Lake Leelanau

First time to stay on Lake Leelanau. Water was clean and clear. Vegetative bottom makes it a little darker than say Elk or Torch. Docks worked great for our boats. Plenty of room for 4 families. Utensils and pots and pans between houses were enough but had to run back and forth to find what was needed. Minor suggestion, it would have been nice in description to know which house has a Keurig and which has a coffee pot. Nut House was quaint. Small bedrooms. Could use more bath and kitchen towels since there is no washing machine. Bathroom tub faucets may need updated. Air conditioning was wonderful as it was a hot week. Main house was very nice. Lots of room. Be sure to wear water shoes as there were sharp sticks and logs in the shallows. Sand gets stirred up easily so they are hard to see. Kids had minor cuts until we buoy marked the spots. We had to buy firewood for the firepits, easy to find nearby in Leelanau. Owners responsive to our questions. Will be back for sure!

Lake vacation

This has been a perfect place for a multigenerational holiday. The separate cottage was great for grandparents, and the bunk room off the main house offered a great place for younger kids/teens. The house had plenty of kitchen equipment, stocked with basics such as spices, aluminum foil, shampoos, garbage bags, toilet paper. Always appreciate not buying such stuff on vacation. The house has both indoor and outdoor door common areas to hang out, all of which have amazing views of the lake. Dock access was great when we rented a boat and kayaks. There are plenty of lawn chairs too. The location cannot be beat for lake access. Also it’s only a short drive to vineyards, and couple of smaller towns that have great ambience and fun restaurants/shops. Leland can be accessed by boat as well. We had a great time.

We stayed here for the third year in a row. Location is great, separate houses are nice for different sleep habits, and the property owners communicate well. Looking forward to year four already.

Annual Friends Trip

The house has a beautiful view and everything we needed. It’s clean and well appointed. Plenty of room for 5 couples and extra space for kids with lots of activities. Close to wineries and downtown lake Leelanau. Short drive to Fishtown and Northport. You won’t find a better value or view on Leelanau Peninsula! The house is also very private with lots of space between neighboring properties. We would absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful family vacation spot

We have been vacationing summers in the Leelanau Peninsula for 19 years. Our family has grown and we needed a large place this summer. We have 13 people in a broad age group: 9 to 73 yrs old, with the majority being between 18 and 22. There was so much for everyone to do. The location is close to everything we love to do in Glen Arbor, Leland, and Sutton's Bay. The young adults loved the bunk house and game room. The cottages are clean and comfortable without being fussy and the kitchens are well appointed, although we mainly used the kitchen in the big house. We brought along our own kayaks and the beach and doc are excellent. We have already booked again for next summer!

Perfect location

We had a great time exploring Leelanau County. We went to Torch Lake, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Fishtown, Traverse City, Glen Haven Beach, Suttons Bay, Northport, Grand Traverse Lighthouse, and Good Harbor Beach. The two houses were perfect for our families and centrally located to all the little towns. Would definitely stay here again.

Great spot to stay

These cottages held our family perfectly. The bunk house was great for the kids and having their own bathroom made less congestion. The main house fit the adults and my brother and family stayed in the nut house and gave them privacy! The houses are well stocked with dishes and pots and pans. They had lots of spices and foil etc My only complaint would be that there was no place for us all to sit to eat together. And bigger table in the deck might help that issue or even a second picnic table.

Beautiful property

The cottages and property were just as described and exceeded our expectations. Large enough to accommodate our guests and visitors, even when it rained. Beautiful views and close enough to all the sites and shopping in the peninsula. Very comfortable and homey feeling. The owner was very easy to contact, quick to respond and friendly.

Fun for all!

We had a multi-generational group of 8, 5 kids (10 to 15) and 3 adults. This house was PERFECT! The owners pride clearly shines through! The house is well stocked, very clean and has lots of space. The bunk room was awesome and just the right fit for our 4 teenage boys. The ‘nut house’ was quaint and offered a little peace & quiet for the adults. Super convenient location just a bit away from the heart of Leelaunau by boat or car. Owners were informative, kind and responsive. We will definitely be back!

Host profile image
Greg and I both had a love for the Traverse City/Lake Leelanau area when we were very young. Greg is originally from a small town in southern Michigan and often spent summer vacations "up north" near Interlocken. I lived my whole life in the UP of Michigan until last year at which time I moved to the Detroit area. When we toured the property, we instantly fell in love with the cottages and the location...the views are spectacular and bring peace to your soul and fresh air to your lungs. To us it represents much of what we missed about our childhood and hometowns...the beauty and peace of natural surrounding, an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities, and room for the whole family to enjoy special time together creating memories. We are very excited to be able to share our UP North "get away" with you.
