We loved ‘birds on the bay’. It was clean, beds were comfy & it had everything we needed for a week away.Loved the quiet, secluded location. Still close enough to walk to the beach or skate park.Brilliant dog friendly accommodation - our mini dachshund made herself right at home & appreciated sampling one of the dog treats supplied! We would definitely stay here again.
Lovely bright, clean property with everything and more provided. Close to shops, pub and national park.
Family stayed for a week and were very comfortable.
Prompt responses from property manager. Easy check in/ out.
Birds on the Bay is a stylishly renovated and comfortable home. It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, backing bushland, in a peaceful, quiet part of Coffin Bay, where Emus stroll up the and down the street. There were pros and cons to our stay - pros - super pet friendly (complimentary doggy treats left for your pup), comfortable & basically clean, with everything you need in the home. New bathroom and the home was styled beautifully. Comfortable beds. Quiet location where kids can safely play on the street. Fully enclosed backyard for your dog/pet.Cons - we had a problem with the aircon in the living area not working throughout our stay - water poured out of the unit indoors - which was difficult as we stayed during a very hot period. Although I notified the owner, and the cleaner came to look, but couldn't repair as it was not their area of expertise, nothing further was done about it. Two of the bedrooms only had sheer curtains (which if you have children may be an issue). There are no screens to the front or back doors. The kitchen draws were broken and the oven and cooktop were filthy. As mentioned by someone else, the verandah hasn't been fully boarded off in the back yard - our dog got under the house and was difficult to get him out again - not the safest. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the property and would recommend this property as a place to stay, however addressing a few maintenance issues could have greatly improved our experience.
The inside of the house is lovely but the backyard is just gravel with weeds. It really isn’t nice for spending time outside.
We were very surprised there was no WiFi! We came from Sydney and three of us had no mobile coverage so we had no way to stay in contact.
I think nowadays it’s an expected amenity. There was also no hairdryer.
The beds we’re comfortable and we enjoyed the fireplace.
My family and I arrived at this property for a 4 night stay, and within 5 minutes I would have been happy to leave if it hadn’t been in Peake Season and no other accommodation was available.
The kitchen was dirty, inside the cabinets was even dirtier. We had to wash cutlery and crockery just to use them. The sofa was extremely stained and dirty. The dining chairs were covered in grime and unable to be sat on. The back garden is covered in stone and 50% is weeds, no grass, shrubs etc. The veranda hasn’t been maintained in years, one of my dogs kept trying to crawl underneath because it hasn’t been boarded off. Half of the windows don’t lock and we had to use a broom on the front window to stop it being opened during the night as a safety measure. I have photos but not sure if I can upload them to this review! Lastly, a random guy walked into the back yard , no explanation, and collected bottles from a previous guest left behind.
Cosy house 🏡 in a quiet street but a little further away from the water than expected. Back yard needs a little bit of work for a family to completely enjoy their stay.
House was great, everything we needed, great location, happy to stay again

Nicely renovated property
Not exactly pet friendly as there is no side and front fencing.
Could do with hooks or small shelving unit to hang stuff and put cloths in 2nd double bedroom. Same with kids room.
Hole in ground out front with slate material thrown in the hole needs to be fixed. Bit dangerous.
Comfortable enough.
The house is modern, clean and with lovely furnishings and comforts, it was nice and cool on the hot days we had, linen, beds, towels were all lovely. Everything felt very new. I've let owner know to update listing to advise there is no fencing from front yard to the street, so i had to keep my pup on lead when we went out the back, the landscaping is yet to be done also, so not much in the way of ambience when sitting outside. Once this is all done it will be a perfect place and the location so close to Coffin Bay national park is ace, emu's walk around, the dog beach and other beaches so close, it's such a lovely town. Thanks Nicole.
