Perfect Mountain Getaway

We loved our stay at the Little Lodge! We were looking for a relaxing and cozy weekend filled with reading by the fire, wineries, and good food, and that’s exactly what we got! It was the perfect way to recharge, and the added bonus of being able to bring our pup along made the trip even better! Highly recommend staying here!

We rented the Little Lodge to get away from the DC traffic and noise (not to mention multiple Thanksgiving invites) and that was certainly the case. The drive up the mountain was no joke, but well worth it. The cabin is isolated enough for total privacy and quiet. All the amenities were there, so we really didn't have to bring much with us to enjoy this lovely, cozy little lodge. A !

The lodge was amazing, cute and cozy. We got to enjoy the fire pit outside. I wish that road up to the lodge was paved.

Great little cabin. Private but not remote.

Lovely cabin, very comfortable furnishings, pet friendly, and well cleaned. Owner adds lots of little touches to make guest comfortable. Games, outdoor equipment that is clean and new, books, lots of towels and blankets. Most pet froendly home ever.

Perfect quiet get away

I wanted a peaceful vacation spot on top of a mountain and this did not disappoint! All of the modern amenities and exceptionally clean. AWD is a must! The bed, pillows and linens were incredibly comfortable! Very well supplied with everything you will need. Extremely dog friendly, but you also can't tell any previous dog stayed there, so even if you have no pets it's amazing. Highly recommended!

Little Lodge Stay

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Little Lodge! It was our first time to the New Market/Luray area and we made the most of it! We enjoyed several trips to Luray walking the Greenway with the kids and visited the Caverns. We also made a breakfast trip to the Little Grill in Harrisonburg which is a must! The house was cozy and well-stocked with everything to make us feel right at home. The fire pit made for a relaxing evening after a long day out with the kids. Thanks Erin & family for a wonderful stay!

Perfect Mountain Getaway!!

We had a wonderful time at The Little Lodge! It was private, peaceful and stocked with everything we could possibly need! It feels like you are "away from it all", yet still only minutes from shops, restaurants, etc. in either direction (Luray or New Market). We even drove 25 minutes into Harrisonburg and had an upscale dinner. We highly recommend staying at The Little Lodge! We will be back!

Beautiful and Cozy Property Close to Luray

My daughter and I had a great time staying at this impeccable and cozy house. It was well-stocked, including all dishware, coffee maker, linens/bedding and in a really nice location near the top of a ridge. If you’ve got an AWD, you’ll have no problems accessing. The house is in a fairly rustic location and is quiet, but reasonably close to Luray Caverns and assorted hiking trails. We enjoyed our time here and would come back!

Fun Mountain Cabin

My husband and I, and dog, were in town for JMU parents weekend. This cabin was about 25 min to campus and we were happy to have a place our son could hang with us to spend time with him. This is a quaint cabin high up a mountain, so no joke you need awd or 4 wheel drive. If you are afraid of heights, this probably is not for you. All amenities you could possibly need are there and super dog friendly! (Sheets, blankets, towels, shampoo, conditioner, dog bowls, poop bags- to name a few)The view from this cabin is spectacular! It is a quiet area and the nature is very peaceful. Gas fireplace warms it up Fast. Outside screened in deck was adorable. Went to Miller’s Restaurant, The Italian Job, and Dans Steak House, all were good. Also hit a few wineries and a JMU football game. Fun time!

The Little Lodge is a PERFECT Getaway!

Our five night stay at The Little Lodge was fantastic! The amenities included a fully stocked kitchen with all the dishes, utensils, and cookware you might need and the bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. The woodsy setting was perfect for a country getaway and we spent every evening around the fire pit just enjoying nature. The screened-in back porch was extensively used as we played numerous board games during our stay. If you are looking for a comfortable, quiet getaway, we heartily recommend The Little Lodge!

A lovely retreat

We had a great week at the Little Lodge and in the area. It’s an amazing place to come home to after an active day. Usually if it has “dog friendly” in the title, I am like take my money! And you get what you get. But this was extraordinarily awesome, beautiful, peaceful in other words, we were not roughing it. We did fine getting up the mountain with AWD vehicle (in the summer), but probably would be more challenging in winter and 4WD would be better. Erin (our local contact) was great and very responsive.

A most comfortable stay around Shenandoah

We had a really great experience with this rental. We stay pretty active, hiking and exploring but enjoy coming back to a comfortable place to rest. We were able to cook a few breakfasts and even a dinner when the weather was iffy. Bed was comfy, shower was warm, air conditioning throughout. It was like a little home away from home. A great place to relax and recharge. The pics don’t do it justice IMO.

Beautiful Place

This was a gorgeous environment and a well enjoyed Anniversary Trip. We couldn't have been happier with our choice in this location. We enjoyed hiking up Massanutten to get a glorious view of the town below. We weren't far from Washington DC and drove over for a day to see the monuments.

Another Great Stay !

Once again I had a wonderful visit to the " LITTLE LODGE ". Great weather and I always feel at home here. My favorite is the quiet pleasure sitting in the screened in back porch. The addition to the captains chairs on the front deck is also a bonus. Great views! Thanks again for sharing your little oasis.

Great Getaway!

This cabin is super cute and Dog Friendly! Yes, you will need AWD! But once you get up the hill, the cabin sits back in a quiet area of mountain with great views. Our pup loved the freedom roaming around. The place has everything you need plus toiletries! It was clean and there was a coffee bar and all dog amenities. Screened in porch area was perfect for morning coffee and outside patio had a great sunset view. It's about 30 mins to Shenandoah Park either entrance but the drive is beautiful and we hiked all 3 days. Mexican restaurant in New Market was close by and very good. Dan's Steakhouse is right up the road as well. No issues with Wi-Fi service there although it is also the perfect place to disconnect and relax. Erin, the host, answered all my questions beforehand but there is also a basket of books and info when you get there. The day hike guide was very helpful!

The Little Lodge

My husband, his cousin & wife, and our fur babies truly enjoyed our stay. From the front porch enjoying nature, the screened in porch with a friendly/competitive card game, meals on the screened in porch or dining room table, spacious living room, and bedrooms with separate baths. The Host also provided some extras that made our visit fabulous. We did the majority of our shopping locally & found everything we needed. While enjoying the firepit, we also purchased a small charcoal grill to cook on - don’t know if it’s because we were hungry or the mountain air, but awesome burger & hot dogs. However, we did enjoy breakfast & a dinner at Southern Kitchen - really good food & the service was fantastic. While our exploring was limited, we did visit 2 of the caverns (highly recommend Luray Caverns) and scenic drives around town. Also drove to Gettysburg to see battlefield & other historical sites. Our fur babies enjoyed their stay as well. The Doggie Door with fence in area was perfect & convenient. I believe they enjoyed the porches & outdoors as much as we did. And the little extras provided by the Host are fabulous. Was so busy enjoying everything, I failed to sign the Guest Book but definitely give it 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend this property.
