Disappointing Laneway Home
We arrived 4 hours after check in time of 4:00 and opened the door to a dirty condo with no bedding, or towels. Instead of a relaxing evening after 13 hours on the road I was wiping down bathrooms, sweeping garbage into the bin and washing kitchen counters.. I made multiple attempts to contact the owner but didn’t receive a response for 20-30 minutes. Eventually two people showed up with all the bedding and mumbled something about miscommunication. Even after they ‘finished’ tidying and made the beds we still found hair on the floor, the bathroom carpets were filthy, the bedroom and living room area rugs weren’t vacuumed and the appliances weren’t wiped down. During our 4 night stay we.never felt that the place was actually clean. No compensation was offered. If there had been some explanation and then an offer to compensate us I wouldn’t have been nearly as dissatisfied as I ultimately am.
There are 2 beds and a pull out. One bed was very comfortable, the second was very soft memory foam mattress with a memory foam topper which we removed and used on the pull out couch. The pull out is broken. The springs in the cushions poke through and the wooden frame is no longer covered by the cushions The memory foam mattress topper came in handy.
The kitchen is missing a few items, teaspoons, mixing bowls, wine glasses.
Location is fantastic. The condo is small but adequate for a short stay and looks exactly as pictured. The half bath is a bonus. Wifi worked well.
