About this property

Spacious 1BR w/ Office in Hyde Park

This home away from home has a large queen size bed with fresh sheets, a large and relaxing living room, an additional bonus sun room that's great for a work space, free laundry, and a full kitchen. The 10 foot ceilings and large windows add character and a lot of light to this home. You will feel the 100+ years of history when walking in. This historic home was completely remodeled in 2010, includes three completely separate residences, and still has its old character and charm from 1915. Enjoy this historic home in Hyde Park!

Hyde Park is one of the most coveted neighborhoods in Austin. You'll be right in the middle of central Austin next to all of the exciting attractions, but also be in one of the quietest locations. The large trees and many historic homes make this a great place to walk, jog, or bike around at any time of the day. Walk a few blocks and you can be having breakfast at Quack's, one of the best locations in Austin for coffee and cupcakes, or eating at any of the several restaurants nearby (ASTI, Mother's Case, Julio's, Hyde Park Bar and Grill), take a walk to the local park and enjoy tennis, basketball, swimming, or playground for the kids, or even to a local museum. Don't want to walk or bike? The bus route is one block away and will take you almost anywhere in the city for $1.

We are family friendly and can accommodate children 5 years old or older. Total of 2 people includes any children.

Love the area! Great rental!

This was an amazing opportunity to rent in the charming neighborhood of Hyde Park, which is close to restaurants, parks, the University of Texas and so much more. We rented this unit for my daughter who was in Austin for a pre grad school internship. She enjoyed walking the neighborhood in the evenings, shopping nearby, and trying out the local restaurants and felt very safe. Parking is on the curb outside, but was never a problem, and the shared laundry is in an outbuilding in the back of the house. Pete was easy to reach, and answered any questions very quickly. Highly recommend!

Awesome bungalow in Hyde Park!

Our son was coming for Indiana for an internship in Austin for the summer. We really had no idea where to stay. After researching different options we decided on this awesome bungalow in Hyde Park. We made a great choice! Great neighborhood, he felt very safe. Quaint places to walk and eat. Nice eat in kitchen with everything you really need. The office area was spacious with lots of windows. The living room was cozy with good cable TV. Bed was very comfortable too! All around very clean. We will definitely be returning.

Comfortable space in a great town

Really enjoyed our visit to town and a big part of that was coming back to a nice place. Stocked with all the cooking supplies we needed. Comfortable couch and bed. Quiet neighborhood. Access to laundry for our stay was great. No complaints at all.

Older and cute house in a quaint neighborhood

Extremely clean, enough storage space and everything nicely organized. Not too close to the city center but a nice refuge from all the hustle and bustle, especially during SXSW.

Communication with Pete was great. Property was as described. Loved the location

Though parts of the unit show their age, everything was clean and kitchen necessities thoughtfully supplied. The bed was the best and neighborhood quiet. We loved walking Hyde Park and found two nearby favorite restaurants, Snooze and Picnik. One thing to note. If you have trouble climbing up into the tub for a shower, this may not be the place for you. Overall, great experience with property and manager.

Charming home in a great location!

The home is beautiful and full of charm! It's an older home with lots of character (which I love). There is a front porch that is great for relaxing. The location/neighborhood is perfect- close to a bakery, a cheese shop, restaurants and a grocery store. Neighbors are out strolling kids and walking dogs along tree-lined streets. Everyone is very friendly. You're also about 5 -10 minutes from downtown. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to be close to downtown without being right in the middle of it. The home is clean and comfortable. There are big windows that let in great daylight. The kitchen has all of the necessary tools. We didn't use any as we were hardly there, but there is certainly enough to cook, etc if you prefer. The bed is very comfortable. There is an office in the back that's great if you need it (we didn't, but it was a great space). This was the perfect location and a great home. We will be back!

Many fun times!

Recently returned from our FIRST trip to Austin! Lots to offer. Great times and ideal place to stay. Thanks Pete for everything. Wonderful towels. A little distance from Austin proper, but that gives you time to walk and explore Hyde Park. We ate at Asti Trattoria and Quack's Bakery, nearby. Wonderful grocery stores and convenient to the bus stop which takes you directly to the campus / State Capital. We tried to check out the Elizabet Ney Museum, but sadly the day we walked over it was closed. Looks like quite a gem for Hyde Park. Austin has loads of fun things to explore. If you go, don't miss the bats at dusk, The Firehouse Bar, Barton Springs, biking the area, the museums and live entertainment, fests, Lady Bird Lake biking and ... Salt Lick. Definitely worth the drive and BYOB if you make the trip. Fun Texas experience! The only downside is that Uber and Lyft have pulled out. I'm hoping for all that their absence isn't for long. We had 8 drivers during 3 of our days and each one was a mini tour guide for us and your city and surrounding area.

Clean, comfortable and convenient

This is the fourth time we have stayed in one of Pete's property because we know what to expect. The units are always clean, the beds are always comfortable, and Pete is always to quick to respond to a question or need. Hyde Park is great quiet neighborhood convenient to plenty of restaurants,. Public transportation is easily available to the near-by university and state Capitol. If you want assurance that your rental will be as advertised, any of Pete's units will meet or exceed your expectations.

Great Home in Great Neighborhood

My husband and I stayed in Unit C for 34 days and loved the property, neighborhood and the all around convenience. We were concerned about the size of the unit and how we would make out. That was not problem at all. Living room was comfortable and with a pull out sofa gave us another option when our grandson came to visit. The bedroom had a very nice closet with plenty of hangers and room for everything. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had some drawer storage which worked out very well. I am a very poor packer so had more clothes than I needed but everything fit into this room with no problem. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed along with a comfortable table and four chairs. Our unit had a sun room/office which was great for us and allowed us to spread out a little bit. Bathroom had claw-foot tub and linen closet. The whole place was spotlessly clean when we got there and in no time at all, we were settled. The neighborhood is great and loved the convenience of walking to restaurants, bakery, post office, parks, playgrounds, etc. Would definitely recommend this Unit and the Hyde Park neighborhood to everyone.

Great Place to Stay

We really like everything about the apt. The neighborhood was so convenient to everything we wanted to do. Parking was great -- right in front of the house. Very quiet neighborhood. There was a small shopping area you could walk to, with a bakery, store and several retardants. One was very vegan -- so that was great for me. Parking in Austin was pretty easy and inexpensive -- but I'm from NY so I may have a warped view. Pete was great in terms of customer service -- I felt he would be there if we had any issues, but we didn't. Everything was as described. And we had so much more room than we would have had at a hotel. While we didn't cook, the kitchen did seem to be well stocked.

Very comfy living space in very nice neighborhood

We arrived in the evening with clear easy to follow directions from the owner. The apartment was very clean, well lit, and comfortable with a choice of AC or fans during a typical Texas summer. Pete had left plenty of information that was helpful to us in finding activities in Austin and various places to find what we needed on our stay in a vacation rental. The best part of our stay was the neighborhood in which the apartment was located. Hyde Park is convenient to the entire Austin area yet has the feel of being removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, a very nice feeling to wake to and return to. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a true getaway within the city of Austin.

Superb Austin location in serene/fun environment

Perfect Hyde Park historical location, spotless triplex with tons of light, perfect place to walk all over down shaded streets and eat at affordable friendly restaurants, a grocery store and best of all Quacks bakery. So close to UT and downtown! We will be staying there again! Pete was very responsive and professional. Highly recommend!!
