Over the years, our guests have posted reviews of their stays, for which we are grateful. We think those reviews speak for themselves. The home has almost everything your family will need to enjoy your vacation on the beach. The patio, family room, master bedroom and deck share panoramic views of the ocean south to La Jolla and north to Camp Pendleton. The property is unique in that it has an open lot to the south, opening it up to the beach on two sides and bathing the interior with sunlight all day long.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an assortment of cooking tools. We have an array of spices provided along with coffee, soaps, and cleaning materials. There is a large cable/internet TV in the kitchen/family room, the master bedroom and second bedroom. We have two high speed WI-FI access points accessible throughout the house and on the deck.
The garage can accommodate 2 cars, it houses the ping pong table along with bikes, boogie boards, foam surfboards, and miscellaneous sand and beach toys
With the open lot to the south, the fully equipped kitchen and large family room enjoy panoramic views of the water while you are cooking, dining and relaxing. From the large deck, you can people watch or enjoy the waves and surfers, or the frequent visits from jumping (and sometimes surfing) dolphins. The beach is known for its good surf and you can use the surfboards or boogie boards provided. A small private sand area on the patio is perfect for small children who can play with the collection of sand toys provided. Next to the house is an area for horseshoe pits that also doubles as a bocce ball court or bean bag toss.
Access to the beach is just off the south side of the house, walk out the sliding doors down the slope to the vacant lot and you are on the beach. The patio has an extra large remote controlled awning for shade, and plenty of chaise lounges for sunning.
The Oceanside pier is just a mile's stroll up the beach. The revitalized downtown provides a large variety of craft beer venues, restaurants and a movie theater. The Oceanside harbor is a short distance past the pier and features more restaurants, water sports activity and sailing/fishing charters. Enjoy a ride to the pier and back on our beach cruisers, or take a stroll and enjoy the views.
Less than a block to the south is Buccaneer Park. It includes a tasty little food hut for lunch, snacks, and sometimes dinner. All of our guests are surprised at the menu and the food, it is quite good. The park also has a basketball court, swings, and slides for young children.
The San Diego Zoo, Wild Safari Animal Park, Lego Land, Gaslamp District of Downtown San Diego and Balboa Park with all its wonderful museums are just a 30 minute drive down the freeway. Horse racing at Del Mar racetrack is just 20 minutes south (the race season runs from mid-July to the first week of September). A little over an hour away you will find Disneyland, California Adventures, and Knott's Berry Farm. Bicycle trails for road and mountain bikes abound, and you will see riders passing in groups daily up and down the street.
