About this property

Modern, exquisitely decorated, ocean view home in one of Victoria's nicest areas

This designer home is situated on .3 acres, overlooking Haro Straight and San Juan Island. It sits within a large, well developed yard and vegetable and flower gardens. The home has two levels. Two bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and the main living area are on main no step level, while a large bedroom and 4 piece bath is located in the walkout downstairs, along with a small kitchenette, t.v. room, and a queen sized sleeping alcove.

Our home is decorated with furnishings and art from around the world. The kitchen is a gourmet's delight with 6 burner gas range, a small electric oven, built in coffee maker, dishwasher and loads of counter-space. A large washer and dryer are located in a spacious laundry room. You will find two smart t.v's in the home.

Biking routes abound from here, as do walking paths in the nearby forested park, or enjoy kayaking from a beach 5 minutes away. Walk to numerous beaches, including one of Victoria's nicest sandy beaches at Cadboro Bay.

It's 20 minutes to downtown Victoria by car/taxi where you will find plenty of interesting tourist ideas. As the Provincial capital, Victoria (incorporated in 1862) is full of history, as well as restaurants and one of Canada's best Jazz clubs, ocean adventures. and much more. Vancouver Island on which we are located is the largest Island in the North American Pacific. Exploring the Island is a treat. This region has much to offer. Talk to us about use of our bicycles and kayaks.

This is our primary residence, which we offer for rent as our schedule permits. It is bookable for a minimum of 31 days.

Pacific Paradise

We felt fortunate that Brian and Kelly opened their home to us. It is very: modern, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. It was perfect for my wife & me, our two adult children and their partners, and two young grandchildren to gather for my parents’ celebration of life weekend.

Amazing view home

Situated in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, this architecturally designed home with beautiful gardens made for a delightful stay. The views of Puget Sound and Mt Baker were picture perfect, and the home provided great privacy when our family visited. Very thoughtful hosts were easily accessible by text. Would definitely visit again.

About the host

My wife and I are both retired, she an international teacher and me a diplomat. We were lucky to have postings in Japan, the US, the UK and India. Our house decorations and furnishings reflect these adventures. We bought the property in 2001 and upon returning to Victoria in 2018 built this house. We are delighted to wake to ocean views the occasional whale siting and plenty of ocean going ships and sailboats. The neighbourhood is safe, friendly and a delight to explore and enjoy the chill feel of the place.

Why they chose this property

Lovely new home, great ocean views, great bicycling and walking area, plenty of beaches to enjoy (Rather cold swimming though). Quiet area but near to UVIC, Victoria's downtown with all its restaurants and attractions. Great place to unwind, easy to work from here with a fast wifi. Located on Vancouver Island, often ranked as an international destination. See for example https://vancouverislandview.com/vancouver-island-information/

What makes this property unique

Ocean view from bathtub, bedrooms and living area. Large deck with same views. Located in one of Victoria’s most sought areas full of walking trails and beach access. Garden is well developed and provides a quiet oasis for enjoying the smell of the sea and stars at night.
