Our family stayed ar the Lake House for five days. It is a beautiful home that is very spacious and was a perfect fit for our family. The weather was great while we were there and we spent a lot of time outdoors in the beautiful yard and lake. Would love to visit again.
I have stayed at over 20 plus places all over Canada and this by far is our favorite! We had 11 family members ranging from 18 to 75. Lorne and Lori went above and beyond and if any questions were asked, they were prompt to answer. This place was clean and had everything that you could possibly think of and need. We will be back next year! Thank you so much for the wonderful holiday!
Accommodations were wonderful - well set up, kitchens well outfitted, very accommodating for our large group - we enjoyed the comfortable beds, we enjoyed getting into the water off the dock and the little rocky beach, the kayaks and water toys, we enjoyed the multiple areas for sitting and visiting, and just viewing the scenery, we enjoyed the wildlife sightings in the yard - deer, otter, turtle, quail, geese and their babies and a spectacular array of northern lights. A great time was had by all. Thank you Lorne and Lori!
We were a family of 13 and had a perfect week at The Lakehouse! Lorne and Lori were great hosts in every way. I've stayed in a few VRBO's - this one is the best equipped by far. It had everything I would want at my own lakehouse. There was so much to do at the house and in the water, no one wanted to leave and explore the many local attractions on any of the days; however they are abundant if you want them. There was a great combination of relaxation and fun! Couldn't want for more from the location, the house, the hosts. I am so grateful for the week my family had at this VRBO. We definitely want to come back!
Excellent location, boat dock and lift. Spacious house. 3 non air-conditioned bedrooms were hot.
The kayaks, paddle boards, and rafts were an excellent way to spoil us. The yard and decks were spacious - excellent for a large group of people. We will highly recommend this property and we would love to return to it
Lorne and Lori’s Lakehouse is spectacular! Our family of 13 (10 adults, three kids) were blown away with the location and comforts of this incredible property. Beautifully renovated, cozy, with space for everyone. It’s was a special week for our family and the Lakehouse added to our memorable moments. Panoramic lake views and direct access to the lake was amazing… some days we felt we had the lake to ourselves! We loved every minute of our week stay! House was exactly as pictured, fully equipped with everything we needed/wanted - inside and out! The lily pads were tons of fun! Lorne and Lori were fantastic hosts, communicative and wonderful to deal with!
We enjoyed it all.. serene kayaking and morning coffee on the various patios, to jumping off the dock into the lake, paddle boarding and sharing stories and laughs over dinner on the patio… incredibly memorable, truly marvelous. Thanks Lorne and Lori for sharing your wonderful property! We can’t wait to come back!

This property was as advertised with plenty of space for our group. Check in and out was seamless, all the amenities we needed were there. I would come back and stay again.
Wonderful experience, private beach, quiet location, everything you could possibly need at the house including all the water toys. Great communication. Lots of room for our large group!
The property was a great spring time family retreat! 7 adults, 2 kids, and 1 large dog fit very comfortably in this house. The kitchens and bathrooms were very well stocked and having access to kayaks, paddle boards and a canoe was fantastic. Being spring, there were no fire bans so we were able to roast marshmallows (a first for my 81 year old mother-in-law) and the yard is such a nice size the Easter Bunny easily found many spots to hide eggs. The town of Vernon is close enough to easily replenish supplies but the house is located in a spot where you still feel far enough away to get away from it all. As others have mentioned, the stairs are too steep for most pets so our dog just took the stairs outside and used one of the two downstairs entrances, easy peasy. The hosts gave lots of great information and were very easy to communicate with. A great experience all around.
We stayed at The LakeHouse for a week with several friends and had an amazing time. The hosts were very informative and responsive throughout the trip.
The LakeHouse itself was very homey, clean, and had so many different areas for the group to settle down together or into smaller groups (multiple balconies, the dock, by the fire, etc).
The location is quite convenient, a short drive away for any groceries and take out, a very manageable drive to wineries. However we had fun just hanging out and cooking in kitchen which was equipped with more than enough dishware, appliances, and tools.
Thank you for the lovely stay!
Lorne and Lori's Lakehouse is everything you might hope for in a family vacation property. The location, yard, beach, and dock are stunning. Big windows across the entire house of the gorgeous view, lots of room and space for a big group, easy access to wineries, golf and Vernon, but still quiet and private. Lorne and Lori were extremely responsive and helpful as we navigated an unusual wildfire season in BC. Great spot for a dog, as the yard is fully fenced and there was even a basket waiting full of puppy goodies. We appreciated the opportunity to gently use the kayaks and paddleboards, and we spent lots of time in the clean lake water. Thank you so much for a memorable and lovely holiday!
We rented the family Lakehouse cabin for a week in July for seven of us. Everything is exactly as advertised. The cabin is very well equipped with everything and more that you need during your stay. It’s nice having so many bedroom options and bathrooms to accommodate everyone. The stairs to the downstairs suite are a little narrow and would not be easy to use for very young children or the elderly. But there are so many other bedroom options upstairs to choose from to avoid that. They have a great dock, boatlift and toys to use during your stay. The yard was well manicured and a treat to have. Lots of windows and several outdoor sitting areas were nice to enjoy a coffee and some peace and quiet in the mornings. The only thing I would mention is that although there is parking for your boat/trailer it is a little challenging to back it down the long steep driveway, but it is absolutely doable. The owners do an amazing job checking in with you and giving instructions leading up to your stay. We would definitely recommend staying at the Lakehouse and would certainly come back again! Thanks for sharing your place with us…wonderful memories were made and lots of laughs were had!
Of all the houses we’ve rented on our several bike trips, this is hands down the best. One that we were very sorry to leave and very eager to get back to, asap. The owners are very responsive, accommodating and always ready to provide tips on what to do and see. I highly recommend the Lakehouse

About the host
Hosted by Lorne and Lori
We are an active family with historical homesteading roots in the Okanagan Valley, it's orchards, ranching and farming. This is our summer home that is located centrally for family to gather. The home is an older home upgraded as a labour of love for our family to enjoy.
We like being on the water and mountain trails and want to share that with other families, when we are away traveling.
Why they chose this property
Our home is a perfect fit for you, if you like being outside, active and share good times with family There is lots of room for family to gather around the fire pit, the dinner table or lazing at the beach. We never grow tired of the views.
What makes this property unique
Our home has a gradual entry beach for young children a long dock and boat lift for the adult child in you. The sloping grassy yard and gardens add to the amazing views. For your family members who may not be as active as they used to be, the floor to ceiling windows and upper decks at the walk in level makes the home reasonably accessible for all the family to share the memories together. Lakeside firepit makes for great stargazing at night.
Hiking and biking trails are plentiful in the hills surrounding the LakeHouse, right outside our door. Within 30-45 minutes of: Silver Star resort for nordic, downhill skiing and biking park, Championship golf at The Rise and Predator Ridge, world class wineries and an international airport. There are over 300 vineyards hosting over 180 licensed wineries along the 84 miles of Okanagan Lake.
