Great stay

Lovely place right by the beach, had everything we needed and a fantastic hot tub. Was remote enough to not feel crowded but still close to local towns with attractions and good food. Would absolutely stay here again!

Cutest house in Waldport with short walk to great beach.

This house is adorable, very clean, and comfortable. The beach is a 2 minute walk. Great yard.

Lovely place for family gathering.

We loved our stay and were able to bring the dogs. The fenced yard area was great for playing with them. We also enjoyed cooking there one of the evenings and felt comfortable and relaxed in the space. The beds were very comfortable.

Perfect little place!

This was the perfect little place. Very easy check in and out procedure. The hot tub was great. We, unfortunately, had a family emergency and had to leave before we could stay the night, but we were in the house for a few hours and it was absolutely perfect.

The dirtiest place to stay

Was the dirtiest place I ever stayed in Cobwebs and spiders everywhere Ceiling fan was so dirty as soon as we turned it on, just went all over the place Broken dishwasher, high chlorine level in hot tub asked for cleaning up but never received any will never stay at one of your properties ever again

Great Getaway

Comfortable cottage steps from the beach. The best equipped kitchen I have seen. Nice hot tub. I definitely would stay again. Could use a few more luncheon plates cereal bowls.

Relaxing new years

We had a great start to the new year! We were able to walk straight to the beach, this was our second year. The house was cozy, but the end of the stay was a little tragic, we woke up to a broken pipe and no water to shower before we left.

Quiet Getaway

Perfect property for a quiet getaway with friends or a couple. Very cutely furnished, had everything we needed for a nice weekend. The hot tub was clean and hot, the water pressure and hot water in the house were great! The kitchen was well equipped for anything we wanted to make. The beach views were really nice to watch when we got too chilly and needed to warm up. The house is tucked a block back from the highway, traiffic is light, and a quick walk to the beach. 10/10 would stay again.

Great location, house is small and one bedroom is small

The house was not cleaned very well for what people are charged for cleaning. No curtains on 2nd bedroom door that has is a glass door. No propane in the BBQ, no firewood for the fireplace, no table to sit at or play games. Great location and great backyard for dog.

Great location!

We enjoyed our stay very much! The location is perfect for exploring the nearby Cape Perpetua National Park. My only surprise was that we had no cell service at all in the rental, which was a surprise. We both have Verizon as a carrier and neither of us had any service in the rental or some parts of town of Walport. Thankfully we were able to use wifi calling, but this came as a surprise. If that was mentioned in the description, I must have missed it. Probably important to know if you're planning on navigating somewhere - get the instructions while you still have wifi!

Shaky start

The beginning of vacation was shaky. Hot tub only half full and dirty. Contacted property management 2 times and they had someone out to clean and fill it next day. Tub has a leak so we had to add water each morning so it was ready by evening. Contact property management about no heat in master bath, they dropped a heater off same day for us to use. Nice view from deck, short walk to beach, nice to have a fenced back yard for our little dog. Perfect size for a couple and dog. Would stay here again.

Nice Location, A Little too much dog hair

Location was centrally located between Yachats and Newport, so we were able to take advantage of a couple activities between each, which was nice. The Wakonda Beach access is literally across the street, but be prepared for a steeper decent to the sand...my husband was recovering from knee surgery and we had to navigate this access point with care. Its not handicap accessible (FYI). House was, for the most part, visibly clean and tidy. After settling in we saw dog hair on the couches and there was a urine smell in the master bathroom. Not great. Hot tub was awesome! Loved the location in the backyard with view of the ocean and the partition from backyard neighbor. Front deck was nice as well. Nice location, great hot tub, lovely views, but cleanliness needs improvement.

Run Down and Not Clean

I wasn’t expecting perfection. Beach houses tend to be a bit… musty and worn. This place, however, was just shoddy and messy. There were stains on just about every piece of furniture. The walls were dirty. There was dog hair all over the floor. The dishes weren’t even useable without me having to wash them by hand first. The overall smell was not great to the point that I had to keep all the windows open the whole time. I don’t feel like I have high expectations but I do expect to have a comfortable and clean stay, especially considering all of the cleaning charges and fees. The location was nice. 1 minute walk to a nice quiet beach. Would not stay again

Great little house!

The house is decorated in beach theme and is very cute. The owner took time and money setting you up to feel like home away from home. Plenty of games and movies in-between soaks in the hot tub. However, Meredith Lodging dropped the ball with the check in time and never got back to us even though we had set up for a time. The lady on phone was quite rude. The housekeeper failed to finish the job...towels left in dryer..beds weren't finished..needed dusting..dirty dishes throughout and fridge sounds like its going out..(very loud at night especially). The list of housekeeper responsibilities that are expected by the paying guest (paying very good money i will add) is a complete joke. We always leave vacation rentals as clean and tidy as we can. However, the dishwasher nor the washing machine had no soap to start loads. We would even be willing to give them another try in the future because the owners of Smooth Sailing really took alot of effort to make it cozy.
