Great Cottage Great Location

We had a wonderful stay at the Sunset Cottage. Check in process was super easy. The cottage was clean and cutely furnished. It was also dog friendly. Our favorite part was the fireplace. We had a fire every night we were there. Great view of stars at night.

Fallen tree blocked access

Other than that our time was lovely, the cabin was as advertised and we loved the "old school" record player and vinyl records.

Quaint Little Cabin

This is a very quaint and charming little cabin. Perfect for a family of four or like us two couples. There aren’t many cooking pots and pans to use if you plan on staying a while. We loved the location it was quiet and secluded. The only thing I can say is the road up is steep. I have a Ford Explorer two wheel drive and my tires were spinning going up the first try. It is only partially paved and then the gravel gets on the pavement. The cabin cannot be seen from the road, You have to go all the way around to the end.

Wonderful, relaxing

I really enjoyed this property. Some of the things I really liked about were the large porch, the comfortable bed, the privacy (it is literally at the end of the road) and the small fenced area so that you can spend time outside with your dog and not have to have it on a leash (please don't leave your pet unattended in the woods). Also, while I only stayed here with my husband, I think that this cabin has a really nice floor plan that could be split between two couples. The couple using the second bedroom (queen) and hall bathroom would have privacy from the couple in the master en suite (king), because it is down a little hallway that the other couple would not have to go down unless they needed to get to the laundry, which is at the end of that hallway, and unlike other small cabins, there is enough living room furniture for two couples to sit comfortably. I also thought that the kitchen was as well stocked as any rental cabin; I made two dinners here. Regarding the road, well before you get to the cabin, there is a short (50 foot) area that is a 12% grade but I'm not sure you would need 4 wheel drive, as some have suggested in prior reviews, though I wouldn't bring a low lying sports car up a gravel road in any case. It is quite bumpy, but if you go slow enough, that isn't a problem. And winter shouldn't make a difference because it's gravel so there's a lot more grip than a paved road. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay and found it very relaxing.

Beautiful

Beautiful little cabin nestled in the woods. The cabin is stocked well, it's a home away from home. The location is great! Short drive to Georgia and Tennessee. As well as many things to do in and around Murphy. I can't say enough good things about our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and plan on booking again in the future. Megan was very helpful and responsive. A great host.

Mountain retreat

We loved staying at the sunset cabin. It is just what you would expect a mountain cabin to be. We particularly enjoyed sunsets on the porch with a glass of wine. The road to the cabin is no joke. We had a AWD SUV so we had no problem. I don’t think my wife’s RWD sport sedan could make it up. Well worth it though. We will definitely be staying here again.

Great cabin up a mountain

Cabin is near perfect! Privet and peaceful view of the woods from the covered porch. Well supplied kitchen. Great communication and instructions from the property managers. The only down side would be for some nervous drivers. It is up a mountain via a one lane road with a steep grade and drop off one side. But getting to the cabin is more then worth it!
