The property was compact, quiet and clean with modern decor. The listing says that it is 1 bedroom and sleeps 4. We were 2 guests and it was a snug stay but I suspect that four guests could feel really cramped in this property. Not a complaint, just my opinion on what was advertised. Close to amenities and a lovely farm setting.
Super clean, tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed. Access to Gallopping Goose Trail, close to the water, close to several good paces to eat. Our first VRBO experience and it was great
An absolute 10/10 experience, a beautiful little farm surrounding a comfortable and cozy place to stay! Across the road there are valuable amenities to buy fresh produce and treats, with the Stickleback bar and grill ~500m away. Far enough out of Sooke to avoid traffic but close enough that its hardly anything to get there, would recommend to anyone for a home away from home or a staging area for the great nature surrounding them!
We wanted to come up to Sooke for a quick getaway and a little biking on the Galloping Goose and we couldn't have picked a better spot. Comfortable bed, hot shower, cold AC. what else do you need. It was convenient to everything but also out of the bustle of downtown.
Comfortable and clean. Beautiful property and grounds. Convenient location to sites in the area. Only downside was entry and exit onto a busy road.

This property was advertised and a bed and breakfast. It is not. No breakfast was provided.
Two large dogs on property with no heads-up. The dog pen area is what the kitchen window looked directly out on to. Same level as the dog pen ie: 10 feet away from our faces to theirs
These dogs barked up until 9:15pm the first night and again at 7:30am until I texted the host 20 minutes later. The host’s front door is directly adjacent to our front door so he would have known that the dogs were barking. He did bring the dogs inside when I texted to complain but they were barking AGAIN the following morning at 7:30am. This was a weekend stay. Both Saturday and Sunday morning were disturbed by the dogs barking.
Also, the fold out couch was not level and extremely small. I could not lay flat and I am only 5’5”. It was terribly uncomfortable. The suite was advertised as having a fold out couch. This was not an acceptable sleeping option.
My husband and I couldn't have picked a better spot. From the wonderful water fountain outside the bedroom window, to the wonderful welcome every time from the friendly young cat (Mint)? and the Galloping Goose Trail in behind, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to Derek and Melissa for accommodating our needs.
Cozy place to stay while exploring the beautiful nature in the steam. The farm is amazing kids loved seeing the animals. The waterfall outside was relaxing.
This is the highest quality one bedroom studio apartment I have rented! From the comfortable bed through the modern bathroom to the well appointed kitchen and living space, the place is first class. Outside has a sitting area and garden to enjoy. Easy to recommend to anyone.
My family had a great weekend on this property. The yard was beautiful with many trees plants and animals. Bedroom and bathroom were decent. The living room kitchenette area was quite small. Preparing a meal was manageable. Great place for the price. Thank you to our host.
I know this won't get published. First and last VRBO.
Paid for two nights. Stayed one night and left at dawn. Slept on top of the covers with my clothes on I was so frightened. Dobermans fighting outside my window in the morning. Trapped by huge gates to the property so they decide when you can leave! No host - just his mother.
Cars up on blocks. Expected to hear banjos playing.

Why they chose this property
We offer a unique experience of both being rural, yet quick access to all the amenities of city life. Our property borders the Galloping Goose Regional linear trail, which is well know for mountain biking, walking and horseback riding. This is a working hobby farm, and great opportunity to see some small farm animals and consume farm fresh produce and eggs. If you are here at the right time in spring, you may be lucky enough to enjoy some of the baby farm animals.
