A week to remember!

We had a wonderful time in Nord. The house was spacious and comfortable. The grounds were well-kept and lovely. We were 13 family members ranging in age from 8 to 90. We spent the days on trips and returned in the afternoon for the welcoming pool, happy hour on the terrace, and always a great dinner outside, flowing with rosé and good cheer. We also had two dinners catered by Olivia, a professional and creative cook, referred to us by Rachel. Really, we just felt so comfortable in the house, it was hard to leave.Thank you Rachel for allowing us this wonderful experience.

Enchanting bastide

One of the best VRBO's we've stayed in! For starters, this is the perfect location in Provence. You feel as if you're far away in the country but instead you're able to take a short drive and suddenly you're in Aix, a thriving, dynamic city. The owners were so gracious - making sure that their home was comfortable (and it was!), and they provided literature with many ideas for daily excursions. We visited Cassis and the Mediterranean, and we drove to a stunning vineyard where you can walk a couple miles along the property passing dozens of art installations. These were perfect ideas - all tips from the owners. We stayed 10 days, and we could easily have stayed longer! The outdoor setting is magical. The light, the lavender, the vistas - all unique to Provence. Just beside the kitchen is a long outdoor table where we ate most our meals. Around the corner is another seating area, perfect for the afternoon glass of rose. We visited with our family (kids ages 11,8,6) where we all enjoyed swimming in the pool. The kids also jumped on the trampoline at the edge of the property and played boule. Endless entertainment! Inside, the kitchen is newly remodeled. And the entire interior is so both comfortable and totally chic. I loved everything about how it was decorated, and I especially loved the huge door that opens to the backyard. This is a home that could easily be in a magazine or Houzz. There is also another dining area - where we sometimes ate breakfast. If you're searching for a house in the South of France, this one is the most special!

Beautiful inside and out

What a beautiful, authentic French home for a family holiday. We had been looking for somewhere special in the south of France to meet with family traveling from England and Australia (we live in San Francisco). With so many different needs of family members, it was hard to find somewhere that would make everyone happy...but this is the house. The owners have done a beautiful job restoring this traditional bastide. The gardens and large expanse of soft green lawn were perfect for the children to play. The pool was in use everyday by the children, and also perfect for lap swimming. The location is fantastic. My father and I walked to the boulangerie each morning for fresh croissants before either heading into the pretty town of Aix, or doing one of the day trips that Rachel (the owner) had suggested. We would highly recommend this beautiful home. A truly magical French holiday that everyone of all ages loved. We will be back! Thank you Rachel for all your help.

My French husband and our 4 children moved here nearly eight years ago after having spent 4 years in Oxford and we have simply fallen in love with the place! It is an ideal spot as the children can be completely independent with our proximity to the centre of aix , yet it is an absolute haven here, 3 acres of garden overlooking ths St Victoire in the Provençal sunshine...bliss!

Why they chose this property

We immediately fell I love with its charm . It has all the advantages of a new build (it was built 12 years ago)but with all the charm of a typical bastide , the high proportioned ceilings the beautiful old tiled floors. So much effort went into choosing authentic materials particularly the beautiful iron staircase and the beautiful old doors.

What makes this property unique

It's unique tranquil setting in 3 acres of land is quite unique so close to Aix so we are extremely lucky! A dream come true! We hope that you will come here and make it your home for your stay.Swimming and tennis lessons can be arranged. A Chef can be arranged for your meals extra housekeeping available .
