Absolutely incredible place to stay
Casa del Arbor is a truly magical place - we were a group of 5 (2 parents & 3 adult children) and there was plenty of space for us all. It's really nicely decorated with a very natural & calming theme, and all bedrooms have excellent AC (fan in the lounge).
It's very well stocked and all the essentials are provided for your arrival (pots, pans, microwave, tea/coffee, gas BBQ, etc) as well as some great 'nice to haves', such as candles, bluetooth speaker, yoga mats, hammocks and snorkelling gear.
However, the animals around the property were the stars (which is saying something given how good the property is!!) - every day we seemed to see something different from humming birds and native squirrels (some carrying their babies) to an entire troop of howler monkeys resting in the trees and eating mangoes. It really was amazing to be able to watch them whilst swimming in the pool.
Augustina (the property manager) was amazing also and always on hand for advice and bookings.
If you are lucky enough to stay at Case del Arbor, hire a 4x4!!!! The roads on the Nicoya Peninsula are something else - just getting onto the property's drive requires additional clearance. Also, allow plenty of time to get anywhere...driving into Santa Teresa takes about 20-25 minutes and we averaged 27kph / 17mph over the duration of our stay (and that included driving on paved roads before we reached the peninsula).
