Great creek views

The cabin was cozy and had all the little extras to make the trip hassle free. The creek views were amazing. Would love to come back when it’s warmer in order to enjoy the outdoor space.

Loved the Creek and Wildlife

The Creek and Wildlife were the best part of my stay. The cabin itself is tiny but the cabana and other outside seating offered a lot of extra space. I spent a good portion of my time outside with the amazing lizards, birds, and other amazing wildlife. Cabin furniture could definitely use updating (old and stained) but everything was clean and cozy.

Recent stay

The cabin and surroundings were just as we had hoped….sitting and eating on the patio with the creek below was so relaxing….would and hope to return again !!! We loved our stay. my ONLY negative, and purely out of the hands of the host was the dogs that lived across the park that barked continually,!!!! just broke the wonderful sounds of nature, but that being said I would absolutely book the cabin again…

Cute

Very quaint cottage. Loved the little cabana. Floors were not clean, lots of cobwebs, toilet base was dirty with pee. Couch smells very old, but I have to say it was comfortable. Beds were fine. We did enjoy the cooler weather.

Will not be returning

It being a small cabin is fine, but the furniture desperately needs to be updated. It's dirty and extremely uncomfortable. The only comfortable place to sit is on one of the beds. As much as you're charging, you should at least have decent furniture.

Beaver Valley Experience

Beautiful quiet property with wild life visitors almost daily ( hummingbirds and elk ). The cabin is small but well equipped with clean linens and kitchen utensils. We throughly enjoyed the patio, gas grill and comfortable outdoor furniture. Great place to read or listen to the little stream and watch the evening sky. There is a small playground in the neighborhood. Number of areas to explore nearby some in the immediate area and others like Tonto Natural Bridge are only a short drive. The town of Payson is only 8 miles away where we found historical sites, farmers market, fun antique shopping, good restaurants and churches. The owner quickly responded to any questions. We will definitely return to the River Cabin in the not to distant future.

Weekend Getaway

Booking and checking in was really easy. There’s no signal upon arrival so I recommend writing directions down ahead of time until you’re able to log into the Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi worked well. The backyard is amazing with natural steps down the the river/creek. The water level was pretty low but we still managed to catch two trout while we were there. The cabin is comfy and laid out nicely. My only two complaints are that the beds were not too comfortable (springy) and the shower head is too low. (I am 5’10” and it was level with my chin. )The hot water works REALLY well. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and the full size fridge was much appreciated.

Perfect mental get away

I was hoping I picked a good spot to get away from the city, and this spot was the cherry on a ice cream sundae. It hit the spot in my heart , my highlight was hearing a baby Elk looking for mom right next to my window , and then hearing the Mom calling out to her baby , they both met in the creek down below our cabin. I was so excited lol. The owners of the cabin made us feel very welcomed and it was stocked just like it said it would be . I can go on and on but don’t miss out on this , you won’t be disappointed!

Nature and Nostalgia

It is the perfect little cabin with nature and nostalgia. Two clean bedrooms, ample living space with kitchen table, full size fridge, microwave, and likely other amenities I don't recall as I didn't need them during my stay. On the second night we were relaxing in the living room when we heard something outside. Oh it was just an elk strolling through the front yard. We had three sightings in total during our three day stay. We took the board games (supplied with cabin) and our guitar and hung out in the panoramic cabana the next day. The creek is right behind the cabin to listen and enjoy. A great escape with thoughtful owners.

Riverside Cabin

My wife and I have stayed at this particular cabin several times over the past couple of years. We continue to return because the couple that owns this cabin are absolutely the best and most friendly folks we've ever met. They are more like "dear friends" or family truth be told. And, we love the area, the cabin and the people that live in the immediate area. It is always an enjoyable time. The weather, the environment, the cabin and everything that this area has to offer is more like our home - away from home. My wife and I will continue to rent this unit in the future as it is our favorite place to relax and have a pleasant time. The cabin is always ready, clean & tidy. The owners truly make the difference at this retreat. We have found a place that is reasonable, always pristine and I would be tickled if I were the owner. As long as the Johnson's own this little secret we will continue to book this facility. Our plans call for us to be in Payson about every 4 months and this will always be our 1st choice - bar none.

Wonderful Vaca

The basics are all covered, clean cabin, everything was perfect! Cabaña in back which my 18 year old grandson claimed first for himself. Chairs and picnic table located on a patio where you can sit all day and watch the creek/river go by. It is where we spent the majority of our time. 4 generations; myself 70+ y/o mom and grandma, my son (a school teacher), his son (my 18 year old grandson) and my son's oldest daughter's 7 year old boy. They skipped rocks in the river; we hiked in the woods, we watched animals; squirrels, skunks, lizards, and an Elk which came right up close while grazing. We stayed quiet and let him do his thing then he wandered off, just magnificent. We went to the small playground which was very nice. Overall, we would recommend this stay to everyone. What a great trip and the cabin was perfect!!! Thank you so much.

Relaxing getaway

We were looking for a relaxing getaway while not spending hours in the car to get there. This fit all our needs! It’s close enough to some good restaurants and lots of trails of all abilities, but really just relaxing at the cabin, on the patio and near the stream were the relaxation we were looking for. We’ll definitely be back!
