About this property

Beautiful house, exceptional location

Recently renovated beautiful house minutes from the South Shores' most incredible beaches. 15 min from Lunenburg, 30 minutes to Blue Rocks, and a short ferry to Rissers Beach and the best croissants this side of Paris at the Ploughmans Lunch.

The house was originally built in the early 20th century and has undergone extensive renovations.

There is a large porch in front of the house with a Webber BBQ and two Adirondack/Muskoka chairs. This is a lovely place to have a morning coffee/tea etc.

A completely new modern kitchen with gas stove, double fridge, dishwasher, and microwave. A beautiful harvest table seats six (one side with a bench and three chairs on the other) A large built-in cabinet is an original design.

The main floor has a full bathroom with a tub/shower.

The living room which at one time was two small rooms has been opened up to one large space with a chez leather couch, and a mid-century rocking chair.

There is a dedicated office with a desk and, laser printer as well as high-speed internet.

On the second floor, there are two bedrooms and a large bathroom with laundry. The primary is huge with a queen-size bed (Temperpedic) and a large double closet.

The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed on a foam mattress. There is a dresser in this room. There is a small shallow closet as well.

The main bathroom is very large with two vanities, a lovely claw-foot tub as well as a separate shower.

There is a washer/dryer located in this room as well.

Guest access
You will have the entire house to yourself and a dedicated passcode to the keypad lock on the front door.
Other things to note
A large 47-inch T.V. with Apple TV including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple +, CBC, etc (there is no "cable")

High-speed internet throughout the house.

Coming to the South Shore of Nova Scotia offers a tonic to life in the city, no matter the size. With too many beaches to mention between 3 and 20 minutes away you will not lack sand. Lunenburg the UNESCO heritage town with supermarkets, restaurants, and art galleries is 15 min away (soon to be less when the bridge on Route 332 is completed) The quaint market/restaurant Rose Bay Store is 4 min down the road and they sell wine/beer and a selection of groceries.

The Ovens Park is a few minutes away with incredible views and live music (it's owned by the brother of late folk singer Harry Chapin)

30 min away is the larger town of Bridgewater with a movie theater, supermarkets, restaurants, and the usual fast food choices.

This area offers hiking, beaches, and relaxation. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful Rose Bay Homestead

LOVED our stay at this home. Beautiful large rooms with a clean and uncluttered design, yet having a historical vibe to all that this house must have experienced. The modern kitchen is gorgeous. The large bedroom upstairs had a GREAT mattress and the upstairs bathroom was wonderful, shower and claw footed bath tub with two vanities and LOTS of space--with a washer and dryer in the upstairs bath, just the most convenient place. Spent most of our evenings on the porch. Loved the Rose Bay Store and Bistro, just a quick 5 minutes away. This home is one of our favorite stays. David was awesome to work with and a great communicator! Just as an aside, be aware that the exterior of the house is still being renovated. Old homes just take a lot of love, maintenance and renovation - but there is no impact to the interior. If ever in the area we would certainly come back and enjoy this homestead once again!
