Enjoy the luxury of a resort with the freedom of your own cottage in this stunning end unit at the Cottages at Windermere on Lake Rosseau. This cottage is right next to the prestigious Windermere House Resort which operates year round and cottage guests have access to all of the amenities provided there year round. Professionally decorated and maintained by a cleaning service, this serene retreat is completely turnkey. Clean linens and freshly made beds await your arrival. All the dishes and necessities are already in stock. You only need to bring clothes and food (and if you don't bring food you can take advantage of the delicious food next door at the Windermere House Pub & restaurant)!
This lovely end unit is completely open to a field and forest on the east side, so the views east as the sun rises are almost as breathtaking as the views of the lake! Light floods into the main floor from both sides every morning making it the perfect place to sip your coffee.
The whole main floor is open concept with a huge dining table that easily sits 8 people, so there's lots of room to entertain. A side cabinet has Scrabble, lots of board games, and jigsaw puzzles galore.
Highlights include a spacious deck looking out over the lake with gas BBQ and comfortable patio furniture. A fully screened Muskoka room with its own gas fireplace and tables and chairs gives lots of privacy for al fresco dining.
If you are interested in renting in spring or winter, this cottage boasts 3 gas fireplaces (living room, Muskoka room & principal bedroom) to keep you warm & toasty wherever you go. The comfy furniture gives lots of options for places to curl up and the wifi & satellite TV give great entertainment when the weather outside is frightful. The views are equally delightful in all four seasons!
Windermere House next door has a lovely pub open 7 days a week and a beautiful restaurant called The Rousseau. The resort also boasts a small store called 'The Trading Post' which is a great place to stock up on snacks and any essentials you might have forgotten to pack. If you run out of groceries, a 15 minute drive will get you to Port Carling. There are also some great restaurants in Port Carling that are worth checking out!
In warmer weather, head down to the lovely little Windermere beach. The soft sandy bottom and shallow water near the shore are ideal for wading or splashing around with the kids. Lake Rousseau is also great for kayaking and water sports of all kinds.
Guests can also take advantage of the resort amenities at Windermere House! A beautiful heated outdoor swimming pool & hot tub open year round flanked by barrel saunas with a view of the lake for that Nordic Spa experience. Activities abound: tennis courts, shuffleboard, a bonfire and much more! The resort also has AMBA Spa on site if you would like to book a massage or facial while you're visiting, and an exercise room so you don't have to miss your daily workout. Close by is the public Marina, and the Windermere Golf & Country Club. This property really has it all!

About the host
Hosted by Amy C

I am a Mom with grown kids. I work full time but I love to travel and spend time in cottage country with friends whenever I can. I live in a small town east of Toronto, so I am surrounded by lovely scenery most of the time.
Why they chose this property
I have always wanted to own a cottage but it never seemed practical to put so much money into something that I would only have the time to use on occasion. When I saw the Cottages at Windermere, they were the perfect combination of a beautiful retreat and carefree maintenance. I love the fact that I can just show up and relax - all the cleaning and maintenance are taken care of.
What makes this property unique
What I loved about this cottage when I first saw it was the fact that it was the perfect combination of luxurious and cozy. Also, it's very spacious and full of light. I especially love to sit in front of the fire in the Muskoka room and read while I drink my coffee in the morning. It feels very quiet and secluded to me, even though it's next to other cottages. I love being there in the winter season and going for walks along the lake or snowshoeing on the golf course. During every season, it's nice to have dinner next door at Windermere House or grab a drink at the Pub.
