Such a lovely studio in prime location. The owner came for a quick chat after I’ve checked in. Delicious fruit bread for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.
It was close to town but still felt really private. Loved the whole vibe of the place with the overgown cottage garden and beautiful brick arch as you enter. Everything inside was clean and well presented.
Nice quaint little bungalow in a quiet street. Had everything we needed for a 1 night stay and was close to the town centre. Lack of television didn't bother us in the slightest! - It was nice to have some quiet after a long day. We didnt meet the owners, but the little dog was super cute. Would stay again.
We enjoyed our 2 nights, bed very comfy, extra homely touches like variety of tea leaves, home-ground coffee, fresh fruit, raisin bread etc.
Very quiet area, a few train noises, but pretty birdsongs too!

Comfortable stay
This accommodation is as described, and the host is hospitable with some extra touches ( fruit bread and some milk/teas.The bed is comfortable and the shower is great. The towels are rough and dishcloths were smelly. As we were travelling by train, during a heatwave, we very much appreciated the friendly and very efficient taxi service.
All you need in a cosy apartment. Perfect for us who just needed somewhere in Castlemaine.

Why they chose this property
Located on the 150-year-old property Cliffleigh, Studio 3 is a self-contained unit ideal for couples, single travellers or small families. Equipped with a comfortable queen bed and with kitchenette and attached private ensuite, it is easy walking distance from the town centre, station and Goldfields steam train. This is an easy no fuss place to enjoy the Goldfields.
What makes this property unique
The space has been extensively renovated with sustainability in mind. It has features that reduce heat loss and external heat gain. The studio is air-conditioned and heated, though is less reliant on these facilities because of its environmental design – for the most part it remains cool in summer and warm in winter.
The garden has extensive plantings of food plants and trees designed to work with the buildings to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It's a wild jungle of trees and spaces designed to get lost in; you will need to search elsewhere for a neatly planted manicured settings.
