Disappointing Stay

The house itself was clean and comfortable with a beautiful mountaintop view and cozy wood fireplaces (indoor and outdoor with wood included) however access to the property was treacherous with a 1/2 mile very steep and narrow dangerous gravel driveway with several hairpin turns, we spun out on the gravel even with an SUV in low/snow gear, 4wheel drive was recommended but should be required in description, with a more detailed disclosure about the private drive conditions, along with no washer and dryer access, not one game available, TV wouldn’t work, kitchen was adequate, but steps outside were steep and hard to maneuver from parking by the garage, we could not get up the steep hill to the ramp access, from the garage there is a house access with less steps but the door is locked from inside with no key available for its use, staying there gave us a lot of anxiety about getting up and down the hill and also worry about any emergency to get help, we are 70 year old seniors and it was not conducive for us, very disappointing because we normally love the area, unfortunately we left a day early

House is beautiful with a great view

House was beautiful with a great view. The driveway is as described in the listing. But honestly wasnt 'that' bad. We drove my Ford Explorer and made it up just fine with no 4WD. Internet didnt work when we arrived (i believe the power may have gone out before we arrived due to all the winds) but communication to get it reset was easy. I will say the trip up the mountain was far worse for me than the driveway itself. We booked tbis stay to take our son to visit Western Carolina University and though its 16 miles from the University it was 45 minutes one way (up or down the mountain) and apparently that trip is not for me. But that is a personal preference. We wanted mountain top views I guess I wasnt prepared for what that.meant for that mountain top drive. 45 minutes at 10-25 mph around twisting narrow roads with other vehicles closely passing you. The house did have a dog smell to it. We have dogs so it wasnt the end of the world to us but someone wbo may have allergies probably should beware. The house was clean other than that. We didnt really cook much in the kitchen since it was just a couple days visiting the college we wanted to spend time exploring the town and surrounding areas. We did end up making frozen pizzas our last night there and upon looking for something to cut it with i would say im thankful we didnt plan to cook while there. There wasnt much to choose from for cookware and the pizza cutter was rusty. Beds were super comfortable!
