Serenity on top of the brow of the mountain !

We really enjoyed our stay at your Mountainhome, the views for magnificent and in fact some of the best views I’ve seen out of a lot of different mountain towns. I’ve gone to the cabin was very clean, very organized and had a good positive vibe to it. I highly recommend this home to future guests !

Beautiful!

Everything was perfect! The home was emaculate. Stan was there to meet us and was very helpful in showing us around and the best local restaurants. We will definitely stay here again.

The host met us at the house, which is beautifully decorated. There were complementary snacks and a bottle of wine. The view was amazing. Plenty of comfortable space and furnishings. We loved the area and local restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Comfy clean and a great view

The owners were great and easy to communicate with. House was very clean and well supplied. Close to local state parks and short drive to Chattanooga. Would defiantly stay here again

4th of July Getaway….

This was our second trip and won’t be our last. The home is beautifully appointed. The views from the back windows are gorgeous. We loved sitting there watching the weather roll through the valley below. Truly living above the clouds. The hosts are fantastic as well. We’ll be back…….

The View will not disappoint!

This home is beautifully decorated and comfortable, a perfect combination! Private and quiet environment. Very relaxing, the beds are comfortable, not a bad seat in the house. The view without question is unsurpassed. Pick a place to sit for a while, inside or out, and watch the clouds roll by!

Excellent again!

This was our second stay at this beautiful home. Everything about this place is way above average. We love all of the sculptures, books, and especially the artwork. Please don’t change any of it. The view is the crown jewel of this home. It is mesmerizing and hard to look away from. We thoroughly enjoyed sipping fine bourbon at the cliff. Stan is a great host. We’re already looking forward to our stay next year!

Relaxing stay

We stayed here for a week while we were in town for our wedding. It is a very big space, very quiet, and private. The home is clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a week-long stay. The views are phenomenal. The property manager/owners are nice, communicative, and knowledgeable about the area, and they made checking in and out very easy. We always go through VRBO for our vacations, and this was by far easiest process in recent memory. This was a very pleasant experience for us!

Stay was absolutely perfect! House was decorated beautifully and layout takes advantage of the spectacular view. Spent so much time just sipping coffee and watching the clouds move up and down the valley. Stan was an exceptional host and the gift basket of snacks and wine were a very nice touch. We cannot wait to come back and escape to the ridge. The stay was a WOW in every aspect. Thank you for allowing us to share your home!!!

Just Wow

All I can say is wow! The home was perfect; great location, great amenities, great host and great experience. Stan met us there upon arrival and gave us some cool info about the area restaurants and history. Had great hikes in Cloudland Canyon each day and loved coming back to the view and comfort of the house each afternoon. Highly recommend this house if you are looking for something in the Chattanooga area. Don't miss out on the Canyon Grill while in the area - best chicken piccata on the planet. We can't wait to book another stay.

The finest on the mountain

We have stayed in over a dozen properties on Lookout mountain and we can honestly say this is the best. The home is located in Johnson’s Crook and has an incredible view of Lookout mountain, Sand mountain, and The Preserve below. The property is well maintained and stocked with art, antiques, sculptures, and live indoor plants. The owners are fantastic. If you are new to this area, or have been visiting for years, do not sell yourself short. You have found the best rental on Lookout mountain. We shall return.

One of the most beautiful views in Northwest Georgia

Looking for a Couples weekend for R&R, big views, peacefulness, and time to gather your thoughts? Check this place out. Beautiful property, clean, warm, gorgeous decor, books, books, and books, and a well-equipped kitchen. The owners are meticulous around their care for the property and you as their guest. We were surprised with a nice bottle of wine, and a generous snack basket upon arrival. Also, at owners’ recommendation we checked out the Canyon Grill for a wonderful, reservations required, dinner with top drawer service and excellent food. Two words – Chicken Piccata. Thanks to our hosts for sharing their home. Thumbs up from us!

