Huge house and perfect yard!

This house was a great find! There were six of us and we had so much room. The upstairs is like its own apartment with a sink, refrigerator, bedroom, 2 extra beds, and bathroom. The children and grandchildren spent a lot of time upstairs playing ping pong and enjoying their own space. The upstairs balcony is huge and a great place to enjoy meals. The yard and outdoor toys were awesome! We were so thankful the rental included kayaks and a beautiful fire pit right on the canal. The docks made it super easy to get in/out of the kayaks and do some fishing. The house was located on a quiet street and it was very close to Publix (grocery shopping), restaurants, and other stores (Ace, Walmart, etc.) The owners labeled all of the light/fan switches and remote controls which was very helpful. It is obvious they paid attention to all of the small details! We hope to return and stay at this house again!

Very nice house. Loved the canal, great for relaxing and watching fish. Would have liked a walk in shower but managed fine, kitchen was extremely nice all appliances necessary, beds were great, but pillows were hard, advise bringing your own.

Great location!

I love this area, and the proximity to the central area of the springs where the manatees are is amazing! The house does have a much weirder layout than it appears in the photos, so a floor plan on the listing would be helpful. But overall it was a great house! The only complaints- there was not a single spare blanket in the entire house, and we were freezing with what was provided; and when I asked for more they never got back to me. And the pillows were hard as a rock! Also the bathroom doors don’t lock, which made some of our guests uncomfortable. And we had a handyman show up multiple times during our stay demanding access, even though I made it clear to him and the property manager that we weren’t comfortable with that, and he’d need to come back after our stay. I’d probably stay here again for the location, but wish the creature comforts were just a bit better taken care of.

Perfect Location in Hamosassa Springs

We have stayed in several Hamosassa rentals and this is our favorite so far! If you're looking to kayak, fish, or swim in the springs this is the perfect place to stay. There were more than enough kayaks for our group of 6 to paddle together, including 2 kid sized kayaks. The area is beautiful and there were many fish right outside the canal. We saw so many manatees from the kayaks, some right at the mouth of the canal. The property is also a short walk from the state park (although their are no sidewalks so you may want to drive.) As for the house itself, it was clean, had plenty of linens and a decent supply of cookware, and was very comfortable. Definitely one of the best rentals we have stayed in- we had no complaints whatsoever. The fire pit beside the canal was a nice touch for evening fun. Overall a great stay!

Family River Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at the home, however, it was cut short due to Tropical Storm Debby. Our children and grandchildren enjoyed kayaking to the springs which are very close by.

Weekend Birthday Trip

We loved the location with a short boat trip to the springs. The backyard area with fire pit was Thoroughly enjoyed. We rented a boat and was out most of the day. My only recommendation, if you like soft pillows, make sure you bring one with you.

Fantastic Relaxing Getaway!

We love Homosassa and this house is great for a large family getaway! House has EVERYTHING you need! Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds (bring your own pillow if you don't care for firm pillows - they are nice, but firm) multiple kayaks for your use, fire pit, corn hole, games room! Great quiet location. We will definitely stay again!

Spacious and great kayaking location

Spacious house. Beds were comfortable, although most pillows were huge and hard (more decorative than functional). Great decks and loved having access to kayaks that we could easily launch from the dock. Appreciated nightlights all over the house, A few cons: watered-down soap in the dispensers, no dressers to unpack into (although lots of closet space) and no lamps anywhere in the house so overhead lights were the only option for light in the evenings. But most of those negatives were personal preferences and overall the place worked well for our family.

Beautiful stay

We come to Homosassa and have stayed at many homes nearby. This one was unique because it had a lovely concrete area for our kids to ride scooters and draw with chalk when we weren’t on the water. The home has two docks and very easy access to the water. The home is located down a more narrow part of the river so the neighboring homes were very visible and there were several times we were outside and could easily hear the conversations from the house right across from us. Not a huge issue, but it was less privacy. In general, the home is spacious, has plenty of beds and bathrooms and a lovely kitchen. We loved the balconies and there were tons of kayaks to use. The fire pit is right next to the water which was nice. I would bring a few additional paper towels, trash bags, laundry pods and dish pods because they don’t provide quite enough for a full weeks stay but we did have a large group (4adults 5 young kids) so we didn’t mind. Great stay - we would stay again!

Moms' Getaway

A wonderful and relaxing stay! The house was very clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we'd need (minus the food 😉 ). Kayaks were easy to launch right from the dock. Beautiful river! Super-close to the state park. Would absolutely stay here again!

Great place!

