Great place right on the beach
Beautiful large house right on the beach with amazing sunsets every evening. The neighborhood is quaint and mostly quiet except for some weekend parties. The local manager Xavier was extremely helpful and helping us obtain a cook that would come in cook for us, organize excursions, and fix any problems that arose. All in all a great place if you want a relaxing stay in a beach house.

Beautiful place at a great location
This is a great house in a great location, right on the beach in a quiet neighborhood in Melaque. The beachfront setting is fantastic, with your own palapa and enclosed sandy area. The only thing missing (that would make this house over the top) is a small pool to cool down. We enjoyed dinners in the palapa from a cook we hired, walks through the neighborhood for coffee or breakfast, even massages on the beach. All in all a great time.

Perfect for us!
The house was a great fit for our group. Javier, the property manager was super helpful is getting us settled. The teenagers loved skim boarding on the beach and we had as much fun watching them. Stunning sunsets, good food close by at the Frog, spa at Silvi's for massages and small shop next door for necessities...perfect! Thanks for everything...

Wonderful stay!
Beautiful beachfront location. Open kitchen and outdoor dining was perfect for our big family. House guide provided beforehand gave key details to make logistics easy. House manager was very responsive. Music noise from a close by resort is only complaint - bring ear plugs to sleep. Would book again!

Under the Palapa
Responsive property manager and on-site manager, Javier & his wife, Sylvia, very helpful. Spent most of our time under palapa with a magnificent ocean view & lucky enough to see 2 whales. Very hot & humid while there, so 1 of 3 couples had to sleep off kitchen for a breeze & therefore had very little privacy.

Family fun
The check in was a breeze, Javier was there waiting for us. He was extremely helpful. If you like a vacation where Mexicans also spend their holidays, then this is a great location. Lots of food options. The Frog restaurant closed early for Christmas Eve, but they made us a fabulous dinner to go!! A small tienda across the street for milk, soda, ice cream etc.. The house was perfect for our family. Eight people, three generations. Could have accommodated one more couple comfortably. The house is on a beautiful beach, a 20 minute walk to Barra de Navidad and a 10 minute walk to downtown Melaque.

Perfect place to kick back and enjoy your stay in Melaque
This is such a beautiful, comfortable property. There are thoughtful touches in every room to make your stay perfect. We felt like we are in someone's home...complete with cooking spices and BBQ. It definitely differs from other properties we have rented. The property manager, Javier, was so helpful and friendly. We hated to leave. Joanne

Everything was great about this property!
Loved the location, the house, and dealing with the owner and property manager. Everything went smooth and easy. I'm disappointed the price went up but I understand why. The house is nice and can sleep 5 couples easy. It's right on the beach, just walk through your backyard gate and enjoy. There wasn't any strange beach traffic walking by, so that was nice. I highly recommend!

Amazing beach vacation
Our family of 8 (grandparents, parents and teens) all stayed here for a week. What a fun week we had. The house has a ton of space with 4 separate bedrooms-all with their own bathroom and the extra king bed off the living room. Huge kitchen and dining area .The location and view are amazing and worth every penny. Right on the gorgeous playa. We waliked down the beach towards San Patricio and had drinks/lunch at Garcia's often. We used the 5 bikes. .approx 5 minutes to downtown San Patricio..15 min walk which we did as well. Highly recommend this villa. We miss it already 😁

True mexican holiday
We had a great new yrs holiday with three families! This house was perfect for both spreading out and coming together. Lots of bathrooms and beds. A good open space for kitchen and living area, with the option to eat inside or out ( you never want to miss a sunset as this view is fantastic). Beach access at your doorstep and bikes to use for trips to the markets. Melaque is a wonderful , authentic mexican town. The option to go into bara de navidad or take day tours keeps everyone busy! Look forward to our return visit.

We Love Casa Zafiro
We loved our stay in Melaque. The location at the Casa was perfect for us. It is near the end of Melaque , so quite private, yet still close to everything. We had the beach to ourselves. Lots of people enjoyed sunrise runs on the beach, and the palapa is a perfect place for morning coffee. The covered deck was a great place for our morning yoga practice. A 20 minute beach walk takes you to Barre De Navidad. The bikes get you to the 'busy' end of Melaque in about 10 minutes. There are many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk, and we frequented the store down the road for supplies from tequila to sunscreen . The Casa is a good size . We had our group of 3 couples and there was still an extra room with a king and single bed. This would be great for 4 or even 5 couples, (if someone wanted to sleep in the bed off the kitchen) or families with children. Our adult kids did most of the cooking, which was awesome. The spacious kitchen is well stocked and set up. Our nutritionist daughter was impressed to see a Vitamix, as were the margarita crew. The 'happy hour palapa seats a large group to watch the beautiful sunsets. Javier, the maintenance man, is a great resource and was there in minutes with anything we needed. His wife Sylvia runs a fabulous spa just around the corner. We can't wait to return to this fabulous, authentic Mexican town where the culture is so apparent. (No big all inclusive resorts here) Cobblestone and dirt roads, donkeys on the corner and happy children in the streets! Our only concern would be the big waves. They are fabulous for strong swimmers, but not great for little ones. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

