About this property

Fully Appointed 2nd Floor Suite

Our 2nd floor private suite sleeps two people comfortably, and offers a fully stocked kitchen, queen-sized bed, 6' claw foot tub with shower, wi-fi, Dish TV, free long-distance calling, air-conditioning, private parking, private entrance and private balcony. We are centrally located on the main street of Madrid, close walking distance to everything in town.

The Java Junction Lodging sits on the second story above town's favorite coffee shop in one of the historic former miner homes on main street, Madrid, New Mexico. Located on the Turquoise Trail halfway between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, the former coal mining town is a colorful Western outpost today, and all of town's wonderful shops, galleries and restaurants are just a few doors down from the coffee shop.

Relax and regroup when you stay the night in our fully appointed second floor suite. Our comfortable queen-sized bed is frequently complimented, as is our original 6' claw foot bathtub with shower. You'll find everything you need here, including a fully stocked kitchen, air-conditioning and heating, wi-fi, Roku TV and free long-distance calling. Your own private parking and entrance allows you to come and go as you please, and the balcony off the back overlooks the private side of Madrid.

You'll wake to the wafting aroma of freshly brewed coffee from the shop downstairs. We hope you'll visit us for breakfast, which you can enjoy either on the cafe patio, or back upstairs in the privacy of your apartment. Your day may be spent exploring area back roads, or hiking the nearby state park. If you're feeling energetic, there are horseback trail rides just down the road, and town's shops, galleries and restaurants are not to be missed.

Perfect little nest

Madrid is a place that is old and beautiful with layers of history. This place is a beautiful update that maintains that history while being cozy and up to date. We were there for 3 days and it was a great launch point to wander around town and see the area.

Christmas getaway

We absolutely LOVED our stay in this adorable home and town. We had everything we needed and remarkable views from each window. The home was very clean and comfortable, and the deck in the back allowed us a special private hangout area to watch the sunset. We are hoping to get to stay here again as often as we can!

Really cool place

Breakfast was awesome. Loved the tub and verandah. Old hardwood floors and decor were just right for the size of the b&b. Bed could be better but for a night or two….ok. Town of Madrid was super nice for shopping and the turquoise trail was a fantastic drive. Thank u for sharing!

This was a great place to stay. Definitely would like to stay again and will attempt to get the room for any stays in Madrid. The lady with dreads or worker in the cafe was a little rude when asked questions and could of been tired but was not nice. This attitude was on both Saturday and Sunday. The other two workers were great with wonderful attitude and smiles. Thank you again. This place was wonderful and loved it.

Cozy retreat!

This place made for a very comfy stay in Madrid. Everything you need is within a short walk. The private balcony was the perfect way to wind down at the end of the day.

Cozy and clean!!

Our host had drinking water for us and also had bath salt for the water in your bathtub! Everything you need is there including cups and silverware and cooking utensils. There are even board games in the top drawer of the dresser for rainy days! It's closer to Santa Fe than Albuquerque but it's not too far! Plus you get coffee and a burrito in the mornings!

One of our best experiences was visiting Madrid and staying at Java Juction.

The accommodation was delightful. The deck was so wonderful. And staying above a coffee house perfect!

Perfect location

This charming studio could not be better located to explore the funky art town of Madrid. It has everything you need for a great get-away, with full kitchen and quaint claw foot tub, a cozy bed, lots of light, plenty of closet space, and a dreamy private courtyard patio. Java Junction, the coffee shop down below, has great coffee and breakfast foods, some nice gift items, and cool hats. The studio is right in the middle of town, within walking distance to all of the shops and businesses in Madrid. Thirty minutes and an easy drive from downtown Santa Fe.

Java Junction

This little B&B was cute. Upstairs above a coffee and pastry shop. The hostess was so nice. Room and bed very comfortable. Spend 2 days in this very small town of Madrid, NM. You can see the entire town in a day. Around 30-40 shops but they choose when they are going to be open. A lot of art work and silver and turquoise. Santa Fe 18 miles away. Loved the B&B.

Best location and dog friendly:)

It was clean and affordable. Also, if you crack a window, you can hear the music at the Mine Shaft.

Madrid is lovely

I stayed at the spot in Madrid, above Java Junction, with my Chihuahua. It was the perfect location for a short get away (from Albuquerque). I even heard Joe West playing from the Mine Shaft across the street. The place was clean and nice and perfect location. Thanks!

Another great stay at Java Junction - there's no place like it.

Was cool and comfortable during the 100+ degree days. It's such a great spot, in the heart of town, and above the great coffee shop. The deck is a wonderful place to sit and have breakfast, read or work, and to stargaze at night. A lovely place, with lovely people running it.

About the host

Hosted by Host

Host profile image
Java Junction's coffee shop and lodging were started in the late '80's by my mother-in-law, and I have had the pleasure of running the business for the last 18 years. Sometimes I imagine myself as a conductor, the Java Junction as a depot for visitors to take in Madrid's unique juxtaposition of historic Western tradition and creative, coloring-outside-the-lines personalities, while the coffee shop is literally the fuel stop for the diverse creative energies of our small community.