The location was great- quiet cul de sac off the main road, and easy water access to Halls River from the canal behind the house. The house was very clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. We enjoyed playing cards & games in the rec room. The outdoor space and kayaks were a hit as well. It was warm out & noseeums were active in the evenings so we didn't get to enjoy the firepit but it looked nice. The only negative was the pillows were too large & firm for me but that's why you bring your own! I would absolutely book this house again.

Perfect vacation home

Out of all the homes I've rented for vacations, this one had the most amenities/supplies. The kitchen was stocked as if a professional chef could create gourmet meals. I've never seen another vacation home with everything you could dream of for cooking/baking. I've become good at bringing extra supplies to vacation rentals - like extra paper towels, toilet paper and garbage bags and I didn't need to use my own as this rental had enough supplied for our 3 day vacation. We loved seeing the manatee swim by while lounging on one of the two decks or on the dock. The amount of kayaks supplied with this rental was more than enough for the 6 adults we had. We loved playing ping pong on the one rainy evening we had. And the fire pit was perfect for the non-rainy nights. We had a few questions for the property manager and/or her assistant and they communicated promptly. Besides being well stocked, this home is well taken care of, beautifully decorated and super clean. Best vacation home I've ever rented!

Beautiful luxurious home in perfect spot

Wow! What a great place. Huge house with plenty of room for 6-9 people. The private river access is sublime, the kitchen is perfectly stocked, and manatees are right outside the door. I loved this house and will be back soon!

Pristine Property; Complicated Cleaning Instructions

Gorgeous—Spacious three story home; beautiful location—- could easily accommodate two families. Everything supplied from kayaks to blow dryer—- the only negatives were—- they deligated too many cleaning duties to guest vs cleaning service— for example—trash can outside was packed upon our arrival and we had to drag it to the street—- we discovered several pages of cleaning instructions stapled to kitchen bulletin board—- telling us when and how to take trash out—- recycling bin was also full so we weren’t able to separate trash as instructed. Upon departure—- we had to strip all beds used and put linen in pile—-clean out the lint in the dryer—- open the washing machine door—-empty trash cans for all floors—- remove all trash from house (thin plastic bag burst and we had to figure that out the best we could) put temp at 78— run dish washer if we used any dishes—- etc. since guest are charged a significant cleaning fee—- it’s is unreasonable to put so many house cleaning tasks on guests—- plus there is a 10am check-out time. However— other than those annoying “housekeeping chores” we enjoyed our stay—- how could we not— it’s a slice of old Florida waterfront—some people could find the flight of stairs up to the first floor—- and the additional stairs to the game room and extra bedrooms challenging or inconvenient—- particularly when you are downstairs enjoying the outside—- and realize you left something on the top floor. Decor was fun— house is very clean.

Great experience staying in the fish bowl!

This home's location is a gem and it has it all; however, if you have a trailer, the road is one-lane and dead ends (tricky to maneuver and you have to back out). The kitchen is fully stocked (which was important for us since we cook every meal); however, the plates were not microwavable. This was a challenge since I meal prep everything for the next day. The pingpong and card table were fun. The kayaks were a huge bonus. The grill worked great. We never used the fire pit, but we did enjoy jumping off the dock into the spring. Manatees, fish, rope swing, and fun at this spring. The beds are very firm and most of the pillows are rock hard. We did find some softer ones to use though. If you are particular, bring your own. Having the upstairs fridge and kitchenette was convenient. The 3 bedrm/3 bath set up was perfect for our family of 4. Scallops were not as plentiful as last year, but we still had a great time and brought home just enough for a ceviche appetizer. Management did take care of a few missing necessities and was responsive. The home was spotless and we would stay here again.

Couldn't get dreamier

We fell in love with this house, canal, kayaking, and visiting the manatees that hang out just beyond the canal, even in the heat of June. The manatees swam up the canal one evening. So fun to watch! The house is beyond relaxing and fun. Sitting on one of the balconies or the deck on the canal at night felt like evenings on the Bayou, just magical. We watched flopping fish and saw a turtle. The party lights made for a fun atmosphere! Not a lot of bugs except when we kayaked at dusk. Super quiet cul-de-sac road and dead-end canal. Kayaks for 6 plus 2 kiddie kayaks, life jackets for adults and at least two children, super easy launch, lots of water floaties and plenty of pool towels. Kitchen is very well-stocked, even a cupboard of spices and popping corn & popper. Only concern is the broken locks on the bathroom doors. Lots of stairs, I had a hard time distinguishing the bottom step coming down from the game room. This home and location were just perfect!
