We did a family (2 parents, 2 grandparents and 2 six year olds) vacation. It could not have went better. Plenty of room, soft beds, the place was clean and the location was awesome. The kayaks were a hit!
We had a great weekend swimming in the lake and relaxing at the house. The house is comfortable and the location is great with lots to do. The kids loved the bunk beds and watching movies in the basement, as well as swimming in the lake. The guys loved the hockey game. We'll be back!
This house was perfect for a group! We had 7 girls and everyone fit comfortably. It’s right on the water so the views were great! It’s private and beautiful. The only thing was the upstairs never got the air conditioning so it was very hot but with the fan and windows open it wasn’t the worst. Loved this house.
My husband and two kids had a wonderful relaxing week at Anthony’s house. First, the house is just as advertised. It’s clean, spacious, full of light, and great views! It’s a short walk to the swimming area where we spent alot of time. It’s just an ice quiet community for a family getaway. Anthony was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend!
Best location by far in Brier Crest Woods. This house is right on the lake. You can fish right from the back yard! The house itself is clean, spacious, and nicely furnished. Loved hanging out on the huge deck and enjoying the view of the lake. Nice fire pit area for the evenings. There were 4 kayaks (2 regular, 1 fishing, 1 youth) that were perfect for our family. The boat launch was steps away. We had a wonderful, relaxing week. Anthony was easy to communicate with and answered all our questions. Definitely recommend!
The lake and setting around the house are beautiful, and there are many things to do in the surrounding area. Our family enjoyed canoeing the Delaware river, horseback riding, paint ball, and swimming to name a few. We also enjoyed a fire in the fire pit. We don't know if it is normal, but the lack of mosquitos was fantastic, and made enjoying the outdoors easy.
The house is nice and well maintained. We worried a bit about the rules governing the community in which the house is located, but they were common sense restrictions, and did not hamper any of our activities.

Truley Top Notch!
Could not have asked for a better week. The house is situated right on the lake providing breathtaking views, incredible sunsets and vistas as far as the eye can see. The fire pit was our favorite, roasting marshmallows and making s’mores, the kids loved every second of it.
There is fishing gear in the garage and we left a bunch of lures behind, my son actually caught his first fish there and he is only two years old!
The beds are comfortable and rooms are spacious. Highly recommend this property and will definitely be coming back.
Anthony was great and communicated quickly throughout the entire process.
Thanks again! See you soon!
Let me start with some history of myself to put the following in perspective.
I'm a retired Colonel...German heritage...stickler for details.
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the images of the property online and reading relevant reviews...some just whining. Made reservation and soon heard from Anthony...excellent.
All online communications were timely and satisfactory.
Upon arriving at the house we were excited to see the location, water views and functioning garage. Important because we have an orchard farm in NW PA and needed to "protect" the truck from any wondering Spotted Lantern Flies which you have in your county...and we don't in Clearfield. I left Blakeslee and drove straight to the farm today and wanted to ensure I wasn't bringing any unwanted Flies with me.
Was shocked when I opened the garage...almost shut it down and headed to a hotel to notify you of a refund request because the mold/mildew/fungus smell was overpowering...and I'm severely allergic. I left the door open just to allow ventilation and proceeded to enter the house from the deck. Before entering we spent time enjoying the view and the angle of the sun...we arrived at 1604L...so the lake and beach area were highlighted. We made mental note of the deck amenities and proceeded into the house. Extremely grateful the house was clean, A/C running on high with ceiling fan on "turbo"...felt good to be out of the humidity. My wife went to the kitchen since I carried up our cooler of food that needed refrigerated and I looked around the family room and noticed the window on the east side of the fireplace was opened, but the A/C was running. Made me think the place needed to be aired out and cooled down simultaneously. I was surprised when I went to close the window and the window crank was broken...I had to lean a metal chair from the deck against the window to hold it closed while I went inside to latch the window closed...of which only the upper latch worked. Truly...not a good start. Next we walked through the first floor to orient ourselves and then upstairs to the Master and landing area for another look at the lake. Another surprise awaited us there when I went to open the vertical blinds...the wand would only spin in my hand...did nothing to open/close the blinds...and some of the blinds were missing. We looked at each other and smiled...like being in base housing overseas. The venture into the masterbedroom was another shock...absolutely burning up from the setting sun sh
Our family enjoyed the house and location. It was the perfect size for all of us. Waking up on the lake was so peaceful. Every morning there were deer eating blueberries in the yard! The lake and beach were wonderful! I would have given this property a 5 star rating but it does need some maintenance and deep cleaning but nothing terrible. The pictures represent the property well. The owner was very helpful and his communication was great.
We absolutely would go back and stay again.
