Quaint little cabin

Overall we had a nice stay at this little cabin on the river during February. There were pros/cons to consider: Pros: - hottub and fireplace made for a cozy stay in winter - dog friendly and nice yard for our GSD - beautiful location right on the river! Views were very pretty Cons - hottub thermometer seemed off, way too hot for 100 degrees! Had to turn way down - over an hour from the national park and 20 min from center of Luray - have to bring your own linens - pet fee was not advertised on main page, while not a huge deal, I did not find out about the fee until after I had booked the property

Great escape from city life

This was a great gem in a great location away from city life. Great place to relax, get out on the river or relax next to a fire at night! Highly recommend.

Very Peaceful

Had a great time in this nice small cabin with my husband and 2 dogs. One of our dogs enjoyed swimming in the river while the other enjoyed chilling on the screened porch or in the backyard. The hot tub was extremely relaxing with nice views while the sun was up and relaxing country sounds once the sun went down. Would highly recommend staying here for a relaxing getaway!

Restful and relaxing weekend

We enjoyed our stay at the Stepping Stone cabin as it was relaxing and restful. It was amazing to be right on the river. The view was beautiful! My husband was able to fish while I was able to read or enjoy the hot tub.

Spring break getaway

We had a fantastic stay at the Stepping Stone cabin. We stayed for several days over spring break with our teenage sons. We spent the days hiking in Shenandoah National Park and came home to relaxing evenings at the cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, and the fireplace for the one day it snowed!! Perfect place for a family getaway.

Good getaway from the city

We stayed three nights in the property and we had an amazing time there. We loved the view with snow and quietness of the area. Hot tub in a freezing weather was awesome. The cabin is a bit old and not spotless clean but it was cozy, warm and functional. The view with snow, geese on the river, a hot tub, roads and trees covered with snow was totally breathtaking! We spent such a great time with our dog. Probably because of the snow, there were only us around the cabin so that was a bonus!

enjoy the riverside view

we spent a good amount of time outdoors while renting this cabin because it's a great spot next to the shenandoah. it was a bit further from the national park than we realized, but as long as we had everything with us for meals we were fine. we had a campfire every night, as well as time in the hot tub. the kitchen was very clean and I easily found what I needed to prepare food. the bed was comfortable and the living room was a nice space for a little tv. we took the canoe out on the river too.

Excellent river cabin getaway

We had a great stay at the stepping stone cabin! Location is perfect and right on the river where we were able to take the included canoe out for a cruise down the river. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and came with everything you need. We really enjoyed the grill, hot tub and the fire pit! This place was perfect for our mountain getaway, only wish we could have stayed longer!

luray on the water

Loved the area view, watching the canoes going down and the different species of birds and butterflies around. Quite which was really nice. The weather was pretty much really nice after the weekend was over. My parents enjoyed themselves very much down there as well. Will be back for sure. Did get to use the hot tub on Sunday since it was cold and rainy that day very nice. Thank you

A Perfect Holiday Getaway

My husband and I stayed here with our two dogs over Christmas and New Years and we didn't want to leave. The views of the river from the main room, the wonderful hikes and walks, the indoor gas fireplace, the outdoor firepit and the hot tub looking out at the river never got old. This place has it all. The main hiking trail is about a .5mi walk and can get a bit steep but is still a great trail. We found we most enjoyed walking the roads (taking a right out of the driveway) which afforded not only beautiful views but an opportunity to see all the other cool houses. Not much traffic at all, so you feel like you're on a nice easy trail. =) The kitchen was INCREDIBLY well-stocked! We often bring our own non-stick pan and one sharp cutting knife and that was more that enough despite all the cooking we did based on everything that was available. Great to have a dishwasher too. The owner and property manager were extremely helpful and responsive. We needed some help with packages and they were incredibly accommodating. The home was even decorated for Christmas which was such a delightful surprise! Pro tip if you are staying there as a couple: The queen sized bed sinks a bit in the middle so we ended up pushing the two twin beds in the extra room together which led to peaceful nights sleep. For those who need wifi to work from the cabin, it can support most functions (like zoom) if you keep your video off and limit connection to one device. Multiple devices can be on for basic functions like text and e-mail. We would return to this location in a heartbeat and highly recommend for couples looking to get away from it all!

Expectation was so much better...

I was so Excited to rent a cabin in Luray, Va. The photos & reviews were promising! As soon as we pulled in, I thought Wow! This View of the river is absolutely Gorgeous! Fire Pit was so cool! As soon as we unlocked the door and went in....my whole image changed....the musty & dirty smell hit us in the face! Cob webs & spiders Galore! I felt like I was in a Halloween scene. Walked into the screened porch where the Hot Tub was located, which we were very Excited to have it screened in! Stink bugs Everywhere & Cobwebs Again! Opened the hot tub cover to find the jets were so rusted & Old! Hot tub also blew a fuse or breaker! The gas grill was Absolutely disgusting! I wouldn't grill food on there to save my life! The ONLY positive on this overnight stay was the Amazing River view & Fire Pit. Honestly, I couldn't wait to check out in the morning. VERY DISAPPOINTED! I would of rather got a Luxury hotel room for that price!