An Extraordinary Retreat

We booked a long weekend stay for a visit in late March, just as the dogwoods and redbuds were in bloom. The listing looked promising and the house exceeded expectations in every way. From the front entry, the house looks innocuous. However on walking through the door, you are greeted with a most extraordinary selection of antique furnishings, stunning art and, beyond that, a grand and most remarkable view: you are planted solidly at the edge of the mountain. Sunlight drifts over the valley below; all is serene. Out host had jazz music softly playing, a bottle of red wine (paired with exquisite wine glasses) and basket of snacks waiting. Indoors, seating is thoughtfully arranged so you can pour wine or coffee and perch yourself in a comfortable chair to rest your eyes on a most bucolic horizon fringed with mountains, rolling hills, farms, lakes, trees, distant roads… this is the stuff of picture books. I recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise. I had a most extraordinary morning watching cloud theater here. As the sun came up, clouds rolled into touching distance and alternately peeled back to reveal the valley below … encore please … If you tire of the view from inside, make your way down to the cliff face, where two comfy chairs are thoughtfully planted. Here, seated at The Edge, transform from observer to participant and become part of the view. Perfectly sized for 4, ideally located, and extraordinary every way, this house is an incredible treat.

Comfortable home, gorgeous view, accommodating owners

The Bluff House (as Stan the owner calls it) is very comfortable and of course, what could possibly beat that view?! My family decided to celebrate Thanksgiving there and because of this we probably did more cooking than most. The kitchen is well stocked for eating, and Stan even let us use his turn-of-the century china for our special dinner. There were some items missing from the kitchen one would expect to find in any home or BNB, so if you have specific needs, be sure to ask Stan before your trip. The house was immaculately clean, but had a dampness and a bit of a musty smell at first that went away after running the heat for a few hours. I have bad chemical and mold allergies so I mention this for those who might have the same issues. The second bedroom has a large cedar closet that caused me some allergies, but my Air Doctor that I brought with me helped. Stan was very accommodating towards my allergies and altered his cleaning products for me. We enjoyed having a fire each night in the living room and the house is so spacious we had plenty of room for different activities. A couple of things that are not made clear in the listing: 1) The second bedroom does not have its own bathroom. This wasn't a problem for us, but it was a surprise. 2) There is a large painting in the living room that has a nude woman in it. If I could change anything about the house, this would be it. I was traveling with my husband and son, and my son's new girlfriend. Even though we are all adults it made us all uncomfortable. Overall, we'd definitely stay there again. We enjoyed hiking Cloudland Canyon and I LOVED sitting on the boulder at the edge of the property with my coffee in the morning.

We loved our stay so much! The home and property are amazing! The hosts are wonderful! All our needs were met above and beyond! They checked to see if we needed anything and let us know they were available if we had any needs! We look forward to returning sometime!

Wonderful Weekend

We had a great time at this property. Were in town to play some golf at McLemore and the location was perfect. The views from this house cannot be missed. The property owners were so friendly and helpful and the house very comfortable. Rising Fawn also has some amazing restaurants. We would certainly stay here again if we are going to be in the area.

BREATHTAKING VIEWS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!!

The evening we arrived, Perry had Jazz playing, a bottle of wine and snacks waiting for our arrival. Even before unpacking we immediately went outside to take in the breathtaking view! The picture can't do it justice, it was so much better than expected. We spent every evening on the back porch having a drink and relaxing to the sounds of the night and every morning in the dining/sun room staring at the mountains drinking our coffee. The home was BEAUTIFULLY decorated, probably the best I have ever stayed in. The artwork was amazing, everywhere you looked there was something else to see. The bedrooms were large with amazing KING beds (both rooms) with luxury bed linens that made you feel like you were special. If you think Rising Fawn is too far from Chattanooga it isn't as far as it seems. The drive to town was so beautiful and relaxing you didn't even notice.
