About this property

Cute Casita in North Park with backyard

“Casita California” is my fun and colorful Studio with balcony and backyard in historic and trendy North Park. Just 3 miles from downtown, near public transport and all the “must-sees” like the Zoo and Balboa Park as well as the beaches!

The Bedroom includes a queen-size bed and a twin sleeper sofa - perfect for a family trip or couples getaway.

Take your morning coffee to the balcony or on the gazebo, that has a view of North Park. Gather for a glass of wine in the backyard with outdoor seating and nice lighting. Or cook inside: the small kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with everything you will need.

You will have access to a garage (it will only fit a SMALL car) during your stay, or you can park on the street where there is free street parking.

This apartment was designed to be lively, colorful, and inviting, with its own old charm California flavor. Lots of primary colors and fun patterns in the bedrooms and living area. Other goodies at the apartment: Free WiFi throughout, washer and dryer, a HUGE Walk in Closet and a flat-screen TV with Netflix.

Stay in or head out; eat, drink and play in North Park or downtown in the Gaslamp; relax on the gazebo or enjoy the sweeping views. And most importantly - have fun! (And let me know how I can help.)

My neighborhood, North Park, is one of San Diego’s most historic and funky places to be. It's home to artists, local businesses, a Farmers Market, craft beer, wine bars, sushi spots, handmade ice cream, and your pick of brunch options. Guests love North Park’s neighborhood vibe, even though it’s just 3 miles from downtown and The Gaslamp. Century-old architecture and the ringing of church bells during the day in North Park add to its historic feel. And my house fits right in!

No need to worry about a car. You have your pick of coffee shops, restaurants and boutiques just a few blocks away. Easy public transport is just around the corner, taking you to downtown and all places San Diego. Uber rides are quick and convenient, too, getting you into downtown in less than 5 minutes.

You will have this entire house its balcony and backyard to yourself.

I'm just a e-mail, text message, or call away! I can guide you through the check-in process, as well as answer any questions you have while you’re here. San Diego is my favorite city in the world, and I live for helping guests discover why I love it so much.

North Park is a residential neighborhood and is not a place for big loud parties. Small gatherings with family and friends are totally fine and this is just the place for it; just please let me know in advance if you plan to invite guests who are not included in your reservation and turn the volume down at all times!

Casita/garage

Internet was terrible. We were there for a medical convention and coincidentally had a 5-Hour interview for residency. We checked the internet as soon as we got there and it was so bad we immediately contacted the owners or manager. They gave us a different internet code but it was still so bad that we lost contact with the interviewer three times. The front or rather back street garage entry was filthy and disgusting. There was a sanitary napkin laying right at the entry step there were four gigantic garbage cans which were constantly in the way of the door. I tried to move them and someone actually lined them up blocking the front entry. It was very cold. There was no insulation whatsoever on the two doors. The wind blew out the water heater so the water was freezing cold for the first day. In the welcome email they said we could use the laundry facility. They also listed price by price things we could rent such as chairs and beach toys for children. But they forgot to mention that we needed $10 in quarters to use the laundry so we were counting on using it and went down the next day and realized we were up a creek.

Beautiful Cali

Overall enjoyed our stay very much! Cozy house, nice backyard space, comfortable bed, great sunrise view, AMAZING shower. Cons: parking IS an issue, after about 4-5pm, you may have to walk up to a half mile. The dining room walls are pretty dusty, chair seats stained. And the bed is next to a window, that gets sunrise beam of light-no curtain.
