We had a wonderful time. The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed.
Andrew was a great host. He met us at the cottage, was a pleasure to deal with and was very helpful and accommodating.
We enjoyed swimming, fires by the dock and beautiful sunsets. We would highly recommend this little piece of paradise.
We had a wonderful stay. The islands were astounding. Many things to do both on the water and off. Our host recommended 2 restaurants that were excellent. Fishing was fantastic. Great place to relax.
Our family of three had a perfect week at Sunset Cove! Mornings reading on the deck, afternoons on the water, sunset campfires on the concrete dock. Andrew was a wonderful host - when we had a minor issue with the air conditioner, he came right out and took care of it. The location is great - right in the middle of everything, and also perfectly private. Boat rental went smoothly, and we had so much fun exploring the river and islands. Can’t wait to come back!
We had a wonderful stay! The cottage had everything we needed, the island is centrally located to a lot of amenities of the area, and the fishing was fabulous (even from our own dock!). The island was very easy to get to and just minutes from where we launched in Ivy Lea. The new dock was perfect for our 18ft pontoon, and the other dock was great for sitting around an evening fire and afternoon
yoga!
The hosts were very accomodating and easy to communicate with.
We will be back😁
Andrew is a wonderful host and we really loved staying at his house. The multiple docks, super fast internet service, simple check-in and check-out procedures and incredible sunset views make this a standout winner among rental homes in the area. Thank you to Andrew and Julie for being such great hosts!
Hosts Andrew and Julie could not have been more accommodating. The property was exactly as they described in the listing. The location was central to A-Bay, Clayton & Gananoque. It was also close to some of our favorite fisheries. The views both in the day and evening were georgous. We will be returning!
Julie and Andrew‘s cottage on the river was a dream getaway. All the amenities we could possibly need or want were right at our fingertips. Their clean, spacious, cozy, cottage with spectacular views of the river and morning sunrises and evening sunsets were breathtaking. Our family enjoyed every moment! Our pontoon boat was safely and conveniently tucked away on one of th their new docks. We enjoyed short jaunts to the Ivy Club or into Rockport from Sunset Cove and had a full day of boating to Alexandria Bay and around Wellesley Island! Thank you for your hospitality and kindness throughout our stay. We will definitely be back!
Everything we anticipated, and more. A comfortable home from home. The house and island were exactly what we were looking for. Andrew, the host, was helpful to the nth degree re transportation, answering questions, before and during our stay, giving us a tour of the area and house. He, his wife and partner were very welcoming and pleasant. A place we would be happy to visit again some time. Brian and Kent
Our family spent a long weekend in the Fall at Sunset Cove and loved it. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The views of the main channel, 1000 island bridge lights and sunset were beautiful. The pathways to the docks are softly illuminated at night which gave a nice warm feel to the surroundings. Our host, Andrew, was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We highly recommend this property and look forward to returning to it in the summer months.
We’ve been staying at various places in the 1000 islands area for the last 20+ years and this cottage was in the best location of all. Easy to rent a boat nearby, simple to dock, and incredible views. Andrew was the ultimate host too. Great getaway and we certainly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay on the island; Andrew was a super host and the cottage is a gem in the islands. Lots of activity on the water and yet peaceful. Great swimming- great fishing and a great place to have family drop by for a visit. Comfy bed and fires on a cooler night - loved it. We highly recommend this island if you’re visiting the area-
The cottage is lovely with a beautiful view and comfy beds. The loft, deck and docks offer a gorgeous scene if the river and boats that go by. Everything is clean and modern. A lovely relaxing place.
Fantastic place for a family, well located, close to many beautiful places where you can fish or relax. The view of the cottage is amazing with the sunset.
The fishery is just incredible.
I recommend you this place !
Andrew was very kind and very easy to communicate with.
Amazing location and great views all around. Great communication with Andrew at all steps during booking. Place is rustic and did met our needs perfectly. Lots to see and do in area if you have your own boat.
Thank you Andrew and Julie, Your cottage is an absolute gem! It's clean, has all amenities needed and the view is stunning! We had a wonderful relaxing week.. we enjoyed, great meals, cozy fires, beautiful sunsets and boating around the islands. We would definitely return and recommend your place to our friends.
From beginning to end this stay was amazing. First of all it’s on a semi-private island. To get there you can boat or take the water taxi. The water taxi driver that Andrew hooked us up with, Matt at Dnd Marine Transport was fantastic! He was punctual, communicative and really pleasant to deal with. You also get to boat right under the 1000 island bridge, which at night is a stunning experience. The cottage itself is as gorgeous as the photos, the interior design is the perfect mix or trendy and classic. Bring some easy light wood logs for the wood-stove as the ambience it creates is so relaxing you’ll want to have them burning the whole time. The loft is next level, you feel on top of the world looking out at the water from the 2 story windows. The stairs are a little steep so keep that in mind if you have limited mobility. The bed is super comfy! They have everything you need for cooking, we hosted a small gathering (with permission from the host) and we had everything we needed. Andrew was so kind to let us have a small engagement party there, the guest were blown away and there was plenty of space to lounge and chat. The 2 standout features for us was 1. The sunset. OMG, it was breathtaking, we got so many good photos of the couple on the dock surrounded by pinks and oranges, the most beautiful sunset I’ve seen. 2. The water, it was the kind of blue green you see in BC or in the tropics. I thought the pictures on here were photoshopped but that’s really the colour of the water!
Honestly, I could not have ask for a more accommodating and communicative host or more beautiful location. You won’t be disappointed.
This cabin in the woods is the perfect place to escape to. Communication with Andrew was constant and helpful. With the need for extra parking, questions about island life with a baby etc.. he was resourceful and quick to respond.
Upon arrival Andrew met us to show us the ropes. The place was spotless and every amenity you could think of is available. We enjoyed it all from building fires to barbecuing family dinners to watching the leaves change all around us from the dock.
We would definitely reccomend and can't wait to return.
