Get ready to relax! Just 30 steps away from a beach access, this luxury condominium located at the center of Pleasure Island has everything you need with outstanding ocean and lake views. Spacious and comfortable, “Big Blue” is situated on a quiet one-way street just two blocks from the Carolina Beach Boardwalk and within walking distance to restaurants, shops and the famous Britts Donuts! Park your car and walk where you need to go for your entire stay! During the high season, enjoy the amusement park, movies at the lake, music at the pavilion or enjoy the fireworks and the farmers market which are all just a short walk away. Across the street, the lake offers paddle boat rentals and a playground for the kids.

"Big Blue" is a spacious 4-bedroom, 3.5 bath condo. It boasts a large well-appointed kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The top floor offers a Queen main suite with an on suite master bath, a half bath off the kitchen, wine/coffee bar, dining/living room, large flat screen smart TV, and an ocean view balcony. The lower floor has another Queen suite with attached private bath and a flat screen TV, 1 bedroom with a Full bed and a third bedroom with two Twin beds. The full-sized bedroom and Twin bedroom offer a Jack-and-Jill bath in between. The Twin bedroom also offers a lake view balcony.

Nearby attractions include the civil war museum (look for info on the Ft. Fisher Hermit) and the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher. The live oaks at Fort Fisher are a perfect back drop for photos. Water sports are in abundance nearby with charter fishing, jet ski rental, surfing lessons, and sea kayaking! Don’t worry --- a surf shop and rentals are within walking distance. Want to golf? Two challenging golf courses are less than 10 minutes away. Whether it is sunbathing on the beach, sightseeing, watching a free outdoor movie on Sunday nights at the Lake (located just across the road), renting scooters or a golf cart, there is lots to do on Pleasure Island!

Labor Day Weekend

This property is all about location!!! We never moved our cars. Beautiful views ocean/sunsets. We were a party of 9 including 2 babies. Only neg is that the air conditioning does not work downstairs. All the bedrooms are down there except one. Upstairs works perfect. There are fans that made it doable. The light is out in the fridge. Would stay again.

Big Blue Review

Overall, Big Blue was pretty nice. The porch facing the ocean is the smallest porch on the house, though, which we thought was odd. You can't fit more than 3 chairs on it. No TV in the master suite, which isn't a deal breaker, but the WiFi didn't work in the master suite, either. It seemed adequate in the rest of the house. Direct access to the garage from the house would've been nice.

Wonderful trip!

This was my first trip to Carolina Beach and I had no idea what different areas were like. This was a delightful home with ocean views and right at the beach access. Everything we needed was within walking or a 5 minute drive. Our plans were to travel to different places nearby to explore (the ferry, fort fisher, hiking trails, …..) however the home and the beach were so great we never made the excursions.

AC unit gave us fits halfway through the week, but the property managers were very responsive and got it back to normal working within 24hrs.

Perfect pre-season trip!

We stayed for 5 days right before the season started and luckily for us the weather was great! Being so close to the beach access allowed us to go down for a couple hours, come back up, and back down again with ease. The house was nicely decorated and welcoming. I liked that it was one a one way street so there wasn’t much thru traffic and it was quiet in the morning for coffee on the balcony. There was a pop up market at the lake we visited and it was a very short walk. This property is close enough to the boardwalk that you don’t have to drive but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle. We recommend and would stay again! Thank you.

Fantastic location & super nice home

The house is right next to the beach entrance, so that's super convenient. The stores and ice cream shop are right around the corner within walking distance. Each floor of the house is very nice, well taken care of, and furnished nicely. A bonus is that the house has a deck on each end of the house, so you can see sunrise & sunsets!

The AC was not working upstairs when we arrived. Even after 2 different maintenance visits, the AC was not working. We went to sleep the first night with all the windows open upstairs and several fans on and it was still 76 degrees. On the second day we were offered a portable AC unit and that lowered the temperature significantly but only in the bedroom. The stairs in the condo are a HAZARD for small children without a gate. Overall, I would not recommend staying here.

The location is awesome ! We had stayed in the #2 condo 3 years ago while it was still personally owned and loved it! This year we were in condo #1. Since then you can tell it is not near cared for. The front staircase entrance had a terrible odor and has trash and debris scattered. The kitchen faucet was loose and dishwasher gasket was dangling. Last morning of vacation was spent washing dishes by hand. We will not be staying here on the future.
