Christmas in Langford

The house is a very nice layout and the bedrooms were right for our family of 5. I think this is a very new VRBO and we found many items in short supply that we are used to in other locations. There was no spare toilet paper or paper towel left at the property. There were 5 towels but we expected a few more. The weather had been unusually cold so we arrived to a very chilly home with limited heating capabilities. If the heat had been turned up a few hours before our arrival it would have been great. It took the first night there before all rooms an bedrooms were up to a comfortable temperature. The kitchen was well equipped with hardware but would appreciate a standard drip coffee maker. There were just salt and pepper on the shelf so it was a good thing we did an extensive shop prior to arrival. Again other VRBOs normally had some kitchen supply basics available. This location required a lengthy drive to get to downtown Victoria to take in tourist attractions. The road conditions made this a challenge for the first few days. The listing should likely not say close to downtown as that would be misleading to those that are expecting to go in and out of Victoria. The location was very quite and certainly a nice chance to be away from the bustle of the city.

Why they chose this property

It's spacious modern and brand new. This location will be unique as it's in a cul-de-sac street backed onto a permanent forested area whilst amenities are close by and more are planned. But don't worry, this will continue to have an Island feel!

What makes this property unique

Simply a unique location with a regional Island feel and so close to Victoria. In fact, you can walk or cycle to the Galloping Goose Trail to explore the many parts of Vancouver Island.
Want to explore the rest of the Island? No problem, you will be on the highway in minutes without getting stuck in traffic.
Imagine this: The house is nestled in a natural parkland, in and around the Metchosin forested acreages near ocean front, Olympic View Golf Course and a spectacular view of the Olympic Mountains.
Full complement of local native plants and trees, with butterflies, hummingbirds, songbirds, shore birds, bald eagles, ravens, and river otters swimming close to shore, and with some luck, the occasional Orca (killer whale) or Humpback whale passing by.
