DEFINITELY NOT LUXURY
Beware: The property listing repeatedly uses the term "luxury," but the reality falls short. While the pool and dock were impressive, the front yard was cluttered with construction debris. The rental company informed me only after booking about the ongoing construction. The A/C struggled to cool the house despite being set at 75 degrees, and the master bath had cracked windows, making it unbearably hot. The master bed had broken springs, leaving only a small flat area on the edge to try and sleep. I ended up sleeping on the couch.
On Friday morning, I contacted Sea Gypsy Vacation Rentals about these issues. The office manager claimed no one else had reported similar problems and promised an A/C technician would be sent. Scott, the SVG owner, later called to address my concerns and that he would reach back out after his guy was there. He sent out a maintenance person and he confirmed the bed was damaged and tried to improve the A/C airflow, but to no avail.
I also inquired about a refund for our final night due to Tropical Storm Debby. I was told a refund would only be possible with a mandatory evacuation. We chose to leave on Saturday morning, which turned out to be wise as Ft. Myers Beach flooded which made it very dangerous. I called the office 8/5/24 and 8/7 was promised a return call, by Scott. but as of 8/9/24, I have received none.
Overall, I do not recommend renting from Sea Gypsy Vacation due to their poor communication and the property's subpar condition.
