Kaka Cabin with amazing views and birdlife

Kaka Cabin is 10 mins drive from the hub of Matakana
My Dad and I built the modern main cabin in 2020, its a very cool space with a heat pump to keep you warm and cool.
Inside the modern cabin, you'll find a very comfy king-size bed, smart TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, plus the bonus of a Nespresso. Fridge to keep your drinks cold whilst you relax on the deck or on the couch. And if you realy need it Wifi,
If you don’t like birds don’t stay here as the bird life is amazing, One of our Natives Parors the Kaka you will hear nearly all day and late into the night.
If you want to get away then this is the place for you.
It has amazing views down to Campbell Beach and out into Kawau Bay.
There is another older sleepout which is detached from the main cabin, The Toilet, shower and washing machine room is also detached from the main cabin all are connected buy a small path.
My property is situated right next to a bush farm land so please expect birds and other animals and insects that live in the bush to come and say hello.

Kaka wonderland
Great little spot. Proactive communication from Bach owner and absolutely brilliant bird watching the native parrots every evening. Bit of the tricky lock into kitchen but owner was straight back on the phone to trouble shoot.

I had a lovely time at this place. I found the studio very comfortable and had a nice view. there is snow available kitchen space so it’s perfect for people who are looking to explore the surrounding area during the day and just need a place to sleep.

Great option for the price
Lovely location. We didn't get there early enough to really enjoy the area and had to leave early the next day, but it would be a great summer spot. Just be aware that there isn't a bathroom attached to the units -it is a separate building, so not ideal in winter while it's raining. This may have been in the ad, but I hadn't noticed it.

Great for a Short Stay
Unfortunately we arrived in pouring rain and then discovered the deep culverts surrounding property wouldn't allow us to get our large trailer boat onto section which wasn't a great start! Long lawns and a bbq that was in such bad repair we couldn't use it really didn't help. But as the week went by, the lawns got mowed, the sun came out and the amazing birdlife came to visit which was so exciting seeing a tree full of wood pigeons. The cabin is very small and hot but very clean and tidy, perfect for a couple with not much gear. The remaining buildings are in need of some major repairs and upkeep. If you love native birds then you will love it here, if you have a fear of spiders then you will hate it! All in all we enjoyed the surrounding area as it had so much to offer.

Easy access and quiet location. Comfortable large bed . Bathroom and toilet located in another building a short walk from room which was not expected. Makes for a chilly trip to the facilities on a cold night. Otherwise very pleasant.

Photos lead you to believe shower & toilet are in cabin but they are not! You have to walk outside in the cold to the shower & toilet. No cooking facilities in cabin, no space in cabin, a big letdown! Will never return to this dump!

The property looked good from the outside.Expedia sent the confirmation email but nothing was sent from the Vrbo proprt owners. Waited a couple hours after check with no results so we checked in to a hotel.
