 2 years earlier!!

Our Destination Wedding Villa

We are thrilled we chose the Llantrisant location to host our memorable wedding with our loved ones and cannot recommend this place enough to anyone we know considering vacationing in Jamaica and/or hosting a destination wedding or event for themselves, as this truly was that way to go. Both my husband and I work within the hospitality industry of hotels and restaurants and from our experience, creating a personal event unique to our personalities and taste is exactly what we were able to achieve at Llantrisant, rather than the generic, typical resort wedding styles we saw all over the internet for most people that choose their destination wedding in Jamaica. Llantrissant's rustic and well maintained historic estate was a romantic and practical location we spent 1 week at with 10 of our closest friends in addition to being the location our wedding was hosted at. Being that the grounds have 2 private beaches, manicured landscaping, a large grass/sand backyard and 24 our security of the enclosed property, this was a stellar location to hold our intimate 30 guest wedding outside with the ocean as our background. The staff prepared local food and was helpful in recommending vendors for all of our providers for lighting, music, flowers, etc. If you are looking for a memorable, rustic and "non-cookie cutter" Jamaican experience, choose Llantrisant and not another Sandals resort. Support a small business that will provide a much more authentic experience while visiting Jamaica.

Absolute relaxation

First of all, having your own private beach is as fabulous as a vacation gets! Where else could you have complete access to water sports including paddle boards and kayaking? In addition, we had access to snorkeling. To relax you could also lay in the hammock in front of the gorgeous view of the water. The property is well maintained with some of the softest grass our feet have ever stepped on! Another beautiful natural wonder that gives the property it's charm were the magnificent Kapok trees. They complemented the elegant beach house. The food was great with personable chefs that cooked traditional Jamaican yet customized to our needs. We had delectable lobster, great jerk chicken and our personal favorite curry octopus and whelks! The staff were very kind and hospitable making us feel at home. We can't wait to go back! :-)

FABULOUS! FABULOUS! FABULOUS! LLANTRISSANT BEACH VILLA IS THE BEST!

Burke-Spero, Miami, Florida, 2014 Thank-you Llantrissant Beach Villa! My family and I just returned from Llantrissant Beach Villa; I had the best vacation that I have had in years. The property location is in the heart of Negril, Jamaica, of all places, right. As the gates opened onto the Villa's property, all that I could think of was that I just walked into paradise. The estate ground were beautiful with flowers, towering trees surrounding a quaint, yet grand, island home, with two private beaches, white sand and the most crystal blue sea water that I have ever seen. And if that wasn't enough, we were greeted everyday by the smiling faces of the beautiful people who worked very hard on the property to making us feel welcomed and well taken care of. It was truly home for eight days! Our very talented Chefs, Paulette and Anne prepared home-cooked traditional Jamaican dishes that were tailored to our tastes. The food was outstanding all meals were served on a beautiful lanai that looked out over the sea! Our traditional Jamaican "mosquito-netted" beds were made daily and bathrooms were cleaned and dressed with fresh towels. The decor in the villa consisted of invaluable antiques sprinkled among vibrant colors of yellow, sea-foam green, orange, and warm golden brown wood furniture. There was paddle boarding, kyaking, swimming, long walks on the grounds among the trees and flowers, watching beautiful sunsets, and stargazing at night while listening to the island music from Negril city outside of the villa's security gates. What more can you wish for; and all at a price that can not be beat by anyone in the resort industry. Because Llantrissant Beach Villa was so centrally located my family and I had the services of a private driver, arranged by our hosts. We were taken to the various attractions in and around the Negril area. Like Y/S Falls, The Caves, Xtabi, Rick's Cafe, and Alfreds on the Beach. I could go on and on raving about Llantrissant Beach Villa and our gracious hosts. All I can say is go for yourself and experience THE BEST IN NEGRIL book a vacation and... Enjoy Paradise!!!!

Perfect island vacation

Hesitant to write review because I want this place to be available the next time we go! I cannot say enough great things about our stay here. We went with four other couples and it was all of our first time in Jamaica. The staff was beyond amazing. Great, affordable home-cooked meals. Knowledgable groundskeeper Donnie set us up which everything and anything we wanted to do and made sure we got a fair price. Night guards were great and made us feel safe and let us visit the dogs a few times. Expect a true island vacation and pack more beach gear as we spent most days and nights at the house because why wouldn't you?

Wedding/Family Trip

This was our second time staying at Llantrissant and we plan to return. The service was once again fantastic! We highly recommend having as many of your meals as possible prepared by the cooks. Not only is it more economical, but everything we ate was delicious. I don't think we had anything better when eating out. Our favorite area was the veranda. We spent most of our evenings there playing games. We are a game loving group that can get quite rowdy so it was really nice not to worry about bothering others. While the location is right in the heart of Negril, you still feel secluded. Many of us enjoyed the sea kayaking and snorkeling. The reef, which is just a few feet away from the shore, is teeming with life. We enjoyed jet skis and massages that came to us instead of us going to them. My brother and his new wife were celebrating their recent marriage. The staff was amazingly helpful with preparing a lovely dinner and accomodating the extra guests that came. I really can't say enough about Marsha, Paulette, Ann and Donny. They were the icing on the cake. We are already looking forward to our next stay at Llantrisant.

