About this property

Located in a rural mountain setting, just 10 minutes drive west of Nelson, BC. This is a perfect base to explore the area - a short drive to Kootenay Lake and just 30 minutes drive to Whitewater Ski Resort, 55 minutes drive to Red Mountain Ski Resort and. Enjoy the beautiful mountain views, from this private entranced suite. After a day of exploring or skiing, relax in the common area hot tub. The suite has a cozy wood fireplace and fully equipped kitchen. We are kid friendly and dogs are welcome!

Enjoy a stay in our large 950q ft, one bedroom, one level ground floor suite. The suite has recently been renovated, complete with sound proofing. The suite has its own private entrance with key pad access. It is located on the ground floor of our family home. The home is situated on a beautiful 1.3 acre lot, surrounded by trees and with beautiful mountain views.

The home is accessed down a paved driveway and there is ample parking in front of the home. Guests will access the suite by a short walk, down through the yard.

The bedroom has 1 queen size bed with a cozy duvet. There is a large closet and dresser in the bedroom. The view from the bedroom is of the mountains and forest.

There is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. The convenience kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, conventional oven, microwave, toaster, pots, pans, plates, cooking and eating utensils, Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee/tea.

The living area has a oversized leather sectional and cable TV/DVD.

The dining area can seat 4 guests.

There are board games and books for guests to enjoy.

There is 1 full bathroom with a shower over the bathtub. The bathroom is located next to the bedroom.

The hot tub is located on the upper deck. It is shared with the main house and guests are welcome to use it between 10am and 10pm.

Children are very welcome and a Pack n Play crib and toys are available.

Dogs are welcome.

Two cots (twin-sized roll away beds) are available.

The suite is located on the ground floor of our family home. We added sound dampening to the suite, however some ambient noise (footsteps) is inevitable.

The Hot tub is located on the upper deck of our home, just a short walk from the entrance to the suite on the ground floor. The hot tub is open all year and is always on.

2 adults and 2 kids max. No reservations for 4 adults will be accepted.

Lovely quiet getaway

Our host was very nice. The suite was really clean and comfortable. Nice quiet neighbourhood perfect for walking the dog. The hot tub was a perfect temperature and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed.. We would definitely stay here again!

Great short vacation stay

Marie's vacation suite is located just outside of Nelson and offered great winter access to skiing and shoeshoeing. My wife and I loved the fact we could bring our dogs along. The hottub on site was a great way to relax after a day outdoors. The suite was spacious and welcoming with a comfortable bed and a large sofa and tv were complimentary. The kitchen is small but there is a nice outdoor dining area and large BBQ that we made use of. Communication with Marie was easy and courteous and we would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Mountain get-away!

We had an amazing time! Our hosts were so friendly and gracious, definitely living up to the reputation of friendly Canadians. The suite was very new and nicely furnished. The pellet stove was very cozy to curl up in front of after skiing all day. The neighborhood where the house is situated is like a little winter wonderland in the snow and very conveniently located to Nelson, White Water, and Red Mountain. The surrounding are is beautiful, very woodsy and mountainous. We would love to come back!

Weekend in Nelson

This house is approximately 15 mins outside of Nelson in a beautiful area. Hosts let us know ahead of time that google may error in the location - which it did! Easy communication solves that problem. Suite was perfect for us and very comfortable. Everything we needed was there.

Great suite, roomy and comfortable.

Marie is a great host. The suite is immaculate and equipped with all we needed. Lots of space inside for two of us. Spent most of our time on the nicely shaded porch area. Listening to the squirrels and the birds. Good neighbourhood down a quit driveway. Close to Nelson, Castlegar and the Slocan Rail Trail. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Serenity

If you are looking for a serene and "under the stars" getaway this is the place. The property is situated 15 km outside of Nelson high on the hillside. The view is wonderful and the private deck/yard gives you comfort to "kickback". The accommodations were very comfortable and on the rainy days it was nice to have the wide screen tv. There was no dishwasher or washer/dryer but that didn't matter once you gazed upon the view through the many windows. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the multitude of recreational activities the surrounding area had to offer.

Staying above the clouds

We had a peaceful, pleasant time in the spacious lower level of the home. It was well equipped with a very comfortable bed and plenty of windows to take in the ever changing view of the valley below. The host is friendly and responds quickly. We brought our dog and it’s a pet friendly place.

A beautiful stay

The property, while a little difficult to find, was just as it was listed. The fire pit was a nice edition. The provision of tea, coffee, and shower amenities was nice. Marie and Alain were very nice and welcoming. I would recommend a stay with them anytime.

Excellent property!

We loved our stay! Really nice location, well maintained property with nice spacious back yard, lots of parking and kids playground. Owners are very nice people, made us very comfortable, our kids played with their kids and that made our stay even more enjoyable - its great to have a company! Nice hot tub. Clean house, nice bedding. Kitchen has everything you need. We had a mouse noise at night and it was fixed immediately by owners, they seemed very responsible and attentive. Lots of wildlife around, you will definitely see elk, deer, we got lucky and saw a black bear up on the tree. Nelson is 20 mins drive. We enjoyed every minute and definitely will be back. Would definitely recommend this property!

Nice Nest Near Nelson

Very nice, comfortable and spacious apartment in a beautiful setting in a quiet, fairly upscale neighborhood a few minutes west of Nelson. Photos on website give an accurate idea of the accommodations. Climbed nearby Toad Mountain, which is beautiful and has great views, though you'll definitely want a high clearance 4WD vehicle for road access. Would definitely stay there again!