The house is spacious and comfortable, the view of the lake and backyard area are unbeatable, and the location being right next to the kayak racks and just around the corner from the beach area was very convenient for our group.
The property is nice but could use some updating. The outside deck is beyond in need of a new paint job, and the inside could also use some touch ups. As others have mentioned, the dining room table and chairs are just not great at all. The master bed was too firm for me to sleep on. The kayaks were nice, but the lake is pretty small. The chairs around the camp fire are falling apart. Security in the neighborhood was very present which was nice. All other things with the house were good. The local area doesn't have much to offer, but It was a nice quiet, relaxing visit.
Exceeded expectations, very clean, would stay again! Three teenage girls loved it! We enjoyed everything about this property, the location, lakefront view, kayaks, and firepit were favorites. Convenient to Lake Harmony and Jim Thorpe.
Wonderful responsiveness from the owner with any questions we had. We will be back!
This was a great house for two four-person families including small kids. The listing says to bring towels and linens, but there were no extra blankets, nor any hand towels in the bathrooms, nor kitchen towels. Not a major problem, just be prepared. I also wish there was more TP supplied, hand soap in the bathrooms, laundry detergent and more than four garbage bags. Again, just come prepared with some extra items. Other than that, the place was fantastic and clean. Our families truly had a great long weekend at the lake.
This lake house offers a lot of room—multiple bedrooms and a huge, very comfortable sofa in the main space. Great view of the lake, and easy access to the water. The property location is very convenient for ventures to Hickory Run State Park, about a 15-to-20-minute drive west. We were there for cross-country skiing in Hickory Run, so we didn’t use the kayaks (lake was frozen), but they were on site. Very quiet neighborhood, but, again, this was February. Owners specify that they do not provide linens or towels. For winter-time use, you might also bring a couple blankets for the first night here, as the electric heat will be set quite low before your arrival and will take a little while to warm the house fully once you turn it up. The fireplace works well but be sure to bring starter sticks. There’s plenty of fire wood stored under the deck. The second-floor lounge space is great for morning yoga. The vintage hockey game in the downstairs rec room was a nice find. The hot tub works very well and is pretty sweet after a long day hiking or skiing.
We truly enjoyed our stay at Briar Crest Woods. The house is just as advertised, and the view was even better. Upon arrival the house was clean, and directions from Anthony (owner) were clear.
Our group included 2 couples and a baby under the age of 1. The house was accommodating and accessible for each person. We got the most enjoyment out of hanging out by the fire, and getting to watch the deer gallop through the yard.
For us, unfortunately we arrived on the coldest and iciest weekend of the year. The house heat is turned off prior to arrival to protect the well pump. If you are traveling with little ones just prepare to bundle up while the house heats up. It took maybe 4 hours, but once warm was a truly cozy place.
Our group 10/10 recommends this stay, and loved the thought of returning in the summer for lake activities and fires outside.
Thank you again Anthony for the use of your home.
Had a great time with my girl's for my bachelorette weekend! Due to the snow, we did have a hiccup with the snow plows as they did not come out as I was told they would and we did get over 4 inches of now. Also, I suggest asking the host what is provided (coffee, detergent) etc as there are no details provided about items such as these. Otherwise, we all had a great time and I would recommend booking.
This is the best location and the house was perfect. Thank you Anthony for being a great host. I will definitely recommend to my friends and everyone who’s looking for a beautiful family vacation
This was the perfect spot to get away with family in the winter. We got to relax and hang out by the fire.

Thanksgiving holiday
This property was outdated on the inside, from the appliances, to not having a dishwasher, zero counter space and the family room was extremely misleading. The kitchen table was so old and scratched up with a vinyl tablecloth over it, there was no comfort at that table. The owner assured us that it had all the amenities for Thanksgiving dinner. My husband and I had to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on pots pans and bowls etc. because it was not stocked properly. I believe as a property is going to charge the amount of money that it did it should provide sheets and towels as well which it did not. very dissatisfied, we made the best that we could with what we had.
We really enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean and beds were comfortable. It was a nice fall retreat for us where had the fireplace going most of the weekend and could sit back and enjoy the lake and quiet area. Anthony was super responsive to any questions or concerns we had too. It’s easy to access from the highway as well.
After years of looking for the perfect Pocono Home, we came across this house on HGTV as it was featured on Lakefront Bargain Hunt. We immediately set up a viewing and purchased the home 2 months later. It is close to the excitement of the nearby resorts but offers solitude which is what we love most about the mountains. The view of the Lake never gets old.
What makes this property unique
Quiet, Family Friendly Community. Private Beach and Playground. Safe Roads for Walking and Biking. Incredible Lake Views throughout the day. Close to all of the Pocono tourism attractions.
