Originally started as a summer resort destination, Steamboat has become renowned for its world-class skiing and mountain biking options. And your Steamboat vacation rental will put your family in the middle of it all.

Winter activities include skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, biking, sledding and fishing. The city houses two ski areas – Steamboat and Howelsen Hill, Colorado's oldest continuously operated ski area. Or simply play in the smooth, dry snow, referred to as Champagne Powder, for which Steamboat is known.

Mountain biking is huge in Steamboat. Known as Bike Town USA, the city has trails for all ages and skill levels. Hundreds of miles of single track, as well as over 50 miles of downhill and freeride terrain.

** In March 2020 when the resort shut down, we gave refunds for any unused nights and would do that again.

Charming ski-in ski-out
This was a comfortable and inviting place to stay for a ski vacation in steamboat. The kitchen has everything you’ll need and you have a great view of the slopes from the living room. The host was responsive and communication was easy. Only complaint was the elevator was out of service.

Left in the cold
We had a group of 5 of us stay at a lovely condo in Steamboat Springs in January 2025. The unit was located in Storm Meadows. The unit was great and suited our needs. However the management company was less to be desired. Upon arrival, we were given 1 room key. Because we had 2 teenagers that wanted to ski at the crack of down and a younger child who wanted to ski later in the day, I called upon arrival to request another key card and another set of sheets for the air mattress. They stated that they would put in a request to have the key delivered that night or in the morning. I didn't receive a key that night so I called the next morning at 8:30am and let them know that we were planning our day and needed another key. They stated they would put in a work order and would have it dropped off by morning to midday. I told my teenagers to take the key as another key was being dropped off by midday. I was with my young son and because it was 15 degrees he was ready to be done skiing at 2:30. We went to the lockbox and no key so we couldn't get into the building. I called again and they said they had dropped them off but they were not in the lockbox so not sure if the drop off ever happened or they were placed in the wrong lockbox. I asked to speak to a manager and asked if there was a key to at least get into the building and there was none and it would be another hour until someone could get a key to us as they were understaffed. My young son and I stood waiting outside in the 15 degree weather until he had to go to the restroom so we walked back to the base of the mountain so he could use the restroom and warm up. It in fact took an hour for them to get us our key. Lesson learned to request another key if you need it and ask to have it delivered before you depart the building as there is no other way to get in. Those sheets that I asked for when we arrived, I finally got them on Friday afternoon around 6pm. I'm giving the rating that I am based on the management company and not the unit.

Solid Rental for our Family on the slopes
We stayed this MLK weekend during the cold front and loved the location and the ability to easily ski in and walk to the slopes to take short breaks, have lunch, or simply warm up. Sure, the building is a little dated but it was clean and cared for. The unit itself embraces its retro roots and is decorated well. The bedroom layouts allowed for ample sleeping space for the four of us while the living space was separated from the vestibule and staging of all of our ski gear. Solid place!

Steamboat
The location was perfect for beginning and concluding the skiing day. However, they require more than one parking pass, a significant problem for parking a second car overnight. Additionally, there were general cleaning issues, and dirty dishes were found in the cabinets. It would be great if the place could receive a facelift and better furniture.

Great location, comfortable spot!
5 of us stayed here (2 couples plus a friend) and we all had a comfortable stay. The ski access is great- from the unit, you walk down 2 flights of stairs, grab your stuff from the ski locker, walk outside with your gear, go down another flight of outdoor stairs, then walk about 200 feet to the catwalk. The ride down the catwalk to the base/gondola is about 2 minutes. When you return, you can ski right up to the door you exited from where the ski lockers are. The beds are new and the couches comfortable. Fireplace was cozy. Kitchen well stocked.

Highly recommend
Such a great trip! Great location. So easy to ski in and not hard at all to walk a few steps to ski out. Itrip was a class act to work with. We accidentally pressed the button on the door that was a hard lock, meaning it wouldn’t allow our keys to work. The folks at itrip were great iinhelping us get back in. They checked in several times to make sure all was good, which I appreciated. I would also highly recommend ski gauze for equipment rental. It is a super short drive (just a few minutes) outside of the ski resort area. The quality of boots, skis, boards and helmets was fantastic. And, an easy location to drive up to, load the equipment and then head back. Logistically, we hadn’t thought through how we would return our equipment the last day, as our car was loaded with our bags since we had to check out. The folks at ski house told us to call them and they would meet us to grab our equipment. So convenient! Would highly recommend both storm meadows and ski hause!

Embrace retro
The exterior of this building says “faded 80’s glory”, but the interior of this unit embraces those glory days. There is retro nostalgia all around, charmingly well-appointed and comfortable. In fact, the whole experience was very Steamboat-esque…comfortable, charming, but not pretentious or stuffy. Built into the side of a hill, the unit has a lovely deck with a view of the ski hill, which we enjoyed every morning with coffee. We stayed over a particularly hot summer weekend, but because this is a corner unit, we were able to get a decent cross breeze through the bedrooms. Despite the small-ish size, our family of (5), including (2) teens, were quite comfortable. Finally, management was so helpful and responsive, from actually answering the phone when we called, to continuing to check on us via text throughout the stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Great walk out, ski in location
Great location for skiing. Quick walk to hop on a green run and ski down to the main lifts. Property manager was super responsive when we needed a second key. Condo was well stocked with cooking supplies and appreciated the in-unit washer and dryer. Would absolutely stay again. Functional for our family of 4, but think this condo would be challenging for a bigger group. The second bedroom is very snug with barely enough room to walk around the bed. There is also only dinnerware place settings for 4 people.

Great ski-in/walk-out location
Location on the slope was perfect. The walk-out to the slope wasn’t bad, and the ski-in worked perfect. The view of the mountain from the room was beautiful. The room was as described in the listing; exception of it saying it sleeps 8- in my opinion, you’d be miserable getting 8 people in there to live & sleep. That would be 2 in each bed (all queens) and one on each pull-out couch. Well stocked with basic necessities, including bathroom supplies, soaps, towels, kitchen supplies & equipment. Wish there were TVs in the bedrooms, but the large smart TV in the den was great. Our first experience with VRBO and Itrip Vacations and would definitely do it again!

nice long weekend
Everything was pretty good. Very close to the catwalk, nice place, I really liked the fire too. There were lots of towels and the place was clean. My friend said he had trouble with the dryer, he could not get it drying. Other than that, I was unhappy we couldn't get another parking pass for my friend and was basically just told "no" when we asked. It says it sleeps 6 people, which couldn't even fit in one car. Lastly, the remotes had dead batteries.

The place was clean, the Property Management was easy to work with. The location on the mountain was good if you don't want the Hussle of the base, but the ease on the mountain side with a great ski in and walk out location. We would stay here again.
