The location of this property is amazing. We could lie on one of the beds and look out over the water as though we were perched in a bird's nest. A real treat.
The only problem with this property is that you will become immobilized from the view- you will want to do nothing else but stare out at the mountains and ocean. It was so beautiful! The home is lovely, with comfortable, attractive furnishings and a very well appointed kitchen. Two bathrooms and two bedrooms made for a luxurious stay for my friend and I. You drive for a while to get up the mountain, please know that it is well worth it! Would love to stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay with Alex and Blake. The house is equipped with all amenities and everything you need for a longer stay is there. Otherwise Alex helps, she is very concerned about her guests. We really enjoyed the short and long conversations with Alex.
The location is fantastic and is completely in nature. From here you can reach many attractions. However, sometimes you have to drive a lot.
My friend and I were looking for a quiet house in the woods for a few days and this place was just that. The view from the balcony (when it’s not foggy) was so nice and peaceful to enjoy after a long day. Everything inside was clean and tidy. Keep in mind that this house is located on a windy dirt road at the top of a hill. Wasn’t an issue for us and the dry conditions we had but just thought it should be mentioned. It definitely adds to the “remote, woodsy” feel of the place though
The property was excellent and exceeded all expectations re being exceptionally well equipped, amazing views and plenty of space. Beds were comfortable as were the sofas inside and out on the patio. The house had everything you needed plus more. The host was exceptionally responsive and answered all of our queries quickly. The decor was of a high standard with lots of interesting art which added a subtle ambience to the whole house. The complimentary toiletries particularly the face mask were a great bonus. My only reservation with the property was the location. It is a good 15 minutes from the main road up a fairly windy steep road and I didn’t realise this until I arrived, however that said it was an amazing property and we loved our stay.

Incredible view and very peaceful for a rest. The property has everything you need.
The photos do not really portray this spacious house with large bedrooms, living space and bathrooms. Perfect for large family or friends wanting to gather together. The deck is across the whole front of the house and the view is spectacular! The house was nicely decorated and the furnishings comfortable. The hosts were responsive and put in the effort to have a clean house, set up wood for the fire and farm fresh eggs. If you like isolated mountainous settings then this is for you!
The pictures do not so this property justice. It is beautiful. Hosts Alex and Blake left us fresh eggs, fresh mint, face masks and bath bombs. I wish I had more then 2 nights there and I will be back. An absolutely amazing experience.

Over the Rainbow Rentals is led by husband and wife duo with over 40 years of hospitality and customer service expereince between them, Blake and Alex. We love traveling and exploring the world , meeting people and learning about new cultures. We lived on 3 continents before settling down in Little Qualicum River Village , Vancouver Island where we grow permaculture and wild gardens , raise chickens , go for hikes and search for Big Foot :). We are forgers of wild foods, like mushrooms , berries, wild greens and medicinal herbs. We love our home and community and it's tranquility and would like to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
There is only few properties on Vancouver Island that boast the most spectacualr view of the Island, Coastal Mountains and Georgia Strait , where you can see hundreds of kilometers of coastline . Only one is available for rent - ours. There is only few properties that on foggy days are above the clouds basking in the sunshine . Only one is rentable :) . And sometimes the fogg and clouds merge and house is soaked with mist and white light , cozy and quiet.
What makes this property unique
One of a kind view while forest bathing .
