About the host

I am a builder/cabinet maker and I am now concentrating on making bespoke furniture and timber decorative items for this house. My mission is to make this home a holiday destination that exceeds expectations. I love working with timber and I love living in Rye, so I am really looking forward to the future, and what I can do with this project.
Why they chose this property
I bought this property as an empty block in 1999 because my parents had a house very close by. I was working as a builder in the south east suburbs for many years. When I lost my mother in 2015, I decided to move to Rye, from Bayswater, to support my aging father. Soon I became anxious, and then It was clear to me that I needed to build a house here at some point.
What makes this property unique
I made the decision in 2017 and started building this house, mostly on my own, with a passion and dedication that I didn't know I had. It took me 4+ years but I got there, just!
I guess you could say I was inspired. I dedicate this house to my mum, who could fill a room with joy and laughter, and I honour her nickname. Welcome to 'Alogara House'.
