Lovely and relaxing family getaway!

We had an amazing time at Bonnie Vista! The description online and the answers we got to our questions in advance perfectly matched what we found at the property. Bonnie and her Mum were super helpful both before and during our stay and nothing seemed too much trouble. The cottage was so well equipped and beautifully decorated. The views over the lake were amazing. We all enjoyed the paddle boards, kayaks, and swimming in the lake…and smores on the beach by the fire pit. A wonderful holiday and we are so glad we picked this property. Thank you!!

A lovely cottage in a beautiful lake

We had a wonderful stay at the Bonnie Vista in Big Gull Lake. The two bedroom cottage has been beautifully renovated such that it is essentially brand new. The kitchen is well equipped, lacking for nothing (except maybe a coffee grinder, although the blender worked for that purpose). Spacious deck with dining table and lounging sofa with a beautiful view of the lake. There are plenty of sitting areas at the lake including a screened area. In terms of water craft there is a canoe, a couple of play kayaks and a paddle board. (That said, it’s not high end gear so bring your own if you’re fussy.) The property faces northwest so you’ve got beautiful sunsets. There are a number of cottages in the bay, but in general big Gull Lake does not have very many cottages and as a result, the boat traffic is pretty minimal. We took advantage of the marina in the same bay to rent a pontoon boat for the day which enabled us to explore a good chunk of the lake. That is definitely worth doing. Back to the cottage, it is a two bedroom and although there is a pullout couch in the living room, it’s really ideal for two couples.

Quiet lake with all the beauty Ontario has to offer.

Great lake. Big lake. Beautiful lake. Cottage compact but well appointed. Views are terrific and fire pit at night awesome. Star gazing is wonderful.

Lovely lake cottage

We had a great time at Bonnie Vista and the owners are wonderful. We had an issue with the dock and it was addressed immediately and they could not have been nicer. The way in which the owners handled the situation was so professional and thorough. We know that an issue can arise in a rental home, but it's how it's solved that makes the difference. They were awesome! The cottage is clean, well stocked and everything is new so it's wonderful. The view is fabulous and the only down side would be that there are many steps to get to the lake, which is visible on the VRBO photos. We are grandparents and we were fine and we got our flights climbed on our heart monitor!!! Thanks for a wonderful week!!

Too many great things to list :)

Our family of 4 + dog LOVED our stay. The rental had everything you can ask for. Plenty of spaces inside and out for us to hang out and relax. We spent most of time on the lake or beach area, on some sort of watercraft during nice days and the interior is a blend of modern, midcentury and chalet that was cozy for rainy parts of our stay. The reno’s looked great and made our stay really comfortable, we didn’t really have to think of anything. Camp’s Bay is conveniently close by, we rented a boat to fish and tour around the lakes. Owners were really helpful and attentive. This is our first rental on this lake but we will absolutely come back. 5 bigs stars all around :)

Big Gull Lake Cottage

This cottage has been completely renovated and modernized. New appliances, new woodwork on the walls, new flooring , new ceiling, roofing, lighting and electrical. The owner(s) went out of their way to ensure new leisure amenities for their guests’ use i.e. new patio couches, new Adirondack chairs and outdoor recliners ,new fire pit, new paddle boards. Lots of variety in watercraft available ( canoe, duo kayak , paddle boards,) and an array of life jackets in various sizes if needed. The cottage was very very clean. It was well stocked with necessities. Firewood was made available for the fire pit, which we utilized in some nightly campfires. We were given use of a propane barbecue wherein the owners supplied two propane tanks just in case one ran out. The view of the lake from the deck in particular was spectacular. Overall a fantastic and relaxing experience. Would I go back? Yah, I would.

Bonnievista 1 wk stay summary.

A very clean, neat, well stocked, comfortable renovated cottage. A beautiful large glass railed patio with very comfy furniture. Portable A/C in one bedroom and high end fan in other. Lovely bathroom and kitchen. High end appliances. No washer and dryer available. Waste and recyclables cannot be tipped at any local transfer station as owner residency card required is not provided. This would be very helpful to leave for guests to use even if additional fee is charged. As outlined in the description all waste/recyclables need to be taken out with you. This requires planning and space in car. Swimming by dock only as shallow entry is slippery and weedy.
