About this property

🌲🌲Twin Tree Cabin in Magical Port Renfrew

This warm and cozy cabin is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Steps to some of the most beautiful beaches on the wild West Coast of Vancouver Island. Port Renfrew offers world class fishing, hiking, and surfing. Botanical Beach, Sombrio Beach, and Avatar Grove are just a few of the breathtaking destinations that captivate visitors and locals alike. Nearby are a couple of hidden gems - bring your kayak and explore Fairy Lake, and see the "most photographed tree in Western Canada" - a natural bonsai.
The Space:
This quaint cedar cabin has everything you would need to make it "home away from home". A fully stocked kitchen, with a full-size fridge and stove. A huge oversized deck to relax on, or perhaps barbeque up a fresh salmon catch, and then settle in by the stunning outdoor stone fireplace. This is a quiet and peaceful cabin community of owners and guests - there is a palpable sense of tranquility whispered in the trees and in the distant crashing of the waves.
The cabin is professionally cleaned with a full hotel-grade linen change between each guest.
Guest access:
Guests will be given the code to access to a secure lock box for keys one day prior to arrival. There is parking for 2 vehicles, or one vehicle and one boat/trailer. Access to Pacific Gateway Marina is just a minute away.
There is a shared community laundry space available to cabin guests for longer stays (1 week or longer). There is a TV with Firestick for streaming (Netflix, Apple TV) and a DVD player and great selection of movies.
Kayaks are for owner use only, thank you.
Other things to note:
The main cabin is one bedroom/one bathroom. Please note the Bunkhouse is not attached to main cabin, but does have heat and lights, and a very solid and comfortable twin bunkbed (may not be suitable for guests with young children - probably more suited to guests 12 yrs and up).
Guest will have use of firewood, for use at the cabin only.

Port Renfrew Tiny cabin/treehouse
The cabin was in a great location. We loved fire pit, supplies, outdoor space, subdivision, quiet area. Suggestions-coffee on location, clear away clutter to give more space in cabin-even just for 2 it was tight. The outside bunkhouse was too tiny and lacked ample ventilation.

Rustic but lovely
Beautiful space to sit outside, quaint. Lovely bedroom and bathroon. In quiet community. A bit more kitchen space would be appreciated and a bit of a bunkie spruce up but overall, very much enjoyed

Charming cabin
The cabin itself is very charming but we were quite disappointed in the lack of cleanliness. The floors were sticky and the floor mats throughout the unit were visibly dirty. Nearly all the dishes in the kitchen needed rewashing before using. Some of the furniture (bed and couch) were quite worn and not comfortable. The area and location are amazing. The owners communication was prompt and respectful.

Good and bad
The covered porched and outdoor fireplace was a blessing considering it rained most of the day. The host kindly let us check in at 3 instead of 4. I waited too late to book one night in Port Renfrew at a more reasonable rate and sadly booked this cabin for a whopping amount. And to make matters worse, I accidentally booked for 1 instead of 2 people. Having mentioned that to the host, I had to pay extra. Ouch! The website was changed to reflect the extra I paid shortly after. I enquired about sleeping in the bunkie or sofa bed (the site lists it sleeps 4) but she said I would have to pay extra for the bunkie and the sofa bed was for children. I had no choice but to share a bed with my friend. I think what I paid was enough money to provide 2 separate places for people to sleep without having to pay MORE. Very unhappy. I pulled the night table out to plug in my charger and there was someone else's article of clothing covered in layers of dust. The host kindly suggested I get groceries before coming to Port Renfrew as there was not a lot of choice once there. I asked if I could at least drop my groceries off while waiting for check in but she suggested I get a cooler bag as the fridge needed to be "sterilized." Upon checking in, the fridge door was full of used condiments. We had to remove our own garbage and recycle upon check out. Did I not pay for cleaning? I left to fly home so I left good butter, bread and mayo in the fridge. I'm not throwing out good food.

Beautiful
Myself and my three kids stayed here for three days and two nights. It’s a beautiful location just a 10 minute walk away from the beach. We did four local hikes very close to our cabin.I recommend bringing your food in as the local “grocery store “doesn’t have a lot of stuff in it.I would definitely recommend staying here.

About the host

My husband and I were both born and raised on Vancouver Island and are proud to call this beautiful west coast home. We were so fortunate to purchase this property and sharing it with excellent visitors brings us a lot of pride.

Why they chose this property

Port Renfrew is simply magical. There is an almost spiritual element here, a sense of peace when staying here. The beaches are majestic, wide and surreal in all seasons. Some of the largest trees in the world have been growing in the area for thousands of years. Visiting Port Renfrew feels restorative to body and soul.

What makes this property unique

This charming locally built cabin is in a small community of cabins, close to everything you would need: the General Store, 2 Pubs, 2 Restaurants, the Pacific Gateway Marina. All are easily walking distance.
There is a large outdoor stone fireplace and wonderful large cedar deck to enjoy a nice drink, read a book, or have great conversation.
