We loved everything about this cozy farmhouse. The bed was comfortable, it was so quiet and we enjoyed the outdoor deck that looked out over the orchard.
The hosts were so friendly, helpful, and generous with the fresh eggs and fruit picked from their many fruit and nut trees.
We didn’t want to leave. Thank you for the perfect getaway location and idyllic retreat!
Just loved our sojourn in Victoria at this beautiful family home and garden. Sheep strolling past while we had our morning coffee and the delivery of fresh figs was the bees knees! A perfect home away from home in lovely Victoria!
Wonderful inviting home surrounded by fruit and nut trees and sheep and chickens. The grounds around the home are very beautifully maintained. The home is bright and clean and very welcoming. It was so relaxing to sit at the tables both inside and outside and drink coffee, have dinner. The hosts were fabulous.
Easy to check in, generous, gracious hosts. House is comfortable, has all that is needed. The ambiance of the setting was lovely. Close to Elk Lake for great hiking.
The place is beautifully located, surrounded by fruit trees, chickens (and a diligent rooster) and grazing sheep.
The care takers, Vera and Peter, were extraordinarily kind and spoiled us with fresh eggs and on site produced honey. It was a relaxing spot, with easy access to Elk lake. We will certainly try to come back.
The farm was a wonderfully relaxing and lovely and the hosts were amazing. The host took time to show us the farm and answer all sorts of questions. Extremely personable and kind. From a morning coffee on the back deck to an evening cocktail on the front porch it was great. The location is easy proximity to Victoria but quiet and peaceful. There is access to the lake close by and the neighborhood was great for a peaceful evening walk. We would absolutely go back again.
We chose to stay in a more rural area to be close to family. It is half way between Sydney and Victoria. The farm is well cared for and the farm house is well fenced for our dog.
We had beautiful weather so enjoyed sitting under palm tree on patio and in morning on deck with coffee.
We enjoyed the sheep in the back and chickens in the front on other side of our fenced area.
Bed comfortable and nice to have the extra bathroom.
If you are looking for fancy, this three level split is cozy and adequate but not fancy.
Definitely need a car as not easy to access without it.
Thank you for the fresh farm eggs which were delicious and the fruit we enjoyed right off the tree in yard.
Thank you so much to Lori for the many places she recommended when we asked. She has great communication from the time we booked till we left property. Definitely will keep this property next time.
Thanks again.
The farmhouse is a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and comfortable. We were in the area for a wedding so had a number of friends and family in for visits, and everyone was delighted with the farm and told us how lucky we were to be staying in such a beautiful space. Lori and her family were so generous as hosts, from the dozen farm fresh eggs waiting for us in the fridge, to all the fruit we could eat from the orchard. Lori also took special care to set up the child gates on the stairs so the littles were safe. We will definitely return, and I think family and friends are also planning stays. Just a beautiful home, and lovely hosts.
We cannot be more happy with the property and the business's family. Lori and her parents were excellent and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant.
Undoubtedly, we will stay at their farm again if we return to Victoria.
Thank you, Lori and parents!
The house was perfect, very well equipped and in incredible surroundings. We loved hearing and seeing the farm animals.
The exchange we had with Lori on arrival was very interesting. It was a nice change from impersonal key boxes or codes.
What an amazing place! So much love and hard work put in over decades to build this home with trees cleared from the land years ago. We truly enjoyed our stay at this self sufficient farm house with a wide variety of fruit trees, nut trees, honeybees, sheep, chickens and so much more. Really enjoyed talking with Peter about the many aspects and hard work involved in maintaining this beautiful property.
Thank you so much for your hospitality Lori and family! It will be cherished.
What an awesome piece of paradise! Very quiet location. A bit tricky to get to and the driveway to the farmhouse is not at the main house. But Peter and his wife are very gracious and will show you the gate. They are very proud of their working farm and they do your best to make you very welcome and at home! The rooster might even wake you up!! The home is tidy and has the basics. Remember only one shower and you need to go through a bedroom to get to it. Part of the basement is unfinished. The deck is covered which is nice for the rain. Big bonus was having an outdoor patio to enjoy your morning coffee in the shade!! A real hidden gem!!
It was a wonderful stay in a wonderful place. Lori and her family are such lovely people.
We enjoyed our stay, it was so relaxing and the perfect base to start a lot of activities on Vancouver Island.

This property is on a sheep farm, and it was nice to walk amongst the sheep. The property is very lush, with a nice outdoor deck to enjoy the trees. The host was easy to get ahold of. We stayed here because of the proximity to Cordova Bay to enjoy a family wedding.
We could not have been happier with our decision to stay here. This little farmhouse was so much more than we expected. The setting is idyllic (surrounded by orchards and just a few minutes from the lake), and the house itself was well appointed and immaculate. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
Lori was always swift in responding to my messages and we had many lovely chats with Peter (Lori's dad) who kindly gave us a tour of the orchards he planted 30 years ago.
I hope we will be back soon!
My sister-in-law and I stayed on this lovely farm. The entire experience was rejuvenating. The location is wonderfully close to everything but it is so quiet and peaceful and a welcome escape after being out exploring all day. The Farm House is well stocked and the host is very helpful and responsive. Thank you for sharing your farm.
We loved our stay. Great hosts. Great location. Cozy country farmhouse is perfect name. Although it’s a very nice farmhouse. We loved watching the sheep from the deck & walking to the lake. There was plenty of room for our family of 5. (3 teenagers)
Very private & quiet. Can’t wait to return.