Birthday celebration, wedding and family holiday

We had a wonderful time in Negril? From start to finish; from early correspondence with Afua, introduction to Ramon, seeing the property for the first time and meeting the delightful staff, nothing could have been bettered. It is such a sublime location, the house is fabulous, the food cooked by Misses Ann and Paulette was superb and everyone connected with Llantrissant, whilst professional in everything they did, were also open, honest and extremely friendly. A magical time.

Week in Pradise

From the wonderful service of the staff to the perfect weather conditions for the whole week, this was a week in paradise. The house and rooms have an old farmhouse type of appearance. Well maintained and amazingly clean. Wooden slat style windows allowing the house to be filled with fresh, cool air at night and throughout the day. The grounds and beach areas themselves were immaculately cared for and beautiful. The water was perfect for snorkeling in the morning. We had breakfast scheduled for 10 a.m. and I was snorkeling every morning for a couple of hours before breakfast. The water became choppy and had plant life churning up from the wind and waves by about 11 a.m. as the temperatures increased. The privacy and security of this villa made it possible to totally relax and enjoy our stay. Just a short walk to the nearby stores and bank. A few miles away is Rick's bar and grill with cliff diving and entertainment. I asked them to book a live band to help celebrate my retirement and we rocked Llantrissant on 12/12/12 with some awesome Jamaican style music. The same band played at Rick's that weekend where I saw them again. Jet skis, glass bottom boat rides with reef snorkeling, and messages are available from outside sources for a price at Llantrissant. They will be brought to you so you don't have to travel to the crowds. We work hard throughout our lives and sometimes create our own hell. At Llantrissant you have the opportunity to relax and create your own version of paradise.

Made our wedding magical

We planned on getting married at the resort we were staying, but their restrictions on wedding guests staying at the resort or paying a fee lead us to look elsewhere...We came across The Llantrissant and it was truly a blessing that we did. My new husband and I can tell you, from firsthand experience The Llantrissant is an amazing Jamaica experience in lieu of a typical Caribbean resort style vacation and has the best value. About 8 of our family and friends stayed at The Llantrissant, which is also where our ceremony was held. The house is very close to Rick's and is the perfect balance between beach and cliffs (two must-see experiences in Negril). The beach is completely private and beautifully maintained and landscaped. The staff was amazing and made us all feel at home. They all went out of their way to help to make our special day one-of-a-kind. The food was very authentic and delicious...we even had a small reception on the lawn, where the staff helped us set-up, cooked, and even helped clean up afterwards. There were several beautiful spots to choose from to hold the ceremony and the cotton trees and rustic decor provided truly unique wedding photos. We had a total of 16 family and friends who came to the ceremony. I STILL continue to receive compliments on how perfect of a wedding spot this place was and all of the guests who stayed at Llantrisant STILL speak of returning... it truly was amazing!! I could not have asked for a better place to share our special day or a more intimate wedding with all the special people in our lives!! Thanks, Craig for all your help!! We hope to return in the near future :)

UNSURPASSED BEAUTY AND PRIVACY

This was our 6th visit to Negril and by far the best. We have stayed in several of the high end properties in Negril but enjoyed Llantrissant the best. The privacy is nowhere else to be found in Negril and we even had massages out of the veranda and seawall. We enjoyed the beach, sea kayaks, turtle pond and shell collecting. The staff is one of the highlights of the property. Ms. Ann and Paulette were wonderful cooks and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Mr. Benji and Ozzy (the drivers) are great and took us out on several excursions including the YS Falls and the Blue Hole. Even Sam the dog joined us in swimming in the ocean. The house is very historical from an era long gone . I was a little concerned about no air conditioning (since I keep my house 72 degrees) but we were all quite comfortable. There are fans in all the rooms and the house practically sits on the water so there are breezes constantly. Previous reviewers had complained about noise however, we only heard loud music on Sunday which comes from the local community center where the locals gather to hear various DJs. We actually walked over there to hear it. The music ended around 1:00 am so no big deal. We hope to return next year and stay longer. Thanks for a great vacation!!!

Amazing Property + Attentive/Helpful Staff = Wonderful Experience

Thanks for everything, we had a wonderful experience that was directly impacted by the beautiful house/property and quality of the staff. I have to provide extra praise to the staff, who made the experience so much warmer and unique through thier assistance and added local flavor to our trip. I am very hopeful that you now have a repeat customer, and will tell anyone that is ever looking for a Carribean location to consider Llantrissant. Just amazing.

Wonderful blend of natural and historic beauty

The stay can only be described as wonderful. The food was wonderful; the accommodations were wonderful. The staff was phenomenal. Miss Paulette and Miss Ann were extremely gracious and kind and along with Roy and Benji, provided any assistance needed and went above and beyond to grant all requests. The villa is a blend of natural and historic beauty (with great scenery) that offered fun, comfort and security (thanks Charma and Barry). There was some loud music in the area one day but it ended promptly ~midnight (it was enjoyable music, but my parents' room faced the street and they found it less so). Thanks Llantrissant for sharing your little slice of paradise.
