About this property

Marigny Magic 4br- Close to Frenchmen

Summary:
Less than a mile from the French Quarter lies this 4 bedroom/ 5 bed home in the Marigny. While beautifully updated with all the modern amenities, it has retained its original charm with tall ceilings, airy rooms with oversized windows and elegant touches like crown molding. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, particularly given Robert's grocery just across the street! Prime location walking distance to Frenchmen St and the French Quarter, but far enough away for quiet evenings!

The Space:
This is the perfect place for a group that wants to be in the middle of it all! You are three blocks from all the amazing live music of frenchmen street, and on the same block as a grocery store, and multiple coffee shops. Imagine sinking into a butter-soft leather sofa at the end of another day of sightseeing in the iconic French Quarter of New Orleans. Everyone has grabbed their favorite beverage and you’re ready to binge watch your favorite new series. Fire up the Smart TV with WiFi, relax, and enjoy your favorite streaming channels.

The kitchen here is gold for the group chef. With top of the line stainless steel appliances, solid-surface counters, and tons of cabinets and counter space, he or she will be cranking out everyone’s favorites in no time.
Start a new tradition and savor those meals al fresco, at the dining tables in your private courtyard, also featuring a very New Orleans fountain. This is also an ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine or cocktail.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, a dining table and chairs awaits indoors.
The primary bedroom is a huge space, complete with king size bed, and a wall of mirrored closets. It’s bold color scheme is a treat for your senses.
Three additional bedrooms each offer size beds.
One full and one half bath is shared amongst the four bedrooms.

The unit features a full kitchen, living room, and four bedrooms with 1.5 bathrooms. This house includes a patio perfect to enjoy your morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail in New Orleans' climate. The unit includes a desk and the highest speed Wi-Fi for the neighborhood.

Walking distance to:
Robert's Grocery Store
Starbucks
Who Dat Cafe
Horn's Cafe
Arabella Restaurant
New Orleans Food Co-op

AND MUCH MORE!

Guest Access:
The guests have access to laundry facilities and a vast courtyard that includes plenty of outdoor seating.

The Neighborhood:
The Faubourg Marigny neighborhood is the art and music center of the city. It is still very much a neighborhood with historic homes and corner shops. Rated one of the best neighborhoods in New Orleans, with locally owned art galleries, boutiques and restaurants popping up all over and at the center of it, the live music scene of Frenchmen st. St Claude is a budding new part of the new culinary and nightlife of our neighborhood, all within walking distance.

The Faubourg Marigny, commonly just Marigny, is a hip neighborhood just "below" (down river from) the French Quarter. Best known for the great live music district on Frenchmen Street, the Marigny also offers neighborhood cafes & businesses, historic architecture, and more. It has the air of what the French Quarter was in it's golden days. It has a few small hotels, and many bed-and-breakfasts, as well as a number of good restaurants, coffee shops, and music venues. Architecturally, the Marigny is known for its many styles of Creole cottages, most of which date to the 19th century. Its "heart" is Washington Square Park (bounded by Frenchmen Street, Royal Street, Dauphine Street, and Elysian Fields Avenue). Frenchmen Street is the main nightlife district, with half a dozen live music clubs and just as many restaurants in four short blocks. At Mardi Gras, the Marigny is one of the city's hidden hot spots. Very popular with locals, who enjoy partying in the streets without the busy atmosphere of Bourbon Street. Crowds gather at the corner of Royal and Kerlerec (outside of R-Bar Inn) as well as at the intersection of Royal and Franklin. Elaborate costumes are the order of the day, along with brass bands and many drummers. Two weeks before Mardi Gras, the Marigny is also the starting place for the Krewe du Vieux, a satirical, raunchy parade in 19th-century Carnival style! Complete with small floats drawn by krewe members and mules. Local cafes, restaurants and music venues line Frenchmen Street. Known for its bohemian atmosphere, the Marigny is home to many artists and musicians, as well as a sizable gay and lesbian population. Among its notable residents are chef Paul Prudhomme, painter James Michalopoulas, and actors Harry Shearer and Jennifer Coolidge, who can be seen around town when they're not working in L.A. Local writers include New Orleans mystery writers, Julie Smith and J.M. Redmann, as well as Andrei Codrescu, Michael Swindle, and Kevin Allman. Frenchmen Street is in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood just below the lower edge of the Quarter. A 4 block stretch of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops mixed with live music venues make it one of the city's most hip places, catering more to locals than tourists (though tourists are certainly welcome, and welcomed). On any given night, one might find modern jazz, swinging traditional jazz, Latin American style music, rockabilly, and more within this small area.

Perfect stay for a group of friends

The property was exactly what we needed for a weekend in NOLA - walking distance to Frenchman Street, Bourbon Street and a short cab ride to the airport and Super dome. The set up of the house was spacious and clean. There is only one shower between the two bathrooms but we did not run into any problems sharing between 8 people. The living room was a perfect set up to have some downtime and the kitchen was fully stocked with whatever you might need to cook. The management company had great communication and check in instructions. We would 100 percent book this property again the next time we are in NOLA.

Very nice place

Very nice property, would stay there again. Convenient location. House was clean and lovely. Back garden area a nice place to relax. Check in and communication were great, very responsive. Only two negatives, the property is not 2 full baths, it’s one and a half, and the ice maker not hooked up so no ice

Only 1 shower

Great Location. Just beware there is only 1 shower and read the fine print as one of the bedrooms is only accessable by walking through the back bedroom. Not the best for couples. Well kept. Initially we had 4 couples. One couple chose to stay elsewhere which was fine. Eight people may have made it a bit crowded.

Only ONE bathroom!!!!!

The 7 women attending this weekend were told to “pretend like you are in college” “ you can choose to make the best of it or worse… your choice” !! I considered this rude and very unprofessional! The add clearly stated TWO bathrooms. We did make the best of it and we did have fun but there were bugs in the shower & empty beer bottles on the deck!

NOLA Trip

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was really close to the French Quarter, within walking distance or a quick Uber, it was super cold so we Ubered mostly. The house was clean and plenty of space. And the house is located near some really great food. We especially enjoyed brunch at The Ruby Slipper. If we make another NOLA trip we will definitely be staying here again!!
