The house was nice but at the same time it needs a lot of upgrades. Like the chairs and charcoal grill needs to be replaced then the back spare room bed and the living room couch were both hard as rocks and need to be replaced. Then the Wi-Fi needs to be upgraded because it barely worked and when you did get it to work it was lagging and then it shuts down all the time.
Also around my 3rd day there a guy showed up and he said he lives in the basement apartment he said he wasn’t the owner or grounds keeper. The house online said entire house for rent there was nothing said about the guy living in the basement. So I had no idea someone would be there and its something that the owner should have told me and I brought my kids with me. Then on the last day or two I caught the man taking photos of me and the kids and he sat out and watched us all day and playing loud music. I’m very disappointed and upset over this.
The host was responsive which made checking in and asking questions no problems. The house is cozy and clean. The kitchen is well stocked if you plan to cook.
The house is on the end of the street and it was very quiet. The downtown area is not far as well as a publix if you need groceries.
The outdoor furniture and canoe was not super clean, so we didn’t want to sit outside. When we did use the canoe, we had to clean it first. The dock really could use a better ladder. Currently there is a wooden ladder that is very slippery from algae. The metal lounge chairs on the dock had no cushions, so you couldn’t really use them. The fire pit was filled with debris, leaves and branches. We didn’t want to clean it out, so we didn’t use that either.
Overall, we found that the house was fine, the beds were comfortable, but for outdoor enjoyment we explored other areas of the lake.

Our getaway
We feel that it should’ve been disclosed that the property manager lives on site under the house. The dock also needs a really good cleaning peppermint oil and water will work wonders on all the spiderwebs and spiders. The lake was beautiful, has friendly neighbors, and the king size bed was comfy
Really cool, level lake lot. Great for fishing trips or just chilling outside. Was grateful to be able to bring our pups. The home served its purpose but we spent most of our time outside because it’s really beautiful there. Lots of deer, privacy, and quiet. Enjoyed coffee every morning by the dock.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. Location was ideal, the lake was beautiful, our host was communicative and everything was as promised!! look forward to coming back.
We just finished staying for a week at this property. It was an older property but very functional. The kitchen was fully furnished and the master bedroom was nice with comfortable bed. The only complaint was that it was misrepresented about having TV's. It had TV's but no cable. The TV in the living room was modern with streaming services but you couldn't watch network TV without using a streaming TV service like YouTube TV or Sling.
We arrived at the house we reserved the air conditioner was broke . We called the office and the took immediate action with the maintenance staff, we were moved to another home that was much nicer for our needs. The Hoffie house . We enjoyed our stay on the lake and would return if we are in that area again. Great dock and swimming.
Nice outdoor area - Main family room area - Needs TLC and Updates
This property has a list of Pros and Cons to be considered.
Pros - Lakeside area very nice with a large table for dining and nice chairs with cushions. Fire pit area. Friendly neighbor. Upstairs master is the best room in the house. Comfortable beds upstairs. Nice TVs in each room with cable. Grill was filled with gas and well appointed with tools.
Cons - Main living and dining area is very small. Seating for maybe three or four people. Not enough room for a family to have dinner. This can’t be overcome. One half of the dock is rotted and must be made a priority to finish repairing. Long strip of muddy drainage area should be filled. Many bugs of various types but also may be the wooded lake location. Porch needs pressure washing and cleaning after each guest. Bathrooms need new shower curtains or glass doors installed. Mildew present and very dark while showering. Carpet needs to be replaced. I would not recommend swimming off the dock due to debris (cove location). Very narrow path to try and dock a boat.
Overall enjoyed the stay after first impressions were overcome and thankful for nice weather to stay outside most of the time.
The neighborhood was great. Very friendly neighbors. House could of used some exterior cleaning. This home served the purpose of a quiet weekend we were looking for relaxing and fishing. The dock is in need of repairs. Home needs a little TLC, but no major complaints.
This is a lovely, cozy home tucked away on a beautiful cove-front lot in a nice area. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, bathrooms well-appointed, new appliances, rebuilt dock, outdoor seating area with fire pit, kayaks... everything you need for a lake getaway. Owners were good communicators and check-in/check-out was easy.
Cute space and place. Just as advertised. We had a stroke of pouring rain for 48 hours so were limited on enjoying the lake front but enjoyed a few walks up through the neighborhood in between showers. We were looking for a departure from the crazy busy city and it is just what we got! Netflix, jigsaw puzzle, and quiet rest!
I rented this for my parents and brother during my wedding weekend on Lake Oconee. It was the perfect spot for them to rest and relax just a short drive away from the festivities. The owners were easy to get in touch with and very responsive to our questions. The house was very clean and the perfect size for them. Would definitely recommend!
Great place. We had a nice two days here during December. No issues at all. Very peaceful and quiet. Loved the area!

