Upon arrival we found old food stuck to the dishes. A frying pan was in the oven with scrambled eggs dried up in it. The microwave door was cracked. When we ran the dishwasher after dinner, it leaked all over the floor. While cleaning that up, I noticed crumbs all over/under cabinets on the kitchen floor. The carpets had not bee vacuumed. The next day after I called the realty company, someone came to check the dishwasher while we were on the beach, left it running and we returned to the entire kitchen floor flooded with a couple of inches of water which then had to be cleaned up by us again! One toilet ran continuously, a bathroom sink did not drain, some plastic chairs on the decks were broken, MANY of the blinds were bent up. The air vents in the master bedroom were covered in black mildew. A nice competent repairman showed up on Tuesday and ordered a part for the dishwasher and a new microwave. We did get a new microwave on Thursday but the part did not come in during our week. I have NEVER complained on a review but I am a single person who works full-time and only wanted to enjoy a nice fall week with my family at the beach (used money from my savings) and this house was disastrous. I will NOT rent again from any property managed by Village Realty. Beware!

Broken fridge and poor response time
Stayed over Thanksgiving and arrived to a fridge that never cooled. Over four days of efforts to try to get it fixed it never was. Fortunately there was another fridge in the basement, but it did require making thanksgiving dinner going 3 flights of stairs for every trip to the fridge. Someone finally came Saturday but couldn’t actually get it fixed. The house otherwise was fine, though showing its age, but the major issue really put a damper on the visit.
Our stay in Nags Head was awesome. The house was adequate in size and all necessary accessories were well stored. Everything was in a short distance to get to, great restaurants, shops, parasailing, fishing, grocery store, etc.
Thank you again!
Another reviewer stated that "Spindle on deck is broken" this was addressed as we did not see this on our stay. The location is great as it is very close to 2 beach access points. You cross the street and it is 3 houses down to get to the beach access (very short walk maybe 2 minutes if that). Overall, the stay was great. I would recommend sharpening the knives as they were getting dull; however, we ate out for lunch and dinner, so we didn't need to use the knives as it was just an observation. All of the rooms were large enough to hold multiple suitcases and a pack-n-play for a 1 year old. During the summer months there is someone that I think is employed by the town as we saw him take out the trash/recycling bins to the road and putting them back the next day. Would recommend staying here and I'm surprised there are not more reviews for this house.
This house was perfect for our family vacation! It can be difficult to find a place that works for everyone and this house and location kept us all happy. It’s just across the road from the beach access for running out to catch the sunrise at the last minute. The rec room, pool, hot tub, and TVs in every room kept my teens occupied. Some stores, restaurants, and ice cream places are within walking distance and lots more just a short drive away. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cookware, small appliances, and whatever you might need for food prep. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and bath towels provided. We spent a lot of time just relaxing at the house and there was plenty of space to spread out. The property manager answered all of my questions when I called them directly and communicated with us as needed before and during our stay. I highly recommend this property!
