THE PROPERTY: Bohemian bits indoors and lush landscaping outdoors will give you that tropical island feeling you are looking for. Warm wood tones and exposed beams can be found in the main living area. The family room with sofa, chair, and TV is open to the kitchen and dining areas. A wooden island with seating is the perfect place to enjoy a snack or beverage. A bright kitchen provides all that you will need to prepare meals. However, while on vacation, you may prefer to walk to one of Old Town’s amazing restaurants.

The bedroom is white and bright and adorned with bedside lamps and a nightstand. A dresser and closet provide you with storage. A partial wall with high shelves and a draped entrance separates the bedroom from the central living areas. You can also access the outdoor space from the bedroom. The bathroom is cozy and bright with a pedestal sink, tiled walk-in shower, and shelf storage.

This unit in the duplex home comes with shared outdoor amenities including a deck under a giant Banyan tree, a grill, and an outdoor washer and dryer. Solaris Garden is ideal for the traveler looking for walkability as well as the desire to kick back and relax in a casual, carefree home.

SOLARIS GARDEN occupies the back section of this first-floor duplex home. SOLARIS COTTAGE occupies the front section of this duplex home. For information on renting both parts of this duplex, please see SOLARIS PAIR-A-DISE.

BED CONFIGURATION: The queen bedroom is cozy and comfortable for 1 or 2 guests.

OUTDOOR AMENITIES: This duplex home shares an outdoor garden area, deck, chairs, grill, and washer/dryer.

PARKING: There is no designated parking for this rental, however, there is usually parking available on nearby Petronia and Angela Streets. To avoid a parking ticket, please be sure that you don’t park in a spot labeled "residential", as these are assigned to full-time residents.

LOCATION: The property is on a tiny, one-way lane in Old Town, North of Truman Avenue and just a block and a half from Duval Street. Leave your car at home because you are just a short walk or bike ride to many tourist attractions, bars, restaurants, shops, and galleries including Mallory Square, known for breathtaking sunsets and performers.

PETS: One (1) dog allowed, up to 25 lbs, for an additional fee and completion of Pet Information addendum. Must be 1 year of age or older. Must be spayed/neutered. All vaccinations must be up to date. Please be advised some breeds are not permitted. Sorry, cats are not allowed.

SMOKING: This is a non-smoking home and property.

The rental company was gracious and helpful, especially when we arrived and departed. We would definitely rent Solaris Garden again and have already told many friends about it. The unit is charming and the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, a nice porch light and motion sensor lights make you feel safe and welcome when coming home late. The bed and furnishings are very comfortable. It was great to have the washer/dryer on site. Seriously consider renting bikes for your stay-they make the whole island accessible without needling a car (parking very limited).

Anniversary Trip

This place is very quaint! Something out of vanity fair. Very close to everything. Get a scooter - no room for a car and if you are really going to go local and have a great time, get a scooter. Especially if there with the one you love! The only criticism (and it is small) is that they state they have everything you need there for you and they do not. Towels, blankets (you would be surprised how nice it is to wrap up after getting sun kissed, showered and lower the ac!), some items in the kitchen, etc. - you get the idea. Not a show stopper but an area for improvement. Overall, we will be coming back to Key West and will be staying here.

It is on a quiet lane with beautiful trees and plants around the patio. Easy to store the bikes. The kitchen and bathroom have all you need including good knives, wineglasses and a fabulous shower. Bed comfortable. Laundry and clothesline useful. The living space was thoughtfully and artfully designed. The minisplit, fans and air conditioner kept the temp just right. We also appreciated the concierge services provided that gave us a worry-free week in Key West. Thanks folks for your help getting the taxi, providing baggage storage when we arrived and helping with bike rental. We will be back!

Escape from the cold

Great property. Great location. We really enjoyed walking the neighborhoods throughout old town. Only a few minutes away from everything we wished to see and do. The rental was neat as a pin and amazingly clean. Nice relaxing out of the way place.

No car required and still quiet

It would be a great place for a couple, but I was there with my daughter and was easily able to sleep on the sofa comfortably. Fousto's Food Market, bars and restaurants are all within easy walking distances. Cars, scooters and golf carts were not part of the experience we wanted and this place worked well for that purpose.