It’s a lot like a fancy cabin - charming
The experience with the owners was great and you can tell they are trying to put a number of nice touches with the cabin by offering laundry detergent, dish soap, spices, rolled towels etc but it’s a little more run down than I was expecting for lake oconee. The inside needs new paint and new tubs as they are so worn that they don’t look clean. They are clean but they don’t look clean. It is a well equipped kitchen however several pieces must not be used often or were never cleaned thoroughly as some were greasy. All the pots and pans and dishes should be washed and inspected. There are too many decorations in my opinion that leaves little space for cooking. Once we removed many of those to the spare room, we had plenty of space. It’s a good size for 4 people but 6 adults would have been too tight. There would not have been enough seating. The outside desperately needs paint and the patio pressures washed, it was too grimy to sit on the porch but the lot is very pretty and you feel like you’re on an exclusive camp site. The dock was being replaced while we were there so the new part was lovely to sit on. The old part will hopefully be replaced soon. The chairs outside by the dock felt new and were quite lovely to sit and watch the sunset. We did take advantage of the fire pit and that was fun.
This was a nice get away. The house is nestled at the end of its cove. Which for us was great! The kids could splash and pretend to fish without the worry of incoming vessels. We were able easily tie up our jet ski after launching it at the nearby launch. The on property kayaks were fun to try as well. We loved the fact that there were enough trees to give the option of shade someplace all day. We took my parents along and the gentle slope down to the dock was fine for my mom to handle. We enjoyed the dockside table and the girls made sure they enjoyed s’mores in the fire pit most nights. The year round neighbors are kind and will enjoy talking about their latest catch and give suggestions on places to check out.
The house itself could use some TLC. Some water damage noted in the ceilings, smoke alarms missing and hot water was at times fickle. Non of these warranted a call or text to the owners but I’m sure they would have had solutions for a couple of the stated items had I asked. The main floor is charming and the kitchen is well stocked with bowls, pans, plates ect. This was nice since we made most of the meals due to Covid.
One suggestion I would have would be to have a place in each room to to able
to unpack. One room has a nice dresser but the other two rooms did not. The closets hold owners personal items and made it necessary to live out of our suitcases for the week. Honestly if that was my biggest issue of the week I call it a successful vacation!
The house needs some TLC but we had a great time. Enjoyed the water, fire pit and we barbecued. We had a small issue with the kitchen faucet but DJ called me right away and we got it fixed immediately. Stairs to second floor are steep so I chose to use the downstairs bedroom. I recommended a way to get in and out of the lake easier and DJ said she's working on that now. I also had trouble with the TV as I'm not familiar with Hulu and couldn't get any live TV. I didn't get a good first impression so I gave it 4 stars.
Loved kayaking in the lake. Weather was perfect. Large bedrooms for two adult children and us. Common space not huge but do-able. Nice to have TV in each room for down time.
We had a nice time at the property, DJ was very responsive to questions. The pictures are representative of the house and lake. We spent most of our time sitting down by the lake, swimming, kayaking and using the fire pit.
Nice quiet location. Kayaks were great to have for the family. Dining space is somewhat limited but worked well for the four of us.

Why they chose this property
Wonderful lake from home with great sunsets. Fabulous location with beautiful lake views from the entire downstairs living area, kitchen and even the oversized master bedroom. Kayaks are included and there are great spots to kayak to to explore the lake. Quick boat ride in either direction takes you to many lake front restaurants to dine. Newly added outdoor fire pit area down by the dock for smores and sunset fun!