Amazing honeymoon destination
This place was incredible! For the second half of our honeymoon we stayed at this beach front villa and it was very relaxing. We swam every day and reclined in the beach chairs. We also loved the fact that we could ride our bikes into town for groceries or to explore. The sunsets were incredible and wandering down the beach was always fun. The house is beautiful and the vaulted ceiling in the kitchen and common space was our favourite part. Everyone we met in Melaque was so friendly and went out of their way to help us if we were lost. Javier was very helpful and friendly in showing us around and telling us the main attractions nearby. We would definitely come again and because it is so spacious maybe bring friends next time. Thank you!

Great Vacation
Our group of 8 enjoyed our time spent at Casa Zafiro. The location was perfect in our opinion because we were far enough from town to not hear all the festivities (St. Patrick days celebration -goes well into the early morning hours) yet close enough to walk or bike in and enjoy as we wanted. The house had everything we needed as our group enjoys cooking. The view each morning and evening from the patio and palapa was beautiful thus setting the stage for decompressing and enjoying our vacation. Loved the fact that we could walk each morning just down the street (at Laguna del Tule)to get fresh squeezed juice, several restaurants were also in walking distance and having 5 bicycles made further exploring around Melaque a breeze! Thanks Lisa and Patrick for providing your home. Also a big THANK YOU to Javier, house manager, that provided any and all info that we may have needed- a great resource.

wonderfull vacation
Your home in Melaque was fantastic, you would have never know there was a major storm through there. Javier was great, and a great source of information on what to do in the area. We had a great time just sitting on the beach and watching the waves, then heading into town to sample the different foods. The ladies did their very best to help the local merchants and stimulate the economy, they really enjoyed the Wednesday market yesterday before we headed home. We were able to go to Colima, Barra, and include quad tour of the local hills. Your home was the best, comfy, very spacious, and the lawn was great9especially in the evening with the little fire flies). Sitting out under the covered patio listening to the waves and watching the sunset was very really relaxing and a perfect finish to many wonderful days. I would like to thank you for allowing us to share your house and it will be on our list for future places to visit.

Fantastic Stay
Everything about the Casa Zafiro was truly great. We loved Jarvier, he was so helpful and a friend to us. The house is even more beautiful then the photos. There are so many nooks and crannies to hand out in if you wanted privacy or alone time. The ocean breeze kept us cool enough in the day and evenings. The beach is right there, if you want to swin its better to go down to other part of Melaque. We could walk to get supplies and and get a drink or dinner. We had a truck as we like to explore the surrounding beaches. If you want authentic, beauty, relaxing but plenty to do, then this is the perfect place for you. The people in the area are helpful and so nice. This is my second year in the area and first year the this house, I would go back for sure.

Couldn't be happier!
We had a group of 8 stay (from 11 years to 67)at Casa Zafiro at the end of February 2015. It was, exactly, as advertised. Dealing with the owners, Lisa and Patrick, was great as they were very forthcoming, honest and accommodating. Lisa mentioned in a email that this was 'a very special place'. I'd have to completely agree. Javier, the property manager, met us promptly at the arrival time, walked us through the Casa and the rest was just 7 days of wonderful Mexican relaxation. The house is modest but clean, big, cool, and feels like a house on the beach should. The Casita rooms were spacious, the outdoor palapa shower was excellent and the kitchen was very well laid out for a big group to work together in. The beach side of the property is where the real magic happens. The yard is beautifully constructed and being right on the beach is so fantastic. We ate every meal under the Palapa and spent every day playing in the waves and laying under the two huge property umbrellas on the excellent assortment of beach chairs. There were also 5 bikes that came with the house the we used every single day. Loved cruising the community on them. Overall it was truly a wonderful experience. Pros: Quiet south location of Melaque and beach area, two big main bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, bikes, great kitchen, 2 fridges, Wi-Fi, fantastic beachfront yard. Cons: Waves can be bigger and beach a bit steep (we loved them but some people might have to go down the beach a bit - not a big deal really), hmmmm, having trouble finding cons.

Perfect beachfront getaway for our large group
We stayed at this house for a week in late March 2014, and couldn't have been happier. Plenty of space for our group of ten young professionals (four couples and two singles). We LOVED being right on the beach, and ate breakfast and dinner on the patio almost every day. It was so nice to be away from usual touristy Mexican vacation spots, yet without sacrificing proximity to an airport (very easy drive - we rented a small car, which was nice for grocery shopping, too). There are bikes and boogie boards to use, and a really fun, steep surf... wish I knew how to skimboard, but had a great time watching the locals anyway. The fully-equipped kitchen made cooking easy, but be sure you take a few trips into town for dinner, too... fantastic tacos on every corner. Hope to return to this spot!
